Chapter 7- The Carrying
The Underworld: Sgimao
It was three days later that we had finally completed the ladder. The first one we had made was apparently too short so we worked for a bit more to make it longer.
Now, we were struggling to carry that one hell of a long thing. Why didn’t we just make it there at the gates huh? Oh yeah, then Sgimao would probably want to destroy us.
I can’t believe how the always lifeless Sgimao can be overly dangerous sometimes. Like, you know, sometimes some unknown creatures would appear and act like no other living thing here in Sgimao. They would attack us and they would attack really bad. And those creatures loved the gates.
“Ack!”
With that pained sound, I came back to the cave entrance where I had been obviously standing instead of walking.
“Why the hell did you stop?!” Yong Junhyung yelled from behind me.
He must have let go of the ladder, because I heard something fall to the ground.
I quickly turned to him to apologize.
“Sorry!- Oh…”
My eyes had locked with his and it seemed that neither of us could break it.
“Your eyes… are beautiful.”
Those words slipped out of my mouth before I didn’t even realize I had thought about something like that.
“Thanks.” Yong Junhyung scratched the back of his head. “But I really can’t say that about you. I’m nearly blind here underground you see.”
I tilted my head a bit to the right.
