⚜ Live Well

The door opened and Miyoung turned her head to see Sehun walk in slowly, “How was practice?” she asked as she set the table.  He only looked at her and shrugged before walking into the bedroom.

Miyoung took 3 deep breaths to cool down.

It wasn’t always like this.  She didn’t want to ask what was wrong because they’ll just end up having another heated argument, like they always do.

Miyoung opened the bedroom door as Sehun quickly hung up the phone.  “Sehun…come eat; I made you favorite today.” She smiled, anticipating the dinner.  She walked back into the kitchen.

Sehun grabbed his coat and followed after.  “I’m going out with the guys tonight for Kyungsoo’s birthday.” He said walking to the door and putting his shoes on.

Miyoung’s smile faded before she bit her lips, “Can-can I come…?” She asked but didn’t want to sound desperate.

Sehun shook his head, “Just the guys tonight, Miyoung. I’ll be back later…” He said quickly before walking out.

Miyoung sighed as the door shut.  She turned her attention back at the table full of food, especially the small circular cake in the center, “Happy anniversary to you too…” She said blowing the 2 candles out before leaving everything untouched.

Miyoung was watching TV when she received a text.

Where are you? Why didn’t you come to the party?

10:37PM Sat, 12 Jan.

From : Lee Minah

Miyoung furrowed her eyebrows, “Sehun said just the guys…” She muttered softly before replying back.

…Who all came?

10:39PM Sat, 12 Jan.

To : Lee Minah

A couple seconds later she replied.

The whole crew.

10:39PM Sat, 12 Jan.

From : Lee Minah

Miyoung bit her lips before replying back with an excuse.

She tried her hardest holding back the tears.  He lied to her on their 2 year anniversary.  They’ve been dating for 2 years, and he’s lying to her.

Her heart broke.  She was frustrated with him and threw her phone across the room.  She sighed heavily before turning her attention back to the TV.

Through the sound of the TV she cried.  She cried her heart out.  Her anger and frustration.  And moments later she cried herself to sleep.

She woke up to the sound of the door opening.  She checked the time, 4:24AM.

She turned and saw Sehun stumbling in, his hands using the wall for support.

“Se-Sehun…?” She said getting up, forgetting about the event as she ran to help him.

Sehun looked up from the ground, “Oh-you’re up…still~”  Miyoung narrowed her eyes, “Yes…ar-are you okay…why are you drunk?”  She asked since he would never drink to the point where he got drunk.

He scrunched his nose, “I’m not-drunk. Just tipsy…and tired.”  He replied back as Miyoung helped him into their bedroom.

Miyoung’s furrowed her eyebrows as she smelt an unfamiliar scent around him.

Lavender, a perfume she’s never worn.

The text from last night flashed back into her memory before she stumbled backwards.  Sehun turned and looked at her, “What’s—wrong…?”

Miyoung swallowed hard before backing away, “Sehun…you said that…only the guys were going to be at the party, right?”  She asked before he nodded.

Lies.

“Why are you lying to me?” She asked softly before looking him in the eyes.  Sehun narrowed his gaze, “I’m not.”

He lied again.

Miyoung’s hand started to tremble, “Stop lying to me!” She finally shouted, “Minah texted me where I was! You said it was only the guys, would you like to explain why ‘the whole crew’ was there except me?!” Her face reddening.

Sehun stumbled backwards, shocked ; Miyoung has finally raised her voice to him after so many years.

“Also, explain to me how you could forget today?!  Seriously Sehun?  Today we met, 3 years ago, at Kyungsoo’s party! A year later you made it official, on the same day!”  Hot tears flowed down her cheeks before she wiped them away.  burned but she had one last thing to say.

“Or maybe you would like to explain the nasty lavender scent lurking on your body?!”

Sehun’s eyes widened, “I didn’t cheat, if that’s what you’re talking about.”  He said; his tone suddenly serious.  His eyes were dark as she spoke again, “Really? Then please, explain!” She said with sarcasm.

Sehun rolled his eyes, “We’re doing this now!? Right now? On our anniversary?!”  Miyoung banged her head back against the wall before looking at Sehun, “YOU DIDN’T EVEN REMEMBER! So don’t even start, Sehun!”

“FINE!” He shouted throwing his hands in the air.  Miyoung’s held her breath.

“The whole crew went! We were all there at the Kyungsoo’s party drinking and partying away!” He shouted.  “And No, I did not cheat.” He said in a low growl.  “This nasty lavender smell came from the girl who was grinding up against me last night!” He blurted.

“And you didn’t do anything about it!? Gawd, Sehun!! What the hell’s wrong with you!?” She shouted as she walked to him.  Sehun roughly grabbed her arm, “Are you being serious right now!? YOU’RE ACCUSING ME OF CHEATING! You weren’t there! So tell me how you would know!?”

Miyoung struggled against his grip, “Let go~!” She whined before he pushed her against the wall. “SEHUN! LET ME GO!” She cried at him before he started again.

“No! Listen to me, damn!”  Miyoung quickly cut him off, “Listen to you!? LISTEN TO YOU? You don’t even listen to me, why do I have to listen to you, uh?!” She said as she tried shoving him away.

“MIYOUNG!” His voice was loud, his eyes dark.  Miyoung stumbled backwards as his soft voice rang with authority.  He was shouting now, yelling at her, telling her how immature she was for judging him and accusing him or something he didn’t do.  The alcohol running through his veins weren’t doing any good too.

Miyoung fought back her tears.  She repeatedly told herself she was not going to cry over a guy like him, how she should cry over him anymore because he was worth even her tears.

She hung her head low, staring at the ground as he towered over her, still shouting at her.  She began to take deep breaths, zoning him out.  She had to calm herself down and fight more tears back as she knew what she had to do next.

