Sungmi is a very strange girl and tends to have a very distinctive laugh. She loves animals and has always wanted a pet dog, although her parents won't let her. She is a very untidy girl and she's pretty lazy. But she will do whatever she has to in order to get what she wants, because that's just the way she is. For example, no one thought that Sungmi would make it as a star, because they all think that she's too lazy to push her way to the top. But Sungmi's life dream is to become a singer. And so she managed to persevere and debut as part of Hourglass.

Sungmi hates people who treat animals cruelly and she is very, VERY scared of little children and babies. She has absolutely no experience in handling them, and is scared that she'll drop the babies. And she finds little children extremely annoying, albeit extremely cute.

Sungmi's parents didn't like her to become an idol, and wanted her to take an academic path, which she didn't want. She was forced to study for hours at a row and hated doing homework. She's pretty rebellious when she was a teen and snuck out of the house to attend an audition, where she got into it as a trainee in JYP
