"Now," he says in his deep intonation. "Down to business."

T.O.P pushes an envelope towards Max. Max picks it up with his slim, gloved fingers and opens it, letting the photos inside fall onto the desk. The two of them lean forward to inspect them, and Max picks one at random and holds it closer to his face.

In the photo is a woman with dark brown hair and exotic features. Max is struck by her beauty, but he doesn't show it as he scrutinises the image with a poker face. She looks like a goddess, with her long curls, slightly tanned skin and perfectly balanced face.

He picks up another photo, in which the woman is wearing a backless red ball gown. Around her neck is a huge, marquise-cut black diamond, surrounded by a multitude of smaller white diamonds. The chain itself is studded with even more white diamonds; Max guesses there are more than 400 diamonds in total.

T.O.P doesn't seem to be fazed. "This job won't be too hard," he informs Max. "The woman is Park Gyuri, the daughter of a filthy rich technology company executive. She's 24 years old, with degrees in business and fashion design. Her father is the one with the real money, though; Gyuri is just a figurehead for her father's promotions."

Max looks up at T.O.P. "You want me to steal the diamond?"

"Bingo." T.O.P  makes a finger gun and shoots it at Max. "It's nothing special, Max, just a routine theft. It'll be easier than what you're capable of, so I'll expect the job to be done on the dot."

Max nods once in understanding. "It starts tonight?"

T.O.P inclines his head. "She will be attending a charity ball tonight," he says. "Find a way in and start scouting. You have a month."

Max rises to his feet and bows. "I'll see you in a month, then, boss."

He's halfway to the door when T.O.P addresses him again. It's no louder than normal talking volume, but Max knows to expect nothing else. He turns around.

T.O.P smiles, but it doesn't reach his eyes, which are sparkling knowingly. "Do well to keep your head around this woman, Max. She has quite a reputation as a man-eater."

Max is surprised at the piece of advice, but he just bows once more. "I understand."
