* first attempt at party decorating *
Sunli and Eunmi sighed as they stood on the crystal clear turquoise beach, the almost pure white sand sifting between their toes along with the beach wind blowing their hair in all sorts of crazy directions that completely ruined the image they were trying to portray with their cute swimsuits and wraps.
“Your hair is a mess, Mi,” Lay bluntly said, crushing the dream and standing behind the both of them as he shifted the sunglasses on his face. He had his hands in his swim trunks, small cooler beside his feet, “Although I still think you look perfect.”
Eunmi just turned and held a hand out towards him, “Stop.” She turned back around and put on her sunglasses before turning to her sister who was already scanning the beach, “See them?”
It took another minute, but Sunli slowly smirked, “Yup.”
The elder matched her smirk before looking out to the beach, eyeing it and the occupants on it, before simply saying – “Attack.”
Lay sighed as he ran after them, knowing who his two targets were since there were three of them and four of the others spread out across the beach.
Within thirty minutes, Eunmi was clinging onto Chanyeol’s back while Sunli was clutching onto Jihoon’s arm and Lay was dragging Eric and Chihoon towards them by their wrists. “Do you have to be doing that?” Lay roughly questioned his girlfriend as she just sheepishly laughed.
“He ran away from me so I did the first thing that came to mind,” she explained before climbing down from the brightly smiling boy’s back.
“I love it when you cling to me, Sunli,” Jihoon started out, removing his arm from her grasp to wrap around her shoulders, “But why did the three of you bring us here together?”
“They have a mission for you four,” Lay stated, looking to his girlfriend for the explanation.
Eunmi just smiled, as she looked to Sunli who smiled and shrugged in return, “You four are in charge of our huge random party later tonight!”
“What?!” the four lifeguards shouted out, completely surprised by that.
“But it’s almost ten in the morning? Do we have enough time to do that?” Eric asked as he looked to everybody else.
“We already have all the decorations,” Eunmi explained, “And we’re using the big ballroom, so it just needs to be decorated.”
“You’ll be paid an extra twenty dollars for it,” Sunli reasoned to which they all just stared at her before she shrugged again, “Take it or leave it.”
“Give me a kiss and I’ll do it,” Jihoon offered, smiling down brightly at his girlfriend who just smacked him on the arm. He pouted, “Okay, fine. We’ll go.”
“Sweet!” Chanyeol shouted out, jumping up in the air a bit in excitement, “Let’s go!”
“But who’s going to watch the beach?” Chihoon questioned, looking out to see a few people already out and about swimming and sun tanning.
“We’ll watch it,” Sunli told them before looking to Eunmi, “I heard Yongguk’s little sister is a certified lifeguard anyways. Maybe we can find her and have her help out for the day.”
“I guess so,” Eunmi mumbled before turning to Chanyeol and lightly patting him on his , smiling, “Go ahead.”
Lay smiled at them as he let go of Chihoon’s and Eric’s wrists and walked over to stand next to Eunmi, “Besides, Eunmi can’t swim very well.”
The other smiled cheekily at them as they all walked off, “It’s true. I can’t.”
“This should be worth more than twenty extra dollars,” Eric muttered out as he trudged behind Jihoon and Chanyeol along with Chihoon, “Really now.”
They continued to walk off, stopping by 5-Starfish Restaurant to visit Baekhyun… and, of course, complain about their different work schedule without revealing any big secrets.
Baekhyun rolled his eyes, “You four have the easiest jobs amongst us. Stop complaining.”
“But now we won’t be able to see anybody!” Chanyeol complained, only earning a slap on the arm by his best friend.
“Stop being so loud in my restaurant,” he turned to look over his shoulder before looking back to them, “Hang on.”
Chanyeol pouted, as he looked behind him to his other friends for help who just shrugged in return. He sighed as he crossed his arms and tapped his foot impatiently before walking off to where his best friend disappeared to, “Baekkie!”
“I’m coming, you whining oaf!” the other shouted back, rubbing his temples as he popped his head out of the kitchen door, “We haven’t even properly opened yet, and I’m already getting a headache.”
“You’re so mean to me!” Chanyeol whined again before Eric lightly shook him.
“Calm down. This isn’t going to be too hard,” the shorter man reasoned as he looked back to Baekhyun to see him already gone again. He frowned, “What is he doing?”
“Don’t leave!” Baekhyun called out, causing Chanyeol to groan loudly in frustration, “You’ll thank me for this later, Yeollie!”
Jihoon and Chihoon standing behind them rolled their eyes as they took a seat in random chairs, resting until they had to do their inevitable tasks. Eric sighed as he waited with Chanyeol at a table next to the door for another fifteen minutes before Baekhyun came out with bags of food.
Chanyeol instantly stood up and rushed over to the struggling man, quickly taking the bags from him. His eyes widened as he tried to look into the bags, “What is this, Baek?”
Baekhyun shrugged as the other men came closer to look at the bags as well in curiosity. He smiled sheepishly up at them. “I just had Fei-noona cook that for you,” he shrugged, “It’s your lunch whenever you eat it. Just heat it up in the hotel kitchen if it gets too cold for you.”
