The sound of the alarm clock woke me up. Still feeling sleepy, I reached for the night table and stopped it. I tried to get up, but strong arms held me down. 
“'Morning Su” Yoochun mumbled
“Good morning”
His grasp around me started to loosen as he was falling asleep once again. I took the occasion to slip out of the bed. Today was beautiful day. The sun was shining brightly trough our bedroom's window. I was feeling nervous yet excited. Today was finally the contest. After months of preparation it's finally the big day. I quickly dressed up and tried to make Yoochun do the same. It took some time, but I managed to get him up. A knock on the door interrupted our breakfast.
“Already?” Yoochun said “It's only 7...”
I got up and went to the door. Yunho was standing here with a serious, almost panicked look. 
“Can I come in” he asked quickly
I was a little startled by his sudden visit, but I step aside letting him enter our apartment. I glanced at Yoochun that had stand up as well. He looked as confused as me.
“What's going on?” he asked
“It's Changmin” Yunho nervously passed a hand in his hair “He...he disappeared”
I heard a sharp breathe intake beside me and I couldn't help but to gasp at the news. The three of us sat down in the kitchen and Yunho explained the whole situation. Early this morning, Jaejoong and himself received a call from Changmin's parents asking if their son was with them. They thought he stayed here since it was more practical for the contest. The both of them were clueless.
“Jaejoong has been calling everyone he can think of for the last hour.”
“Have you check at the studio?”I asked
“Yeah, we checked every place he could've been and still no sign of him. Any idea?”
At that moment, an other knock interrupted them. A minute later, Jaejoong was joining them enumerating all those he had called.
“No one knows where he is and Min doesn't answer his phone” he finished
“Did you try, you know the guy you talked about at the summer house?” Yoochun asked
“Kibum?”
“Yeah, him”
“Oh my God!” he said standing up quickly “Why didn't I think about it earlier?”
He opened his phone heading toward the living room, but he stopped as abruptly as he stood up.
“What's wrong, Joongie?” his boyfriend said
“I don't have his number”
Yoochun let out a frustrated groan. I could feel the tension build up between us. Our member has gone missing and we have no idea where he could be. 
“Maybe his parents have his number” I tried
Jaejoong nodded and started composing. It felt like a miracle when his face brighten up. He gestured us to get him a pencil and a piece of paper. He scribbled quickly for a couple of second before saying thanks and hanging up. 
“They have it! I'm calling Kibum” he said with a smile
He composed again.
“Yes, am I talking to Kibum? Wrong number? But...Yes that's me. Changmin?!”
My eyes widened with surprise. What is that supposed to mean?
“Where the hell are you? Don't move!”
Angrily pushing down the ending button he turned to us. 
“Get your things ready guys. We're picking up our maknae”


We arrived in the small restaurant's parking. The moment the car stopped, Jaejoong rushed out. We followed him as he burst in the place and Yunho had to calm him before he started shouting everywhere. Changmin had took a seat at table near the entrance. I couldn't help but smile in relief when I saw his tall figure.
“Shim Changmin. You have a lot of explanations to do” Jaejoong said once we all settled down
“Yes”
“Could you elaborate on that?
“Yes, but just wait a little, my breakfast is coming”
No long after, the waitress came to our table and served Changmin. The plate was full with eggs, bacon, sausage, many fruits and some potatoes. 
“Are you going to eat all that” I asked sceptical
“Who do you think I am?” he replied as he started eating 
“You are Changmin and you're clearly not telling me what on earth happened this morning!” Jaejoong snapped
“Calm down hyung. I'll tell you now. It all started last night after our practice. I met Kibum on the way home you see. We talked and he invited me at his place. I stayed for quite a while and it was getting pretty late. That's why I slept here and I actually forgot to call my parents. When I woke up this morning I decided to come here and eat breakfast first before going back home to take my stuff. I was just getting here when you called”
“How come you didn't answer your phone earlier? And why do you have the same number as Kibum?”Jaejoong asked
“Well, I took the wrong phone. It's Kibum's”
Jaejoong was still glaring at Changmin as if he there was something suspicious going on.
“You know what Minnie?” he said “I think that you actually slept with Kibum”
Changmin choked on his orange juice and almost spilled it over. His face was now bright red.
“Hyung! Wh-what are you-”
“You probably fell asleep right after doing it that's why you didn't call anyone” Jaejoong said exposing his theory “Then this morning it was dark when you woke up so you didn't notice that it wasn't your phone and you have the same clothes as yesterday. The only true part is that you came here to eat first because you're always hungry”
The silence fell on the 5 of us. Yoochun and Yunho were looking alternatively between Jaejoong and Changmin. The later was so red he looked like a strawberry. 
“He's that true, Min?” Yoochun asked incredulous
For a moment, Changmin looked like he would deny it, but then his eyes met Jaejoong's death stare and he quickly nodded his head. 
“Well” Jaejoong started “it doesn't matter as long you topped. If it was the other way, you'll dance like Junsu last weekend”
Yoochun started laughing loudly beside me and I blush tinted my cheeks as I hit his shoulder. There was no more talk about everyone ual life until the end of breakfast. Well, Changmin's breakfast. 

