When We Were Young
“Kyuhyun?” His classmate, Changmin, says unsurely, sounding a little nervous about something.
“What?” Kyuhyun mutters, voice muffled by the notebook on his desk. To the casual observer, he is asleep, but Changmin knows by the way his hands are hidden under the desk that he’s trying to play on his PSP without looking at the screen or getting noticed – pointless, but it’s a challenge, nonetheless.
“There’s someone looking for you by the door.”
“Tell them I’m dead or something.”
Changmin clears his throat. “No, I think that wouldn’t work.”
Kyuhyun’s about to ask who it is, but when he raises his head, he groans and curses audibly. He gets out of his seat reluctantly and hits Changmin on the arm on his way to the entrance of his classroom
“What the hell?” He grumbles, glaring at his gaping classmates, and pulls Siwon’s wrist to steer him away from the room.
“I should be asking that,” Siwon snaps, scowling, “you go AWOL on us and even Ryeowook’s playing hooky so everyone suddenly thinks I’m easy and they can do it too –”
“What?” Kyuhyun splutters, “what do you mean Ryeowook’s not coming to practice, I see him everyday –”
He shuts his mouth, quickly, as if the speed with which he does so would cancel out his words and prevent Siwon from ever digesting them.
Too late.
Siwon presses two fingers into the skin between his brows, trying to alleviate his incoming migraine. He looks ready to explode in a jealous fit, but, to his credit, he merely tells Kyuhyun to take him to Ryeowook tomorrow so he can properly chew them out and drown them at the same time.
The sad part about it is that Kyuhyun’s not even sure if Siwon’s joking.
Changmin throws him a pitying look when he comes back. “Lover’s quarrel?” He asks, and Kyuhyun, very maturely, flips him off.
