Like I Could See The Last..

If Only I Had Never Met Him

I was really surprised one morning to see Kevin show up at my house before school."I' think I'm going to take you to school today, okay?" He smiled. I looked at him for a moment then rubbed my eyes with the backs of my hands.
"How did you get here?" I asked astonished. Kevin rose an eyebrow and just walked in.
"Oh, please everyone knows where you live." I flinched at his words. I don't know which took me back more, the sassiness or the fact that  everyone apparently knows everything about me.
He gave me another cute smile. "You haven't ate yet have you? Do you want to pick something up on the way to school? I'll buy...please?"
I laughed, "Why are you asking to buy me something?" I glanced over at the clock. We still have plenty of time..."I guess it couldn't hurt and I am kind of hungry..." I admitted.
"YAY!" Kevin exclaimed. "What do you want? I'll get you anything."
My Aunt came back in from outside. She looked just as startled to see the brunette as I was. I couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed to have her see me with another guy, even if we aren't dating. It just felt weird.
I stood up straight. "We're on our way to school!" I said shoving the exicted Kevin out of the door. My Aunt didn't even get the change to utter a single sound.

"So that was your Aunt right?" Kevin asked while driving. We'd been driving for a few minutes. Being new here, I clearly had no idea where we were going but Kevin looked to focused I couldn't help but take a few glances here and there. He was a very careful and smooth driver. It was actually quite attractive.
"Yep, my Aunt Avery." I confirmed. Kevin parked outside of a donut shop. He swiftly placed a gentle hand upon mine. His dark eyes attached themselves to my nervous green eyes.
"I'm so sorry that you had to go through such a painful experience." I choked when he said this. I ripped away my eyes. "I know that this is terribly selfish and you can hit me, but I'm so glad that you're here." Even though I stopped looking I could still feel his delicate eyes on me. "We might have just met, but I feel a strong connection and I cherish you. I'm so glad I got to meet you." I blinked rapidly and my heart was beating so fast I could of sworn it was vibrating. Kevin titled his head a little. Out of the corner of my eye I could see him blushing too. He moved a fallen strand of hair from my face. "Let's go get them donuts." He said cheerfully.

I walked into the Art room at the end of the day. It was completely empty and the sun was shining brightly through the window. Kevin took me to school but had to leave really quick after school was dismissed. I took that as a chance to get some stuff done. I felt super relaxed and took my time to work on my project. The only thing to break my concentration was the sound of my cellphone going off.
"Hello?" I answered after quickly wiping the paint from my hand.
"Hey Charlotte. I'm back from my errands. Ready to go?" Kevin's voice sang from the other end and a smile crept across my lips.
"Yeah, give me a few minutes to clean up." I replied. "Alright, take your time." He said before hanging up.

I didn't want Kevin to wait long so I quickly put my stuff away. I was walking to the door when I slipped and fell to the floor.
"Ah..." I rubbed my . "That hurt." I grew annoyed. "Who decided not to clean up after themselves?" I muttered as I moved.
That's when the lights went out. Still on the floor, I waved my hands wondering if it was the automatic lights. A breeze then snuck in and stopped me from moving. This breeze actually seemed to freeze my blood. On the clear other side of the room I heard scratching noises.
My mind strongly told me not to look over, but my head did anyway. I could only see a shadowy figure and I jumped to my feet. I ran to the big heavy door that managed to lock itself. I cursed aloud.
"LET ME OUT" I screamed and looked back to see the figure had advanced a few feet. The figure looked as though it were in pain. I knew that if this thing were to touch me, surely I would feel the same. "PLEASE LET ME OUT!" My fists were getting sore from the pounding.

I heard someone on the other side run over. Just as the door was opened, I felt a cold hand touch my back and I ran out not even looking back.

I opened the door to Kevin's car and I quickly sat and tried to regain my breath. I didn't even have to see my hands to know that they were shaking like crazy. Kevin just looked at me while I sat there with my head bent and chest beating fast. "Are you alright?" He was freaking out. I swallowed hard and looked at him. I pondered whether to tell him the truth or not.
"Ah, yeah. I didn't want to keep you waiting very long. I hurried as fast as I could." With a ton of effort, I managed a believable smile. He started the car but didn't even take his eyes off of me. "You looked scared out of your mind." He smiled. "Did you think I was going to leave you?"
I gave a fake laugh. "You never know. Sometimes you're too nice." Kevin laughed at that too.

I have to stop using this as an excuse not to do my homework. I'll get nothing done.