After stopping at Changmin's place to let him get his stuff, we directly headed to the arena. We registered the group and the staff gave us the backstage pass.
“You're the last group to perform” a man told us after checking the list “You can wait backstage, they'll call you when it's your turn for the practice”
We bowed politely and head for the off-stage section. It's with amazement that we discovered that we had a loge just for us. Pride swelled in my chest when I read 'Dong Bang Shin Ki' on the door. It was finally the day. I was about to step in when I heard someone call my name.
“Junsu? Is that you?”
I turned and saw a young man standing in the door frame of another loge. It took me a second before I recognized him.
“Hyukjae? Woah! It's been a while!” I said 
Hyukjae and I were classmate in middle school. We both liked dance so we were getting along pretty well.
“You're in the contest as well?” he asked
“Of course! What group are you in?”
“Super Junior” he answered with a proud smile “It was nice to see you again, Junsu. I gotta go now it's our turn. Good luck!”
“You too” I said waving at him
I finally stepped in the loge where everybody were already busy. Jaejoong was taking out the make up from his bag, Yunho was discussing about the lightning with Changmin and Yoochun was hanging the clothes, making sure everything is ok. 
I walked to my boyfriend to help him.
“Are your parents coming tonight?” he asked me 
“Actually, they're coming with yours”
He let out a chuckle
“Wow, that's a first”
“A lot of things changed, don't you think” 
He hummed and we went on with our task. Before even realizing it it was our turn for the practice. It was intimidating to stand on the stage even tough there was no spectators yet. That simple thought made me suddenly nervous. We set few technical details with the crew before heading back. It was almost 2pm and none of us had eat anything since this morning. As we slowly got closer to the ultimate moment, I could feel everyone becoming more stressed. We came back from our lunch with provision for later tonight. As we walked trough the backstage's hallways, we met other group. They were all so passionate about dance. The biggest shock tough was when we bumped in the infamous Kibum. Changmin informed us that he was in Super Junior. We were having a nice conversation when Jaejoong blurted out:
“Well, it's easy to guess who bottomed last night”
A more than embarrassed Changmin dragged him back to our loge.

The show starts in an hour. We can hear the sound of people rushing around from behind the door. We started changing and Jaejoong took care of our make-up one by one. We were all ready when someone knock on the door to tell us that we had to come out. All the group were now waiting outside. We could hear crowd. It was thrilling. We were stretching when we heard the sound of the audience cheering. The voice of the host echoed and announced the beginning of the 5th edition of the contest. A technician came and called the first group to the stage entrance. The wait was like a torture. We sat here, watching the group leaving one by one. None of us were talking. We listened to the cheers and the beat of the music for about an hour when we were finally the only group left. We stood up, moving our numb muscles. The other group had started. We were almost there. We looked at each other without a word. I think that it was so obvious how we were feeling that we didn't need words at all. Yunho told us to form a circle. Yoochun came closer to my right and when I looked at him, he smiled so brightly that I thought that the spot would look weak compared to that. He took my hand and I smiled as well as we gave our full attention to Yunho. 
“It's finally here” he said “I don't have much to say guys. Just do your best and most important of all, have fun. Alright, then Dong Bang Shin Ki...”
“Hwaithing!”
The technician then arrived and told us to get ready. We were right on the side of the stage right now. We couldn't see the crowd, but we sure heard them. The host announced our group and a wave of cheers of followed. The lights went off. We got on stage.

The music started. I felt the my heart beat wildly as the lights went on. It was such a strong and surreal feeling. We executed every move in perfect synch. To be honest it was probably one of our best performance. Our first song ended and the crowd started cheering so loudly. We stayed in position, waiting for the next one to start. The beat started, we still didn't move. I counted 8 times. A kind of tension build up in the arena and it broke when the song started for real. It was such an amazing feeling to be here under the spots, a whole stadium shouting just for you, dancing, following the beat. That feeling build up until the final move. All together we turned our back to the crowd, the last movements succeeded until we finally reached the top. The song ended and the audience exploded. I looked at the other member. They all looked exhausted, but they were all smiling. All those hardships were worth it after all.

We left the stage and we only had time to grab some bottles of water before going back to the stage. All the team were here. 
“The judges are now deciding who will be this year winner! I think we can applause all our contestants for their amazing performance” the host said
Not long after the cheers died. The host started speaking again. 
“Ladies and gentlemen please welcome one of our judge, BoA!”
The elegant woman who had been quite troublesome to us made her way toward the center of the stage. She was holding a white envelope. The host handed the mic.
“Good evening, the judges have now choose the winner” she said “I know you're all impatient to know the results, but before I'd like to thank....”
And she went on like that for a while. I was getting more nervous and couldn't care less about some sponsors. I thought she would never end when she finally said:
“And now the winner” she carefully opened the envelop taking out a white card.
“And the winner is....”
My heart was pumping like crazy once again. I sent one last prayer and wished with all my heart that our effort would be recompensed.
“Super Junior!”
