“Mika we tried calling you and I even went to your house to let you know, but Some one burned down our restaurant.” She said as she looked at the burned down place

 

“Who?” I asked

 

“I don't know, and Mika...” She said as she grabbed my hand and held it

 

“Sajangnim, he died with the restaurant.” She said as she started to cry

 

When I heard that, I felt my heart dropped. He can't be dead, the man that was strict but always kind enough to help people, is no longer in this life.

 

“Hana, please tell me this is all just a joke. If you tell me now I’ll laugh I promise I won't be angry, so please tell its me a joke.” I begged hoping it was

 

“I’m sorry I wish I could but its all real, Mika Sajangnim is really dead.” She said as she cried

 

“No, No please tell me its not true.” I said as I started to cry

 

She hugs me and tries to comfort me. After a while we both decided to go back to my place. We sat down on the sofa as I stared into space.

 

“Mika here.” She said as she handed me an envelope with my name on it

 

“What is this?” I asked

 

“its from sajangnim, he asked me to deliver it to you, before the accident.” Hana said

 

I opened the letter and I could feel my hand shaking. Once I opened the letter I read what he wrote:

      Dear Mika,

 

Mika, hope your feeling well… I don't know what’s going on with you, but I hope you feel better and come back to work soon. Don’t worry I didn’t fire you, I just miss you and I wish you could come back soon and work with me again. I was worried that you quit on me, so that’s why I’m writing you this, Silly huh? Hana and I are worried sick about you, and you know I treasure you like my own grandchild. Oh Mika remember the first time you applied for this job? I remember it like it happened yesterday…(Flash back):

 

It was a cold winter and the shop was closing, I watched as the girl an the old man cleaning up getting ready to close up. I decided to go and get a job in that restaurant. I walked in and bowed down.

 

“Please let me work here.” I begged

 

“Huh?” the old man looked at me with a weird expression

 

“I really want to work here, please let me work for you.” I begged again

 

“Sorry but we don't need people like you.” He said as he walked away

 

“Please I’m a hard worker, and I could take on the hard labor.” I begged him

 

“Leave, we’re closing up.” He said to me

 

I got up and walked out, however I did not intend to give up, I will get that job. Every day I would go in and eat there, and he would be annoyed, every day I would stay there until its closing time to proof to him that I am a hard worker. One day while it was raining sajangnim was throwing out the garbage, while on the way to the garbage the bag ripped and spilled the trash all over the ground. He looked like he was tired so I decided to help him. On that rainy day was the day he finally decided to let me have the job. (end of flashback)

 

Oh Mika you did not want to give up no matter what. I’ll let you in on a little secret ok, but when the first time you came to me to beg for a job, I was already going to give it to you, but I wanted to see if you were serious about the hardworking part, which you are. That’s why I tested you and you passed. I’m glad I decided to choose you. Thank you Mika, you have been a wonderful worker, I don't know what I’d do if I lose you. I plan on giving you my restaurant so you and Hana could run it together, you girls are my pride and joy, I’ve never had hard workers like you girls. So thank you once again, and I hope to see you on tomorrow.

I closed the letter and I was heartbroken when he said that he’ll see me tomorrow, I don't know what to do now I should have been here, if I was I would of probably be able to help him.

 

“Hana, its my fault I should have been there to help him.” I cried

 

“Mika, its not your fault, Sajangnim even told me that he was glad that your weren’t there at that time, because he knows you would of tried killing yourself with him. Don't blame yourself your safety was all he needs.” She said as she rubs my back

 

I cried on her chest and thought about his letter, sajangnim I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for you. Hana left leaving me by myself, as I sat there thinking about the invitation for sajangnim’s funeral. I picked it up and looked at it. It was tomorrow, so I decided to go for a walk to clear my head. I as I was walking I ended it up right near my work place. I walked away and passed through an alley, But my body suddenly stopped and I found myself staring into the alley. I started walking into it and looked around. Why does this place seemed so familiar to me, even though I know that never in my life have I ever been to a club. I see flash of memories and i felt my head throbbing. I saw a guy with red hair buried his face into the girl’s neck. I fell to the ground and held my head with my hands hoping the pain would stop but it didn’t. Suddenly the door opens and I see GD with a girl.

 

“Mika, what are you doing here?” He asked

 

“G…” I didn't finish my sentence since my head throbbed again

 

“Mika are you ok?” He asked as he bends down and placed both of his hands on my shoulder

 

“Scary, I’m scared.” I said as I saw the scene

 

I looked at him and seeing his face for some reason scared me, so I pushed him away and stared at him.

 

“Mika.” He said as he approached me

 

I backed away and I ran away, I could hear him calling my name but I kept on running like my life depended it on it.

 

“Mika!” He screamed my name

 

I kept on running and found myself in front of my dad’s retirement home. I walked in and I looked for my dad, as soon as I found him I ran to him, and I ran to him. I hugged my dad and started crying. When I finally calmed down, he looked at me and smiled.

 

“Mika what’s wrong?” He asked

 

“Dad, Sajangnim passed away, he died in the fire that happened in his restaurant.” I told him

 

“Oh sweetheart I’m sorry.” He apologized

 

“Daddy, what is wrong with me? I get these flashes of memories and I start to act differently.” I told him

 

“Mika, You lost memories and what you are seeing is flashes of your memories that happened before you lost it.” He said

 

“Is it really that important dad? I mean do I really need to know?” I ASKED

 

“Sweetie trust me this will make you happy.” He smiled

 

“Can't you tell me?” I asked

 

“I’m sorry sweetheart but its meaningless if I told you.” He said

 

I just hugged him and stayed with him that day.

 

~GD’s POV~

 

I was standing in front of Mika’s dad retirement home. Suddenly I felt him calling me. I quickly went in and found him with Mika on his lap. I walked towards and he smiled as I walked towards him.

 

“Hello sir.” I bowed

 

“Hello there my boy, how have you been?” he asked

 

“I’m fine what about you sir?” I asked

 

“Oh just broken hearted my boy.” He said as he rubbed his temple
 

“I’m sorry sir for making you feel this way.” I apologized

 

“My boy its not your fault, I’m just glad that you kept your promise.” He smiled

 

“Promise?” I asked

 

“You kept my daughter safe, and that is all I wanted.” He smiled

 

“I promise I will protect her even if it cost me my life.” I bowed

 

“I know you will.” He smiled 

 

I carried Mika in my arms and bowed again before leaving. That day I decided to just walk and not teleport, I wanted to spend some time with her. When I got to her apartment I teleported since I didn't have the keys. Once I was in, I took off my shoes and walked her in. I laid her down gently and took off her shoes. I stared at her and turned around to walk away, Just as I was walking I stopped not daring to leave her by herself, however I had to she has no idea who I am. I walked back to her and gently kissed her lips. I pulled away from it and stared at her.

 

“Please remember me.” I whispered to her

 

I got up and disappeared from her apartment. Mika I will always love you.
