Foreword
The first time I saw her was during the last day of college. I had studied for my final exam for months and was sure that I could pass. That’s just the kind of person I was - very confident in myself, a hard worker, and smart. Not to mention handsome and popular.
Throughout high school I was captain of the football team, everyone’s high school sweetheart, and a heartbreaker. I had spent my days studying and working hard to get into a good college, and once I did I continued the pattern. Although I still did attend parties and hang out with friends, I never really cared about anyone in my class unless they were popular.
But then I met her.
We all entered the classroom, prepared to take the final exam. I sat down casually, trying to conceal the nervousness I was feeling. The professor walked down the rows of chairs, setting an exam on each desk. When mine was set in front of me, I quickly scanned some of the questions and took a sigh of relief seeing that most of the questions I had prepared for. Taking out a pen, I began to write my name but faltered when no ink left the tip.
My stomach dropped to my feet and I grabbed my bag, searching for another pen furiously as I cursed myself for not checking the pen beforehand.
Suddenly I heard a small tap as a pen was set down on my desk by the girl sitting next to me. I looked up ready to thank her, my pulse quickening - and I immediately fell in love with her. I don't know why. Maybe it was the simple gesture of kindness. I didn't know her name, or anything about her for that matter. But I found everything about her to be extremely attractive and she was so perfect in every way.
She had long brown hair, a small face, and a petite frame. Her eyes were a dark shade of brown and they were gorgeous.
After the test she stood up quickly to turn her's in, and I rushed after her. But once I got out of the classroom I couldn't find her. She was gone.
