it was the first day of school of middle school, mei went in the gates of jiseumi nervously. students were staring at her like she was an alien. mei wore nerdy glasses and an overused sweater, she had her hair in a messy ponytail like she just woke up. when she reached her classroom she saw how the others already made friends. she silently took a seat right in front. she took a peek at the girl to her left, mei wanted to talk to her but she gave a "do not talk to me" vibe and she was sitting like she was some princes or something, so she just faced the board and waited for the teacher. after a few seconds after the teacher arrived,a girl with long straight hair came rushing in.

 

girl: [bow] sorry im late, sir

teacher: because you're late how about you start with the self-introductions

girl: yes sir.

 

she walked smartly to the front of the class

 

ysa: hello everyone~ my name is Nam Isabel, you guys can call me ysa

     for short. i graduated from ayang international elementary

     school. i grew up in Australia so i think im older than some of

     you guys. hope we have a fun year together.

 

they all clap in amazement of ysa's confidence. ysa sat at the only chair available, next to mei. then the teacher picked randomly for the next person to make their introduction.

 

teacher: byun amy

 

the girl at mei's left stood up. mei heard some of the guys swoon for her graceful looks

 

amy: byun amy, im from haneul elem school. pleas take good care of

     me [bow]

 

amy said in a gentel way. then mei heard some student from her back another student introduces himself in front..

 

girl1: isn't haneul elem. one of the most expansive elementary

       schools?

girl2: i know right?! wow.... she must be really rich

 

teacher: no meri

 

the teacher's voice snapped mei out from listening to their conversation. mei nervously stood up and accidentally knocked over the pencil case. majority of the class laughed at mei pick up her things and ysa and amy look at her worryingly. mei walked to the front

 

mei:[almost whispering] my name is no meri... i came from-

guy:[shout] seonsaengnim! we cant hear her 

 

the class laughes again

 

teacher: shuuush!!! a bit louder meri-shi

 

mei took a deep and closed her eyes

 

mei:[shouts] my name is no meri. im from chonan elementary. nice to

    meet you! [bows 90]

guy: you dont have to shout we're not deaf

 

the class laughs again

 

teacher: that's enough... you can take your seat now 

 

mei bowed to the teacher before going back to her seat. mei was surprised when ysa suddenly patted mei's back. mei looked at her but softens when she saw a warm welcoming smile on ysa's face. At lunch time after mei got some food, she wen't around the food court for an empty seat and the only available one was the one at the end of the canteen. moments later a paper airplane flew to mei's table. mei lookd at where the paper came from and she saw the guy from earlier with his friends laughing. mei took the paper and oppend it.

 

 

 

the ysa took the paper from mei's hands

 

ysa: dont mind them their just a bunch of bulies...and it looks like

     its been drawn by a 5 year old kid.... hi im ysa [smiles]

mei: no meri [shyly]

 

ysa sat down with mei. seconds later amy went to their table

 

amy: can i seat here?? their all too noisy

ysa: sure.. im ysa

amy: amy

ysa: she's mei

amy: nice to meet you

mei: ne

 

during lunch the three of them became friends. a few month after at the sports fest, mei had a crush on one of her classmates for awhile so she gathered courage to confess. minutes before the basketball game mei called the guy to the back of the court.

 

guy: what do you want to tell me??

mei: uummm.... i...i

guy: i dont mean to be rude but can you hurry up a bit, the game is

     about to start

mei: i wanted to talk to you because .... uummm... i...

guy: argh... just tell me later going to start

 

the guy was about to leave

 

mei: I LIKE YOU!

guy: what?

mei: i like you

guy: uh... meri-ya... im sorry but i cant accept your feelings

 

the a guy suddenly sticks his head out of the court's window.

 

guy1: because he doesn't like you. and cause you're ugly

 

then one by one the guys who was gathered at the window started to shout "loser nerd girl likes park hyung seok!!" while laughing. mei ran in embarrassment, she just ran until she unknowingly got to the rooftop. she stopped to catch her breath at the railing and started to cry. she sat down and hugged her knees. a few second later, a hand appeared handing her a handkerchief. mei looked at the guy's face, he had a half worried half poker face on.

 

mei: im fine

guy: just use it.

 

mei took the handkerchief and wiped her tears, the guy sat next to mei 

 

guy: are you the one who confessed to park hyung seok?

 

mei suddenly became angry

 

mei: yeah! it was me! why is it bad to like him?!! is it bad for an

     ugly person to like someone like park hyung seok?!!!! and how

     did you know that?!!

 

the guy was shocked at mei's sudden burst, then he looked mei straight in the eyes.

 

guy: can you remove your glasses

mei: why would i?!

guy: i'll just check something

 

mei slowly took of her glasses. and the guy scanned mei's face

 

guy: who said you were ugly??

mei: what?!

guy: you're not ugly... you just to fix yourself... [smiles]

mei: [heart skips]

guy: umm.. maybe let your hair down and getting rid of that sweater...

     yup...[smiles]

 

mei felt her heart beat faster... mei stared at the guy as he was still going on about something but mei didn't hear any of it. then mei suddenly stood up.

 

mei: pshh... what are you talking about... are you blind or

     something?..

guy: [still sitting] im telling you, you're not ugly

 

mei stared at him again. then a familiar voice came to the rooftop

 

ysa: THERE YOU ARE!! I WAS LOOKING ALL OVER THE PLACE FOR YOU!!

 

ysa ran to mei and hugged her as amy was catching her breath. amy saw the guy sitting by the railing.

