I came home after my last class, Biology 100 finished at 2:50. It was barely 3:00 and I was tired though, and I already had homework assigned, chapters to read, and upcoming test dates were all announced. I walked back to my car, noticing 11 nice cars parked all together in the same section of my level. I saw the boys walking towards the parking structure as I entered it. One of them pointed at me, but I couldn’t hear their chatter over the every day noise of the city. I quickly got in my car and left before Wu Fan could try talking to me again. I didn’t want that life to enter my every day one. I was quite content to just be a normal quiet girl and leave all that behind. There was a place and time for that life, and university was not the place.    Pulling up to my favorite cafe, I went inside for a bowl of ramen. It was a simple quiet cafe tucked amongst the bustling city noise. “Ahhh it’s my Na Eun. Here for the usual?” the ahjumma I had grown up with hurried to the kitchen to prepare a bowl. When I was young, my mom brought me here when my dad was away on business trips so we could have some quiet time in the little cafe alone. The ahjumma knew who we were, but she never treated us differently. Of course, I liked that, so I continued to come here throughout high school and now I hoped to continue the tradition. I made myself comfortable at the counter, set down my purse and slumped in my chair. “Don’t slouch, you’ll get old faster Na Eun-ah. Was today your first day of university?” she asked as she set her elbows down on the counter and placed her face in her hands, intent on my answer. “Yes, it was. It was quite tiring even though I only had three classes. We already were assigned homework and readings to complete by Wednesday.” I said inhaling the scent of the hot soup placed in front of me. “I know you’ll do well. Work hard and don’t think about boys too much. No boyfriends till you finish!” she teased. I blew on the hot soup and blushed. “Aigoo, she’s blushing. There must be a guy already.” she continued. “No, no! Nothing like that, just the steam from the stew is making my cheeks red.” I looked down and took a good slurpful. So good, better than the cooks at home.  I held up the bowl and drank the remainder of it, setting it down with a huge sigh. “Ahjumma, that was so delicious. Thank you!” I smiled widely at her. “Not a problem, if you need anything, I’ll do my best to help you. Now you go home and hit those books. Make us proud! Fighting!” she gave a little fist pump. I smiled and gave her a hug.    Opening the front door, I quickly kicked off my shoes, slipping into my comfy slippers. I set my bag at the foot of the stairs and asked Hye Jin, my maid where my mother was. “She went out with her friends, but she’ll back for dinner as well as your father, Miss.” Hye Jin was new, and I always insisted she didn’t call me “Miss”. “Hye Jin, don’t call me ‘Miss’, just call me Na Eun like everyone else. And thanks for the information!” I gave her an encouraging smile and left to go upstairs. She was quiet, like me, but I knew that it was probably difficult for her since she was so young, so I took my best care with her and made sure she was treated like a normal person. I hoped to be someone she could trust and lean on if she needed anything.    My phone rang as soon as I laid down on my bed. “Na Eun-ah, are you home?” it was my mother. “Yes, Umma, I’m here. I’m tired, so I was going to take a quick nap before dinner.” I replied, stifling a yawn. “Were you up again watching those American TV shows again?” she asked. I quietly nodded yes but didn’t reply. “You can’t do that, you’ll get bad grades.” she lectured. “Yes Umma.”  “Well, did Hye Jin tell you? I’m actually on my way home now. My friends and I are planning a charity event at the hospital. I’ll tell you more about it when I get home. Your father, provided he did his paperwork properly, will be home just in time for dinner. We can’t wait to hear how your first day went.” “Yes. I’ll see you soon.” I sleepily answered. “Take your nap. I”ll wake you when dinn