“Really?” Chihoon asked, taking a bag from Chanyeol.
The other nodded, smile becoming brighter as he made them all turn around and started to push them towards the entrance of the restaurant, “Now, go. The restaurant is about to open.”
“You’re the best!” Chanyeol shouted out happily before turning around and enveloping his friend in a tight hug that had Baekhyun breathing out laughter at how tight the hug was, “Thanks!”
“Yeah, Baekhyun,” Jihoon commented, taking a different bag from the tall, happy man, “Thank you. I should tell Sunli to give you a raise.”
“You totally should,” the other laughed out before waving them out of the restaurant, “Have fun with whatever you’re doing!”
Minutes later, Kris eyed the four lifeguards as they smiled and nodded, walking past him as he made his way to the restaurant, “Hey Baek, what are they doing?”
Baekhyun looked up from the reservation book he just opened in front of him on the podium to see the taller man walking towards him. He smiled and shrugged, “No idea.”
Raising a brow, Kris shrugged before going in and sitting at a random table out on the deck, just surveying the surroundings. The smaller male followed as Ailee waved to them before going into the back to get ready for work. He sat down across from Kris, “Any potential girlfriends?”
Kris sighed at the sudden, random question before pouting, “No. Zitao took the only girl I was interested in.”
“I know, right?” the other sighed out, placing a delicate chin on his palm, “The foreign ones are pretty. Even Janice.”
“Just because they’re foreign,” the elder reasoned, “I bet once we get to know them, we’d only like them as friends.”
“Oh, believe me,” Baekhyun sassed out, rolling his eyes before frowning, “Janice hates dudes.”
Kris raised a brow in surprise, “The what now?”
The younger frowned at him, “You heard me.”
“So,” the elder trailed off slowly, face showing surprise, “You mean…?”
Baekhyun furrowed his brows at him, completely confused before understanding it a minute later, “Oh!” His eyes widened as he straightened up and shook his head frantically, “Oh! No. No, no, no! She just hates me!”
Kris just stared at the other, “That doesn’t sound much better.”
There were a few minutes of silence as they stared at each other, seagulls chirping in the distance before Baekhyun groaned and slammed his head down on the table in front of him, “I know!”
“You okay there, Baekhyun?” Ryeowook called out as he walked up to them from recently putting on his apron.
Kris jumped as the younger just groaned again, “Hyung!”
Ryeowook smiled brightly at him as he walked over and patted Baekhyun on the back, “Hey, Kris.” He looked down to Baekhyun and lightly laughed, “There, there, Baekkie.” He laughed louder as Kris scowled, feeling his younger friend’s pain, “The girls don’t hate you.”
“You don’t know that!” the younger whined, looking to Kris in front of him, “We’re the total package but nothing!”
Kris sighed as he slumped over on the table, not even offering anything else as the eldest sat on the edge of the table between them and continued to rub Baekhyun’s back soothingly, laughing, “There, there.”

“Welcome to Pleasure Pier~” Kai called out with a bored tone, walking around the shop shirtless as he rearranged where items were located in their shop. There was only so much he and Key could do to keep themselves from getting bored. He slightly tilted his head back and eyed the few girls standing there staring at him. He smirked at them, “Hey, what’s up?”
“Don’t act like that in front of me,” Minhi suddenly sneered, raising a brow at him in return.
Kai pouted as he looked to the other two girls with her, “Hey, Kyungmi-noona and Haneul.”
“Hey, Kai!” Kyungmi excitedly yelled out as Haneul smiled happily at him.
“Your aura seems to be in a relaxed mood today.”
Kai just laughed in return at the girl’s weird statement before looking to see Key put up the ‘Closed’ sign on the door, “So, what are you doing?”
Minhi shrugged, “I got annoyed with Sehun so I grabbed Kyungmi-noona and Haneul-noona to walk around with me.”
“Let’s go get some ice cream,” Kyungmi suggested as she bounced lightly on her feet, “Everybody loves ice cream, right? Melona?”
“I love ice cream!” Haneul excitedly said, smile brightening up her entire features, Kai couldn’t help but stare at her. She looked to him before linking an arm with Kyungmi, “Let’s go!”
“I’m not a fan of ice cream,” Key slowly said, frowning as he walked up to them.
Kyungmi turned to him and gasped, “That’s not healthy!”
“Ice cream isn’t healthy,” the other argued back even though Kai could see a glint in his eyes.
“You haven’t lived, oppa,” the younger mumbled out sadly before Haneul gently patted her arm.
“He has good intentions, unnie,” she reassured before turning them around to walk out of the store, “Let’s go get a bunch of Melona ice cream.”
Key laughed at Kyungmi’s suddenly bright attitude as he followed after them, squeezing in between them to wrap his arms around them both, “You two are so fun to be around!”
“But you aren’t getting ice cream with us!” the younger pouted out, still hanging onto Haneul’s arm behind Key’s back, “Ice cream can brighten your day, oppa.”
The elder laughed as he nodded, agreeing to a scoop of ice cream, “Only for you, Kyungmi.”