 

amy: byunghun...

byunghun: oh?! amy-ya, you're friends with her?

amy: dont act like we're close

byunghun: ok, ok~ im going~...hey... umm... girl with glasses...

          remember what i told you

 

with that byunghun left. 

 

ysa: what did he say??

mei: oh?... umm... its nothing..[smiles]...amy-ya, you know him

amy: his just a friend of my brother

mei: ohh... *byunghun....* lets go back to the game

ysa: you sure? 

mei: eung [smiles brightly]

 

the two was shocked by mei's unusual smile and headed back to the court. when mei got home a goofy smile greeted her...

 

guy: you're back midget meri!!!

mei: hyunwoo, i told you to stop calling me that..

hyunwoo: no, i want to call you that

mei: [sigh] why are here anyway?

hyunwoo: you'r mom invited me to stay here for awhile cause my parents 

         are on a trip.

mei: [sigh] there goes my silence

 

mei and hyunwoo sat at the sofa and watched TV. they watched running man, the episode when they were going to bungee jump..

 

mei: i bet you can't jump of that

hyunwoo: psh... i bet you cant even get up there.

 

the two glared at each other for a while and went back to watching, then mei rememberd what byunghun said.

 

mei: hyunwoo..

hyunwoo: hmm??

mei: am i... ugly?

hyunwoo: yes.

 

mei smacked hyunwoo's arm..

 

hyunwoo: ouch! i was just kidding... you just dont take care or your

         looks... why??

mei: nothing 

hyunwoo: was it because of the little confession you did earlier??

mei: what?! how did you know that?! you weren't there

hyunwoo: i got a text... news travels fast you know

mei: no... its not about what happened earlier... i...umm... i want to

     change..

 

hyunwoo looked at mei to see if she was joking

 

hyunwoo: you sure you want to??

mei:...... eung...

 

hyunwoo got his phone and called someone

 

hyunwoo: hey baby~ 

mei: [pretends to be puking]

hyunwoo: you said your mom owns a salon right?....... yeah.... no, not

         me... a friend of mine..... yup.... love you~

 

mei looks at hyunwoo in disgust as he puts down the phone

 

hyunwoo: lets go~

mei: what?! where?

hyunwoo: to change you

 

hyunwoo pulled mei out of the house. the next day mei stood nervously at the classrooms back door. she took a deep breath and opened the door. all of the people looked at the unfamiliar student walking at the isle to the front seat. mei heard some say "who is she?" "she's hot" when mei sat down all were shocked

 

guy1: what?!!!

guy2: DAEEEEEEEBAAAK!!! NO MERI?!?!

 

all started to whisper. the ysa went in the classroom and went to her seat when she looked next to her she saw a girl with long straight hair looking at her desk with her head low. it took a few seconds before she noticed who it was

 

ysa: MERI?!?!

 

mei lifted her heaf and smiled at ysa.

 

mei: hehe... hi [shyly]

ysa: WOAH!! you're soooo cuuuuuteeee~~~

 

ysa hugged mei tightly. then amy came in the room

 

amy: good morning

ysa: [lets go of mei] look amy! it mei!!

amy: [stares at mei]........ what happend? [poker face]

mei: hehe... a makeover??

ysa: meri doesn't fit you any more.... hmmmmmm...... lets call you

     mei... hehehe mei sound cute, like you~... 

 

then the teacher came in the room...

 

teacher: settle down, people... whats all the fuss about- whoa!

         meri-shi??

mei: yes sir?

teacher:...... i can see why all of you were so hectic....

        nice look meri-shi

mei: thank you sir! [smiles brightly]

 

the guys swoon at mei's cute smile and ysa smiles at mei like a proud mother. at lunch time, the canteen was double noisy as everyone was talking about mei's transformation. while eating someone suddenly tapped mei's shoulder. when mei turned around it was park hyung seok.

 

hyungseok: can i talk to you for a second??

ysa: no!! she has nothing to sa-

mei: ysa

 

mei looked at ysa with pleading eyes. ysa snickered at hyungseok and went back to eating. mei stood up 

 

mei: what is it? [smiles]

hyungseok: about yesterday... im sorry about that... umm... do you

           still want to go out with me.

 

mei took a deep breath and smiled

 

mei: you know what hyungseok... i dont.

 

mei went back to her seat like nothing happend. hyungseok who was still standing there got embarrassed went back to his friends. 

 

ysa: thats my girl!!

mei: ahahah

 

after school, mei was with ysa and amy in their usual hangout at the cafe. while talking mei saw byunghun came in, mei exused herself to talk to byunghun

 

mei: byunghun!!

 

byunghun turned around to see who was calling him

 

mei: hi [smiles]

byunghun: umm... do i know you?

mei: im... uhh... *he doesn't recognize me ?*

 

then a voice called byunghun

 

hyunwoo: byunghuniee~~ oh?! midget

hyunwoo: yeah she's the ner-

 

mei covered hyunwoo's mouth

 

mei: im his childhood friend... im no meri, you can call me mei

byunhun: umm... hi... think we should go

hyunwoo: eung... bye midget~

 

while walking...

 

byunghun: [sigh] another fangirl....

hyunwoo: meri?!

byunghun: eung... you can see it in the eyes..

hyunwoo: hmmm...

 

mei watched as byunghun and hyunwoo left...

 

mei: *this may be too early... but i like you byunghun*

just to be clear that happend in the past... ^^

yeah that's how mei, ysa, amy became best friends and why mei is head over heel for byunghun... i did this becase i notice there's not much about mei... so there.... double updaaaaateee~~~ hehhe
