Chapter 3: YOU

Soon, you got to the carnival. There were so many people.

You started watching 2 guys dancing or whatever they weredoing.

You saw 2 girls standing behind them shouting, “Jay! Junsuie!”

You didn’t who was who. You kept watching them dance. You were amazed.

All of a sudden, someone pokes you. You turn around and saw a girl about your age.

She giggled, “Hi! You look new around here.”

You nodded, “Yeah.”

She smiled and extended a hand, “I’m Jiyeon.”

You shook her hand, “I’m _____.”

“Awh, cute name!”

You smiled, “Thanks.”

“Look, see the guy that’s shirtless dancing.”

You nodded.

“That’s my brother, his name’s Jaebum but we call him Jay.”

You kept nodding.

“JAAAY!” she shouted.

Jay stopped dancing and walked over towards you and Jiyeon.

“What?” he asked.

She pointed at me, “This is ______.”

He looked at me for a quick second, “Oh, well I’m Jay.”

He ran back to his dancing.

Jiyeon rolled her eyes, “He’s addicted to dancing.”

I smiled, “I see.”

She giggled, “Cmon, let’s do something fun.”

“Sure, like what?”

“Let’s dance with the guys.”

“Uh… I can’t dance.”

She shook her head, “Yes, you can.”

She grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the guys.

Now, you were in the circle where the guys were dancing.

You heard voices saying, “Who is she? I never saw her before.”

This place, everyone knows each other.

Jiyeon started dancing. You stood beside her, feeling lost.

All of a sudden, someone bumped you and you fell on the sand.

Oh great, am I hurt?

You opened your eyes and saw everyone was surrounding you.

Jay was the closet to you.

“I’m so sorry! Are you okay?” he asked, panicking.

“It’s fine and I’m okay.”

He nodded and helped you up.

“Again, I’m really sorry. I didn’t know you were behind me.” he said.

I faked a smile, “It’s ok, don’t worry. I’m still alive.”

He chuckled.

“Jay, cmon!” his friend said.

He turned around and walked back to the circle back and danced again.

You sat down on a bench.

Jiyeon sat beside you, “I’m sorry about that, are youokay?”
 

“Yes, I’m fine.”

She smiled, “That’s good.”

“_______!” you heard someone’s voice that sounded familiar.

It was your dad.

“Sweetie, are you alright?” he asked.

“I’m perfectly fine.” you replied.

He smiled, “Ok, good.”

“Why are you here?” you asked.

“I’ve been here.”

“You’ve been watching me?”

“No, don’t worry. My friend is here and invited me to come. I heard someone said someone fell and I didn’t think it would be you.”

“Oh.”

“Alright, I’ll see you later. If you want to go home, justtell me.”

You rolled your eyes, “Okay!”
 

He walked away.

Jiyeon stared at you.

You looked at her, “What?”

“Why are you so mean to your dad?”

You sighed, “Long story.”

“Trust me, I’ll listen.” she answered with a serious face.