Minhi laughed as she watched them leave before turning to Kai who was staring after them as well, “Kai-hyung?”
Kai snapped out of his thoughts as he turned to look down at his friend then chuckled, “You’re still uncomfortable calling guys ‘oppa’ and girls ‘unnie?’”
The other visibly cringed as she wrapped an arm around Kai’s waist just as he threw an arm casually around her shoulders, “Don’t say it.” They took a few steps before she started absentmindedly rubbing Kai’s side. She furrowed her eyebrows in thought, looking up to him, “Where’s your shirt, hyung?”
They immediately stopped walking as Kai looked down at himself, full blush coming on as he scrambled and got away from her before running off in the direction where he knew Eunmi and Lay were located, “I’ll be right back!”
Minhi stared at him in shock. She really should’ve been used to it by now, but she wasn’t all that much yet. So, she laughed, causing Key, Kyungmi, and Haneul to turn back to her. The former raised an eyebrow seeing the girl laugh by herself, “Where’s Jongin?”
Haneul just laughed with Minhi, turning her head to see the man running off away from them, “Running away.”
Key and Kyungmi looked at them weirdly before just shrugging and making their way to Frozen Delights.

The four lifeguards just stared blankly at the room in front of them and the boxes of decorations lining up the wall to the side. “We’re supposed to decorate this whole place by tonight?” Chihoon calmly asked, looking around to try and visualize where everything could go.
“I can’t believe we’re in charge of this,” Jihoon muttered out as he glared at nothing in particular before muttering, “I love my girlfriend. I love my girlfriend. I love my girlfriend.”
“You’re telling me,” Eric muttered out before moving forward to start digging through all the decorations, “But Baekhyun’s right… We don’t do anything on the beach either so I guess this makes up for it.”
“Where did Chanyeol go?” Chihoon questioned as he turned to his empty side where the hyperactive lifeguard used to be, bags of food on the ground next to him.
Jihoon sighed as he trudged his way over to where Eric was putting things down on the ground next to the boxes delicately, “I don’t even question that boy’s moves anymore.”

“You know what I heard?” Janice suddenly said, eyes lighting up as she walked next to Meilin and Hwayoung.
“What?” the other two girls questioned, looking to her on Meilin’s other side.
Janice looked to them and lightly scowled, “I heard Melody is already dating one of those guys.”
“Oh!” Hwayoung instantly stated, leaning over to tap Meilin on the arm excitedly, “I heard about that! Zitao-oppa!”
“But I also heard that it was a dare by that pretty boy who, and I quote, ‘never takes his shirt off,’” Janice continued on, earning a surprised look from Hwayoung.
“What? Really? Why would oppa dare him to do that?”
Janice just shrugged, “I heard he was infatuated with her, but she really should’ve said no.”
“What?” Hwayoung frowned before giving her a look, “Why?” She looked ahead of her to see other beachgoers walking around trying to find somewhere to eat, “I mean, his smile isn’t as cute as Zelo or Lay-oppa’s or handsome as Chanyeol-oppa’s, but he’s still handsome.”
“Ew,” the other mumbled out, shaking her shoulders a bit, “They’re just out to get into your pants or something. Use girls as trophies.”
Meilin softly laughed between them, holding up a hand to laugh behind it, “You’re interesting to watch, Janice.”
“Huh?” Janice instinctively said, looking down to her friend a bit confused, “Why is that?”
The other just smiled at her, “Because you’re like an angel and everything to the girls, but somewhat rude and mean to the boys.”
Janice lightly laughed, shrugging, “I think guys are dangerous to be around since they’re mostly erts.”
“But don’t you want one guy to think ersely about you?” Hwayoung curiously questioned, causing the other two girls to blush at the blunt question.
The other frowned before biting her lip, “Only if it’s One Direction’s Liam, I guess.”
“You like One Direction?” Meilin questioned, brows shooting up in curiosity.
Janice smiled at her, “Of course! Did you know I’m not full Korean?”
“Really?” the other two questioned, curiosity rising within them.
Laughing, Janice nodded, “I’m half-Spanish.”
“Wow~” the other two chorused out before they saw Jongup, Luhan, Sehun, and Himchan walking towards them.
Meilin and Janice visibly grimaced as Hwayoung instantly blushed at seeing them walking up to them. Luhan scowled as he saw Meilin but smiled politely to the other two girls, “Hey.”
“Hi,” Sehun waved at them before promptly turning away from them to look back to Himchan who lightly tsked at him for being as rude as the elder Chinese male.
“You should be polite to them, Sehun-ah,” the elder reprimanded as Janice rolled her eyes before grabbing Hwayoung and walking away from them.
“We’ll be leaving now.”
“Wait,” Hwayoung suddenly stated, stopping Janice from pulling her along and making Meilin look at her, “Don’t you want to talk to them?”
“What did I just tell you?” Janice lightly said with a sigh as Meilin pouted when Luhan purposely ignored her and walked over to Hwayoung and the former.
“Where are you girls going? Do you want us to accompany you?” he questioned politely as Jong
