She could feel the sunrise on her face. She opened her eyes, and she met the burning sunlight.

Somebody opened the windows again, she angrily thought. She stood up, and tried closing the window. She noticed Minho’s novel in the window.

She thought that maybe he has left it. She hurriedly went to the bathroom and dress up. She thought that maybe she should return the book. She took this as an opportunity to visit his house.

He never invited her there. Now, she thought that she has her valid reason to be there. After breakfast, she started her way to his house. Upon reaching the gate, she began calling Minho. However, there was no response.

She tried calling him a lot louder. But there was only silence. An old man from the neighboring house went out. “Are you looking for the Choi family?” he asked her.

“Yes, ahjussi. Are they home?” she approached him. “Oh, they moved out. They left early this morning. Mrs. Choi told me they are going back to America. They were only here for a vacation. Are you her son’s friend?” the ahjussi questioned.

What? They left for America? She could not believe it.

Minho did not mention that they were leaving. She thanked the ahjussi. She could not believe that Minho left her.

He left me, reality sank in. She could feel the tears flowing from her eyes. She could not understand why Minho left without telling her.

She ran as fast as she could.

When she reached her room, she threw the book away. “I hate you, Minho. I hate you!” She reached for her pillow and cried.

She heard someone knocking on her door.

Moments later, she heard her younger sister, Krystal, entering her room. “Unnie, are you alright?” Krystal asked her.

But she chose to ignore her. She could not talk.
