Soo Jung sipped on her coffee and read the newspapers, skimming through the contents to understand the current society. Newspapers were so not her thing, but her mother had insisted her to read the newspapers every morning. She said it was to let Soo Jung notice the current world better.
Meh. Who gives a crap about the current world when you belong to the top ten?
But Soo Jung's peacefulness was interrupted by the loud doorbell. She looked over the newspapers and stared at the door, wondering who would be visiting her at such a timing when her parents had already left for work.
Soo Jung put down her newspapers and sauntered towards the door. Her heart nearly stopped when she recognised the face at the door.
"M-Mrs Kim."
Kai's mother, or Mrs Kim as Soo Jung addressed her, was beaming from ear to ear at Soo Jung, with her branded apparels all over her.
"Aigoo Soo Jung-ah, you should call me umma by now." She nagged as she jokingly shot Soo Jung a look, strolling into the house. The still stunned Soo Jung recovered from her reverie and immediately forced a smile, heading towards the lady.
"U-Umma, why did you come? It's still so early." Soo Jung tried to reason, hoping that she didn't come to talk about awkward things. Specifically babies.
"Oh I came here to bring you to the company!" Mrs Kim chirped, clearly unaware of Soo Jung's unusual stuttering. "I was going to the company to check out, so I thought I'll bring you along today! You'll be part of our family soon, so I was hoping that you can establish a good relationship with the workers for the future. You'll come with me wouldn't you?"
Soo Jung bit on her lip and turned her head away. What a rhetorical question. How could she actually reject the invitation when her mother-in-law had literally showed up at her doorstep?
Soo Jung found herself nodding, earning a wide smile from the lady.
"Alright hurry go change now, ppali ppali!"
"Aigoo Soo Jung you look so pretty!" Mrs Kim cooed as Soo Jung descended from the stairs. She had managed get ready in a short span of 15 minutes, just randomly throwing over a dress and putting on light makeup.
She didn't want to keep her future mother-in-law waiting. It would be rude.
"Soo Jung you're like a goddess! You and Jongin will be such a great match!" Mrs Kim complimented, taking Soo Jung's hand and guided her towards the car.
Throughout the car ride, Mrs Kim never stopped yakking and yakking about Kai. And the company. Or just Kai. And it mainly consisted of Mrs Kim's never-ending conversation starters and Soo Jung's occassional nods or 'yea'.
When they had finally arrived at the company (which felt like an eternity to Soo Jung), Mrs Kim immediately hauled Soo Jung up and rushed her into the company. She then introduced Soo Jung to all the employees, as her daughter-in-law, earning compliments and praises. Soo Jung gave meek smiles to the employees, nodding her head slightly, she still wasn't used to the term 'daughter-in-law'. What a burden.
"Ah! Kai should be here at this time, let's go visit him!" Mrs Kim announced, and she never bothered to hear Soo Jung's reply before she scrambled into the lift with Soo Jung, Even in the lift, she wouldn't stop harping on 'Kai