Nothing was going to get better.  It never will.

She suddenly placed her hands on his chest.  Sehun stumbled backwards as she lifted her head, “We need to end this.” She said softly.  Sehun furrowed his eyebrows, “End what? The shouting?” He said with a hint of sarcasm.  Miyoung nodded her head, “Yeah…that and our relationship.”

Her hands slipped off his chest as he backed away from her.  The room became quiet before Sehun finally spoke up, “…Fine. Let’s end it here then.” He muttered.

Miyoung bit her lips, unable to believe that he agreed.  She nodded slowly before opening the door and walking out of the bedroom and their condo.

Alone in the Room

[Miyoung]

I slept in the guest room.

I told myself I wasn’t going to cry over this but I was--did.  I cried, wondering how this all started.

When we first met 3 years ago, we were so awkward and shy around each other.  When he made it official, he was such a romantic guy.

He would buy me 2 light coral tulips, just how I like them, as pairs, and he would replace them once they wilted.  He would randomly call me throughout the day asking how I was, telling me he missed me.  And when he saw me, he would shower me with kisses.  The man who use to be afraid of skin ship, the shy man with a soft voice and adorable laugh,

Where did he go?

I also wonder where that man went.

What went wrong in our relationship?

Was it when he asked me to move in?

Was that it?

If I never moved in with him, would this relationship still be the same? Or would it have been different?

I sighed heavily before rolling on my back.  “What happened to us, Sehun…”  I whispered.

[Sehun]

The fight, the argument, I couldn’t get it out of my head.

It replayed over and over again like a broken tape.

I wanted to forget it.  I needed to move on.

I was taken back when she wanted to call it off, but I agreed; I had to.

It was for the best.

Something happened, something changed.  It wasn’t the same anymore after she moved in.

I thought it would be all fun and romantic seeing her every day, and it was, in the beginning.

But I came home to her, every day.  I soon got tired of seeing her, sadly.

I don’t know what happened then.

The arguments just came; the disagreements and disputes occurred more frequently.

I raised my voice to her.

I cursed and shouted at her as she took everything in like a sponge.

I guess that was it.

Because she never argued back, I never stopped, and now that she finally spoke up, it was more shocking especially as she bluntly announce that we should call it off.

“It’s for the best though, Sehun.” I muttered to myself before turning over on my side.

I stared at the empty space next to me before placing my hand on the large unoccupied space, “I’m sorry…”

[Miyoung]

I woke up early the next morning and packed my most important belongings.

I walked into our bedroom, quietly packing my clothes before bringing everything into the living room.

I’ll just stay at a hotel until I find a cheap apartment.

I looked around the condo before sighing as my eyes glanced back at the room.

I sighed before walking back inside.

Sehun was lying on his stomach as I walked over.  I ran my fingers through his hair before whispering, “It was nice getting to know you…I’m sorry for the things I’ve put you through.”

I bit my lip, hesitantly leaning forward and finally kissing his forehead softly before leaving the room.

I grabbed my belongings and glanced around the room one last time before walking out of the condo.

[Sehun]

My head was pounding.  I swear I didn’t even drink a lot, then I sighed.

Maybe it was from the yelling…

I got up from bed, remembering Miyoung and stumbled over to the guest room.  I took a deep breath before opening the door.

The bed was neatly made.

I narrowed my eyes before quickly walking back into our bedroom.

I went through our closet, our dresser.

“I guess you left…didn’t think you’d leave this soon.”  I muttered as I walked out of my bedroom.

My eyes looked around the room before noticing food on the table.  “You even made breakfast before leaving…?” I mumbled to myself as I made my way over.

My eyes rested on the cake in the center of the table, ‘Happy Anniversary!’

I cursed.

This was the dinner she made, all my favorite foods cold on the table.

I left it there and walked back into my bedroom.

I noticed a note on my side table under my phone.

I picked it up.

‘I had to leave early. I’m sorry for the pain and stress I’ve caused you these past years.  I’m sorry for everything I’ve done that may have bothered you in anyway.  I hope you find someone better, someone who’ll love you just as much as you love her.  She’ll be the most beautiful person on earth and lucky to have met such person like you.  Shower her with the affection you first gave me, and continue to love her throughout the years.  It was nice getting to know you, laughing with you and sharing a part of me with you.  I hope you can remove me form you mind with ease and fill it quickly with someone else.  Also, don’t worry about the crew.  I told them that I was bored with this relationship.  I got a long lecture, but it’s okay.  I hope you find you true love soon.  You deserve someone better who’ll continue to make you laugh through anything, and I’m sorry I wasn’t that person.  I’m sorry you wasted your time with me.  I collected my important belongings, everything else you have permission to through away.  I took the time to take out all our photos and throw them out so that you can start soon because the sooner you find someone new, the better you’ll be.  I know you well enough, Sehun.  Stay healthy, and do well on your promotions and albums.  Good luck.  Live well, Sehun.

I don’t know how long ago she left, but I could tell she cried while writing this.  Blotches of dried tears scattered on the wordings.

I set the note back on the table before sitting down in my bed.

I didn’t know what to think.

What was supposed to be running around my head after I read that?

Someone tell me because I’m dying to know.

My mind went blank except for one thing.

I stared at the emptiness of my room before now noticing all the empty picture frames on the wall.

I reached for my wallet before opening it up.

I pulled out the first picture we took together when we met.

Her peachy skin and flushed cheeks, the way her smiled and how she always smelt of sweet vanilla.

“Live well, Miyoung.”

I mumbled before sticking the photo back into my wallet.

My heart raced, “…Find someone who’ll love you just as much as you loved me because it’s you who deserves someone better.”

And yeah.

The End.

I'm sorry if it's horrible.
