“Hae? Babe, wake up.” Donghae heard the sweet sound of Eunhyuk’s voice seemingly far off.  He to his side and curled up closer to the pillow he was holding.  But, he discovered that his so called pillow was hard and smelt like a sweet mix of cologne and honey. 

He opened his eyes to a very muscular, toned chest and when he titled his head up slightly, he was greeted with a pair of beautiful eyes staring down at him and a warm smile that could make anyone melt. 

“Morning sleepy head.” Eunhyuk greeted, beaming down at the still dazed, groggy Donghae.

Donghae stretched and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, in an absolutely adorable way Eunhyuk would like to add, and smiled back up at the singer, all memory of the previous night forgiven and forgotten. 

“What time is it?” the younger asked as he cuddled into Eunhyuk’s chest more.

“About 10:00.” The other answered as he glanced at the clock while pulling Donghae closer, enjoying how warm he was. 

Hearing this, Donghae shot up and looked at Eunhyuk with panicked eyes. “Doesn’t your schedule start like right now?”

“Calm down, umma it doesn’t start until 12 today, so we still got time.”

Donghae got out of the bed and stretched more and then he proceeded to throw a pillow at the still shirtless Eunhyuk. “Don’t call me that, it’s so cheesy.”

“Yes dear.” Eunhyuk replied, smirking which earned him another glare from the younger.

“Call me that again and I promise I won’t let you touch me for a month.” Donghae smartly threatened shooting Eunhyuk a smirk of his own.

“B-but babe that’s not fair, you know I can’t resist your y body.” Eunhyuk protested as Donghae walked to the window to open the curtains to let the sunlight in. “Or that cute .” He added more to himself, eyes fixed on Donghae’s that seemed to sway in a purposely taunting way with every step the younger took.

“I heard that.”

“You were supposed to.” Eunhyuk said making the both of them laugh at their ridiculousness. 

But the laughter was immediately ceased for Donghae when he opened the curtains and saw what was waiting in the band’s driveway.  Standing there were about a dozen paparazzi and about 30 fans waiting for the band to come out of their house for the day’s schedule.  Donghae suddenly felt himself tense up and he started panicking on the inside.  How did they manage to find out where the band had lived and what were they doing here so early in the morning?  More importantly, how was he supposed to get out of the house without being bombarded with cameras and angry, protective fangirls?

He suddenly felt a hardness against his back and felt arms wrap around him. “What do you see Hae?” Eunhyuk inquired, suddenly standing behind him.

But he had answered his own question when he glanced through the window to see the crowd gathered in front of their house.  Just the sight made Eunhyuk’s face scrunch up in disgust and his hands clench into fists around Donghae’s waist. 

Donghae felt the other tense up behind him and he turned around to see Eunhyuk scowling.  “Do they honestly have nothing better to do than to wait around for us?”

The younger backed away slightly, scared to see Eunhyuk angry, knowing full well from experience how bad it could get.  When Eunhyuk saw this, he calmed down slightly and unclenched his fists just to pull the other closer.  “I’m sorry I’m getting mad again Hae, it’s just really frustrating seeing them stalking us like this.  And I’m worried about you too.”

“, Hae duck!” Eunhyuk suddenly said, pulling the younger down out of view of the window.  Eunhyuk must have pulled Donghae down a little too hard since the both toppled over and Donghae landed on top of the older. 

They stared at each other for a while before they both inched closer and took advantage of their position and shared a brief but sweet kiss.

“What was that about Hyukkie?” Donghae asked, now lying on top of Eunhyuk’s chest, both of them still on the floor.

“I saw one of the girls point to our window and then the rest of them caught on and they started taking pictures of the two of us.  I couldn’t risk it Hae.” He replied while mindlessly playing with Donghae’s hair.

Donghae sighed a heavy sigh and decided to keep quiet.

The singer immediately took notice of the other’s lack of comment seeing how Donghae loved to talk. “What is it now babe?”

Donghae shook his head, “I can’t keep living like this Hyuk.  I hate having to keep us a secret all the time.  All I wanted to do was be happy with you, but it’s getting harder and harder and I honestly don’t know how much longer I can put up with this secrecy.”

“Don’t talk like that Hae, I want to make this work just as much as you do.” Eunhyuk paused for a minute to think. “What would you say about going public with our relationship? It would be risky and it could go for either the better or the worse. But I promise, no matter what’ll happen I’ll be here for you.”

Hearing those words, Donghae wanted to agree right there and then, but then the thoughts of last night came flashing back to him.  He hated to say it, but his faith in his boyfriend had just been slightly shaken.  What if Eunhyuk didn’t keep his promise?  What if he got mad and yelled at Donghae again for some reason?  What if Eunhyuk didn’t have enough faith in him to see this through?  All these what ifs were running through Donghae’s head.  He wanted to trust Eunhyuk and for the most part he did, but there was still that small voice in the back of his head telling him to just walk away from it all, keeping it nice and simple, walk away from Eunhyuk and all the drama would go with him. 

Despite that voice, he nodded his head in agreement, “But how Hyukkie?”

“The band is going on this talk show today and I’ll just use it to announce it.” Eunhyuk said as if it were the simplest thing in the world.  He noticed Donghae’s hesitation and he cupped the younger’s face with both of his hands forcing Donghae to look at him.  “I’ll make this work Hae, I promise.  I’m doing this for you, for me, for us.  I love you and I don’t want to lose you like I almost did last night.”

