new york was a new place for kibum...somewhere most people won't know who he is unless they've been into kpop...but being a part of the western culture..celebrities walking around doesn't matter much since people knew celebrities are normal people too..unless you're one of those really high profiled once... he stayed in a hotel for a while but then found an apartment in new york's korea town..people have recognized him and from time to time kpop lovers would ask for his signature but then they leave him alone peacefully..although he arrived short of his english, he managed to learn and keep up right away..and then most people he met in korea town spoke korean anyway...

"need help with that?" sombody asked kibum as he tried to take the trash out from his apartment..

"ugh..no thanks..i'll manage ..." kibum said but obviously struggling with what he was holding..then suddenly a hand went pass across his face and lifted one of the bags kibum was holding..

"thanks.." he bowed to the korean man infront of him...

"i'm shin woo..are you new around here?" the man asked..

"neh...i'm kim kibum.." he offered his hand...

"omo..don't tell me..you're THE kim kibum of ukiss and xing?" shin woo's eyes widened as he finally recognized the boy

"ahhh..neh..i am...well former members of ukiss and xing..." he shyly answered

"my sister is so into you guys..that's why i somehow know about kpop tho i didn;t recognize you right away...

"oh that's fine..that's why i came here in the first place to be just a normal person...just be me,,," kibum explained

the two became friends right away..and shinwoo even introduced kibum to his family much to his sister's delight...he also got kibum a job at the cafe shinwoo was working at...

"so how'd you like it?" shinwoo asked as they walk home after getting off work..

"very much...i like the experience of just being a normal person...thanks to you..." kibum shyly said which made shinwoo smile and blush...

shinwoo was kibum's closest friend in new yorl..shinwoo even showed him around everytime they were not at work...from time to time he calls his mom or his brother or alexander just to check on them and tell them about his life ..

"how is everything there bummie?" xander asked his dongsaeng over the phone

"everything is awesome here hyung..i haven't felt so free...so normal in a while..." kibum answered happily

"well you sound happy..and im glad dongsaeng..any new friends?" the older one ask curiously

"yes..i met this guy..his name is shinwoo..and he is so nice to me..he got me a job..and he showed me around..so i don't feel sad here anymore.." the younger one happily said as he talked more and more about shinwoo..

"sounds like a nice person..hope too see pictures soon neh?"

from that..kibum posted some pictures of him and shinwoo..mostly when they hang out at home as he doesn't want anyone to know where he was..oh and the fans who asked for his signature..he also asked them not to reveal his wher abouts which being true fans they gladly agreed...

in korea someone wasn't as happy...seeing those pictures make him jealous....

"what are you lookin at?" eli plopped himself down on kevin's bed and noticed the other boy was staring at his computer like it was going to explode any minute now...

"them.." kevin shrugged... eli can't help but smile a little when he saw what caused kevin's scrunched up face

"who's that?" eli then asked

" some guy named shinwoo...kibummies new FRIEND.." kevin replied with emphasis and sarcasm on the word friend

"jealous?" eli teased

"me? jealous? of what? this? no im not..why would i? me? right me? jealous no,..never!" kevin angrily retorted which only made eli laugh louder that got the attention of the other boys in the dorm

"what's so funny?" aj asked as he and the other's entered the room

"kevin..." eli said as he continued to laugh which irritated the younger one more

"yah! stop it!" kevin smacked eli's head..

"yah woo sung hyun..no hitting,,," soohyun yelled kevin's real name which made the younger one frown more.."make him stop then!"

"what were you teasing him about eli that he had to hit you?" soohyun asked his dongsaeng also curious to know..then eli flipped the laptop showing everyone kibum and shinwoo's picture 

"and kev said he isn't jealous but got all his face scrunched up and he was staring at the computer burning holes in it...hahaha" eli laughed some more..and the other's cant help but smile

"maybe they're just ffriends kevin ah..." kiseopie said..

"or not.." eli again teased which now he earned a glare from soohyun.."i'm kidding ok..."

"kiseopie is right kev..he's in a new place right now and well he needs friends too..." aj said trying to calm everything down including a kevin almost to tears...seeing this eli felt guilty in an instant

"mianhae kevin ah..i was just joking..i'm sorry..." eli asked as he put an arm around kevin's shoulder..

"it's alright...maybe i was just yeah...jealous..." kevin admitted as he burried his head into eli's chest...

months past and well kevin was able to shurg off his jealousy most of the time..tho he was missing kibum...ukiss conitnued to promote as a group..xander working on a lot of things adn also training..and well kibum was way too happy at the place where he is now...he had met a few more friends ...

"bummie..do you plan to go back to korea?" jeremy asked as they sit down for a house party at kibuma nd shinwoo's palce..yes shinwoo moved into kibum's apartment because he wanted to move out from his parents...

"i don't really know..." kibum answered as he offered drinks to his friends..

"don't you miss being a celebrity and all?" tae kyung asked..

"i do..but right now im happy just being me..the normal kim kibum..not a celebrity..but a normal person..." he explained...

"i will miss you if you decide to go back to korea.." shinwoo pouted at his friend which just made him very cute

"pabo..i said im not sure yet..plus if i go back there..im going to keep in touch with you guys...promise" kibum said one hand up in the air one hand over his heart...

more pictures were posted and back in korea articles came out...

"kibum too happy to come back to korea..."

"ukiss former member kim kibum posted pictures of new friends and new life.."

and so fans and even his friends in korea began to wonder..will kibum ever come back? will he keep his promise? nobody knew the answer ..

"kibummie..when do you plan to come back?" hyung jun asked his brother

"i don't know yet hyung...honestly im just happy being here now..." kibum answered

"how about your promise to you friends and to your fans.."

"i don;t know hyung..ill think about it...."

and more months past none was heard if kibumwas coming back or not anymore...

"he's not coming back is he?" kevin asked as he sat down for dinner with ukiss and alexander who came for a visit..

"we don't know yet kev..he isnt saying anything..." alexander sadly answered.... 

"let's just wait hyung..kibum hyung promised..and we know that he keeps his promises..." dongho uttered....

"bummie..will you ever come back?" kevin spoke in his head as he thought of kibum,...."will you keep your promise?"
