It gets better
Idiots in loveSungyeol slightly shakes the bag in his hands ensuring all the boxes are secure and not spilling over, he’s got a huge bag of food in his arms as he makes his way to the car. He would have just walked to Sunggyu’s house but Hoya was adamant that he’d drop him off because ‘you don’t know what could happen’ as though someone was going to attack him in the middle of the afternoon.
The giant bag of food was part peace offering part making sure Sunggyu didn’t die, the guy couldn’t cook to save himself and Sungyeol had lost count how many times he’d fed him in the past.
Remembering some of the many times he cooked for him Sungyeol realises that the way he looks back at his memories has changed drastically, back then he would only think about how Sunggyu was only there for the food but now he recalls the twinkle of amusement in his eyes and the sincere laughter he’d not paid attention to before. They had been friends, they still were but they had been friends, he just hadn’t realised it.
The thought of seeing Sunggyu again excited him, it had been more than a while but Sungyeol had been so caught up in life he’d never got the chance to visit him, he called occasionally but Sunggyu wasn’t the best conversationalist.
Hoya frowned at Sungyeol’s profile in the car, he was excitedly jiggling in his seat with a grin lighting up his face, sure Hoya loved to see him happy but when he thought about who it was making him this happy it made him grimace. Sunggyu better keep his distance, Hoya can be scary when he wants, he’s ok with Sunggyu being Sungyeol’s friend but he wants to keep him as far away from their life as possible, there’s something about him that doesn’t sit right with Hoya.
“Will you stop making that face? You look like I just denied you ” Sungyeol grinned at Hoya leaning his elbows on the car frame as he poked his head into the driver’s side window, Hoya’s frown just deepened and Sungyeol couldn’t help but poke the crease between his eyebrows
“Be careful ok?” Hoya warned seriously while he carefully took in the surrounding area, it wasn’t the worst area but it was not the kind of place he wanted Sungyeol hanging around
“Oh my god you act like he’s going to pounce on me” Sungyeol rolled his eyes and patted his boyfriend on the cheek “trust me Sunggyu’s a great guy, give him a chance at least”
“Don’t want to...” Hoya pouted, it was almost instinct now but it only came out around Sungyeol, the younger would always be his weakness. Sungyeol granted him a parting kiss before bouncing lightly away to his friend’s house.
Sunggyu was lumbering around his lounge searching for a shirt, his hangover was pounding in the back of his head but went unnoticed as the pain in his leg was still shooting through him. A loud obnoxious knock echoed through the room making Sunggyu cringe and narrow his eyes even further (if that was possible at this point) as he made his way to the door.
“Who the is it?” he shouted belligerently as he yanked the groaning door open only to be might by a grinni
