Love vs. Like

Learn Korean ^.^

First, whatI think is really significant about the differences of love and like is how it is used.

In english (or atleast the english I speak) its perfectly normal to say "I LOVE YOUR SHOES!!!"

In Korean... not so much.  The love is mostly reserved for humans.  Or your pets.  Living and moving things.

You can say "Those brand of shoes are the ones I totally love."  But theres always a hint of serious sarcasm (you know... when you mean what you say but you don't mean to the degree of what you said?) in the voice.

Loving people.... Well Koreans always keep their reality separatedfrom their imagination.  Unlike international kpop fans (don't worry I'm considered international too!!!).

You don't say "I LOVE G-DRAGON!!!" to your friends.  Instead, you go to one of his concerts and scream "I LOVE YOU G-DRAGON!!!"

I think that this applies to everyday people aswell.  Just more personal.  Love is a lot more personal.  You wouldn't tell your best friend that "[You]think you love him."  You would say that you like him OR go the guy/girl and say that you think you love him/her.

The easiest way to think of this is:

1)Love is personal. As in one on one personal.

2)Like is for the whole world to know.

3) Loving objects is said with serious sarcasm.

⇨Would be a better translation of what you put in English.
I think you should study more before you try to teach anyone else. ;)

Chapter 5: I'm having trouble with the combo characters like the oe,we, wi, and ui sounds. Like...do they sound basically the same, but put into context they mean something different?
