“I’m sure, you’ve all heard the poem Footprints in the Sand,” she says, her voice gentle and soft. “They say that God only gives us things we can handle but sometimes when we face our lowest point – when everything seems lost, we lose faith and with it we lose hope along with all that is good. You want to know why?” she chews on her lower lip for a few seconds before speaking again.

“Because we’re human,” she shrugs like it’s the most obvious answer there is.

“I don’t understand,” Kim Gura asks, his voice low – just above a whisper and his eyebrows knitted in a knot.

“We don’t really lose things; we just forget where we put them.”

“I still don’t understand,” Kim Gura shakes his head and I watch in silence as did the audience.  Dara takes the glass of water in front of her and drinks from it. Everyone in the room shares a moment of silence as they wait for her to speak but is clamped shut so I speak for her.

“What she means by us being human is that we’re not perfect, before we see the good things, we notice the bad ones first and after we notice it, we completely forget that there is also good. We forget that there is always hope; there is always faith, there is always good – no matter how bad you may think it is. That is where God comes along. As she said, He never gives us things we can’t handle. When we hit our lowest point, when we forget… he gives us something to remind us that good still exists,” I smile lightly as my thoughts begin to take me back to my childhood.

“I understand now, but how do you know what she means?”

I chuckle lowly. “That is a completely different story.”

“Chanyeol was my reminder,” she says ever so quietly as she looks at me in the eyes.

“Chanyeol! Where are you taking me!?” I demanded as I tried to get out of his strong hold.

“On a date!” he grinned. Something wasn’t right. “Why?” he turned to face me. “Can’t an awesome guy like myself take an awesome girl like you on a date?” he asked, his right eyebrow rose as if challenging me. I remained silent.

“Now come on,” he started to drag me and somehow that got on my nerves.

“Chanyeol! Where the hell are you taking me!?” I was in rage. Heck! The word ‘rage’ was a huge understatement. I was fuming. I was meant to be practicing for our comeback. I needed to. I’m the weakest member in the group so I have to. I have to live up to 2ne1’s reputation.

“You’re really y when you’re mad,” he commented and I blushed lightly. I don’t think I’m gonna win this time. “Maybe you can show men some more of your y side,” he wriggled his eyebrows and I blushed. The heck!? This kid has gone nuts.

Chanyeol continued to drag me until we reached Vatos. Damn. I loved this place. I smiled. “Come on!” He declared as he finally let go of my hand. I contemplated whether to leg it or to stick with him. I decided to stick. What? I was hungry. Starving even.

We ate in silent. Actually, more like I ate in silent – all he did was stare at me the whole time. “Would you quit it?” I asked as I looked at him. He grinned. I wondered what he was thinking.

“Shirro,” he shook his head and I couldn’t help but smile a little. He looked like a little kid. It really was adorable.

“Wae?” I pretended to be annoyed.

“Someone told me not to take my eyes off an angel because if I did, it might fly away and become lost,” he stuck his bottom lip out and looked at me as if to mock me. What the hell is up with this kid? It’s like he’s a completely different person.

“What happened to you?” I asked. Not sure I wanted the answer to my question.

“What do you mean?” he retorted as his hand reached out across the table and into my plate and took a taco before shoving it into his mouth. Erm, rude much? I raised a brow.

“I mean, you’re not normally like this.”

He chuckled.

“Sure I am,” he shrugged as a small smirk played on his lips. “I’ve always been this way,” he pushed his hair back as he looked at me. “You just haven’t noticed it,”

After hearing that, it made me sigh. Maybe he was right. Maybe I’ve been so occupied with everything that’s happened that I haven’t noticed anything about him.

As my eyes travelled up and down his body, I couldn’t help but wonder how I haven’t noticed the fact he was extremely good looking.

“Your stare is very flattering Dara,” his voice had a hint of playfulness. His tongue darted out and flicked itself on his bottom lip as he winked.

Oh god. The nerve!

I won’t deny it, he’s cute but his ego is huge!

I rolled my eyes and stood up. “I’m done eating,” I smiled. “I guess I’ll see you around,” I said before turning around. I heard him let out a laugh.

“Where do you think you’re going without paying?”

“What?” I asked as I turn around. He’s kidding right?

“Hey, I haven’t ordered anything, you’re the one who ate,” he raised both of his arms as if to show he had nothing to do with it.

“You’re the one who said I could order what I want!?”

Okay, now I really have no idea who this person is.

He laughed again but this time his laugh was twisted and I couldn’t help but want to cut his tongue off.

“I never said I was paying,”

Unbelievable.

His shoulder bumps lightly on mine as he passes me by and I saw a glimpse of his twisted smirk before his back completely faced me.
