I look at my wrist-watch for the 10th time. Where are you? Dammit.
And so I was chuckling for the 7th time.
And then for the 5th times I’m sighing.
I also grumble endlessly.

“Don’t worry, your boyfriend will come. Just wait a little bit more, sweety..”

I turned to my left, there’s a lady, maybe she’s at the same age as my grandmother, talked to me and then she’s smiling.

“Ah, no.. He’s not-..” I stopped my words and just smiled back politely. There’s no point to explain.

Then she turns her head and I realized that her husband is talking to her. They must’ve been together for a long time, that’s what I thought. Both of them were conversing, there’s a couple of names mentioned, and even though I didn’t mean to eavesdropping, I heard that they will visit their newborn grandchild.

I can’t help to glancing at them. They’re not holding hands, nor looking at each other eyes so lovingly, yet I can easily see how they feel to each other. It’s like.. their laughs are in sync, they’re nodding agreed before the other one finished their lines. It’s like.. their minds are able to understand what the other one is thinking, even though sometimes I heard arguments coming from them too.

It’s like they are in their own world.

I looked straight to the front, staring to the empty railway. Thinking; and suddenly wanting to ask you, how about our world, Minho?

Just after a while, I heard steps so I turned my head. There’s you are, holding your knees and panting because of running, but you’re still look dashing as ever, wearing your usual grey working suits under your crème colored spring coat, even with strands of your dark brown hair is sticking out.

I heard the grandma beside me, “See, he’s here! Omo, he’s so handsome, my dear..” I realized that she’s talking to me, so I just nod again and smile weakly. But I think what makes her so excited is because the big bouquet on Minho’s hand, that he shoves slowly to me after I stood up.

“Sorry, im late because Im searching for this first.” He said and still tries to catch his breath. I can’t help but smile. Of course, since we were kids, as my childhood friend he would never fail to give me this flower every year; Lilies –my favorite. Then he rounds his arm to hug me and say, “Happy birthday again.”

To lives together since forever, he surely knows how to calm my anger; and also to win my heart.

“Thank you, Honey.” I broke the hug and took the beautiful white flowers from his hand as then he laced his fingers with mine before we queue from the train. Turns out the elder couple were also queuing with us.

“Look at them, young and so in love.” I heard the old lady said to her husband. Minho noticed that I was somehow talking to the couple before, so he bows politely to them.

“Don’t make your beautiful wife waiting too long like that again, young man.” The husband said to him, maybe he saw the ring on Minho’s hand.

Minho smiled while he replied with humble manner, “Yes, I will remember that, sir.” I’ve known Minho almost for the rest of my life, and that’s his sad smile if you ask me. But after that, he looked at me with his longing eyes. I chuckled but I stepped closer to him. I don’t care about people around, because I just want to savor each moment I spend with him in this special day.

Clutching my hand tightly to the flower in my arms, I also tighten my grip to Minho’s hand. As if Im afraid that this grandparent couple will notice it; my hands without any ring on its ring finger.

Then Minho bent down and whispered to my ears, “I’m really sorry.” As then I shook my head. I forgive him for coming late. I also forgive him for realizing everything –his feelings, too late too.

I said to him, “So is Tiffany already in the restaurant with the others, or what?”

He shook his head, “No, didn’t you get my text earlier? This year it’s just gonna be the two of us.”

“Eh??” Then what he had told Tiffany –his wife, and our other friends?

“I don’t want you to worry about anything today. Besides, before all of this, there are only us, right? I want to make amend, so let’s back to that moment.” Again, he smiled sadly and then he squeezed my hand he held so tight. I realized that’s why he wants us to take this line of train; the one that won’t take us to his place or somewhere else. It’s to mine.

I wanted to protest, but I couldn’t. I want to yell at him, but like every time, I wouldn’t. And call me selfish, I’m too happy myself I don’t want this day to end.

Suddenly I got the answer of my own question earlier.

In our world, Minho, it contains only the two of us, one bouquet of lilies, one –instead of a pair, wedding ring. Then there’s a several secrets, a hundred of lies, thousands of days and nights we’ve spent and will spend together like this, until that world of us ends.

Because when I think again, even for this happy looking old couple, they’ve must have their own story to tell, right?

So I hope our world would never end, because with or without golden ring in my finger, I’m his wife since he proposed with a Daisy flower ring, at our wedding day when we’re both 7 years old anyway. And that’s more than enough for me.