Eunhyuk was about to steal another kiss from his boyfriend when the ring of Donghae’s phone interrupted the couple’s blissful silence. 

Donghae pecked the elder’s lips before getting up off the floor and running to the bedside to answer his phone.

‘Hello?’ He answered; a hint of hesitation in his voice not knowing who it was since it was an unknown number.

‘Donghae!’ a familiar voice filled his ear.

‘Jess is that you?’

‘No it’s the local hobo. Yes you stupid idiot it’s me.’

‘Oh’

‘Lee Donghae, what was that? Are you not happy to hear from me?’ Jessica scolded in a mock hurt voice.

Donghae smiled. ‘Of course I am, I missed you so much Jess!’

‘That’s better. I missed you too!  Listen what are you doing this afternoon, I just got back and I’m dying to see my best friend.’

‘I’m free this afternoon, I’ll treat you to lunch.’

‘Sounds good, I’ll see you later Hae!’ Jessica said her goodbyes and hung up.

Donghae was so glad to hear from an old friend in the midst of all the chaos that was going on in his life at the moment.  He smiled one last time before looking up to see a pissed off Eunhyuk.

“Who was that Donghae?” He asked, arms crossed over his chest waiting for a logical explanation to the conversation he just heard.

“Chill Hyukkie it was my ex girlfriend, she’s back in town so I decided to treat her to lunch.”

“If she’s your ex, why are you being so nice to her?”

Donghae chuckled at his boyfriend’s jealousy.  “First off, jealousy on you is totally hot.  Second, we’ve been friends since we were in diapers; we dated for a year and decided it was just too awkward.  But she’ll always be one of my best friends.  No need to freak out, you’re the one I love.”

Eunhyuk smiled, seemingly satisfied with the explanation and walked over to Donghae and gave the younger yet another peck on the lips before walking to his closet to get ready for that day’s schedule.

“Is there any way you can like not put on a shirt? You look so much better without.” Donghae teased as Eunhyuk was going through the closet deciding what to wear. 

“Save the for tonight babe.” Eunhyuk said suggestively as he threw one of his shirts to Donghae for him to wear. 

After the long and tedious task of getting ready, it turns out that both boys were huge divas when it came to their looks, they were standing in the living room with the rest of the band.

“Don’t turn straight on me now.” Eunhyuk teased while wrapping his arms around the younger pulling him close.

Donghae laughed, “Been there done that, never going back.” He reassured his boyfriend before the two of them connected lips in a heated kiss.  Before long tongues started tangling and hands started roaming.

“Tick tock, we don’t have all day you know.” Kyuhyun snapped at the couple impatiently. 

Donghae was the first one to pull away, blush quickly creeping up on his face.

“You’re the same way with Sungmin so don’t even talk Kyuhyun.” Donghae snapped at the maknae after getting over the initial shyness.

Kyuhyun opened his mouth to argue, but no words came out.  He shrugged, “It’s true.”

Donghae smirked in victory and Eunhyuk smiled proudly at his boyfriend for standing up to the maknae.

“Promise me you’ll be careful and text me if anything goes wrong Hae?” Eunhyuk asked as Donghae was about to open the back door which Eunhyuk had suggested he go through instead of the front door.

He rolled his eyes at Eunhyuk’s protectiveness, “I promise Hyukkie. Love you!” He called before closing the door behind him.

Donghae had made it to the café where he and Jessica agreed to meet at without being recognized and the two were now in one of the booths drinking coffee and laughing at memories of the simpler days, just like old times.

Donghae had of course told Jessica all about him and Eunhyuk and Jessica all but smirked knowingly. 

“Hae, look.” Jessica said suddenly, pointing to the café’s television behind Donghae.

Donghae turned and saw Eunhyuk and the rest of TRIX sitting down for the start of the interview.  He couldn’t help but smile at how handsome Eunhyuk looked on TV.

“Eww, Hae you’re so cheesy, drooling over your boyfriend on the television.” Jessica said mockingly.

“Can’t help it, he’s hot.” Donghae sighed dreamily taking a sip of his coffee.  He then proceeded to list off all the perfect qualities about Eunhyuk which was a lot. 

Jessica teased but deep down, she was so happy for her friend to have finally found someone who he could be happy with.  She couldn’t help but smile listening to Donghae go on and on about Eunhyuk.

Donghae continued rambling until something the host on the television said caught his attention.

“So Eunhyuk-ssi, there have been a lot of speculation and rumors going around saying that you have a boyfriend now?  Would you like to address these rumors?” The host asked Eunhyuk while the camera turned to focus on the latter’s face.

Donghae suddenly stopped talking and held his breath, this was it, Eunhyuk would reveal their relationship to the world and he could only pray that after the confession things would get better.

But when Eunhyuk opened his mouth, Donghae couldn’t help but stare at the television in disbelief.

“Actually yes I would.  These rumors are absolutely false, I am not dating anyone at this time and as far as the boyfriend part, I am 100% straight.  I don’t know how people come up with such ridiculousness.” Eunhyuk said with a straight face, looking square into the camera.

But, he had promised.
