Key was pissed at him.

And Onew understood.  Really he did.

Honestly, Onew didn't even blame the man.  He couldn’t, but that didn’t mean he had to be alright with it.

He had never wanted to be on the stupid show anyway! 

SHINee’s leader sighed heavily and pushed his food around his plate with his chopsticks.  Not even chicken could entice him right now, and really - that was saying something. 

Onew had been tapped to appear as a part of a couple on We Got Married!, a variety show with a truly bizarre concept.  He was to “marry” some female star and pretend to be a couple – at least on camera.  The thing was, everyone knew that it was fake.  They knew that they weren't married and the audience knows it too.  They know that the couples on the show don’t really live together in their apartments and they probably only meet up on that one day a week that they have to film, but they all bought into the whole image of it anyway.  Honestly, Onew just didn’t get it.

But Key loved the show.  He loved the idea of getting to play the part of a doting husband, even if it was only for a few hours once a week.  Key had been wanting to be on the show since practically its premier.

And yet Onew was the one who got the call today from their manager telling him that he would be meeting with the PD next week before they started filming the week after that. 

Onew gave up on his dinner and swiped it all into the trash bin before placing his own dish in the sink and sighing at the sight of all of the dishes piled there.  He was the last to finish – guess it was his turn to do the dishes.  He sprayed some soap across the piles and started the water, watching it fill to about mid-way before cutting the flow. 

He had plowed through a couple of the plates and was piling them on the counter next to the sink to wait for him to be able to dry them when one of them was picked up.

Minho grabbed a towel and started drying the finished dishware. 

“So…you’re getting hitched huh?”  Minho was smirking in a totally irritating, but completely understandable way.  Minho was like Onew, he just didn’t get the show at all and preferred to watch something else unless one of his friends was on it when he watched out of support, but read a book through most of it (hey, they got him for ratings if nothing else).  Worse yet, he knew that Onew didn’t like the show and was getting a kick out of the fact that he was going to have to suffer through it. 

Onew just sunk his head.  “Is it sad that I’m hoping that people hate our couple and we end quickly?”

Minho snorted, “Even though it cuts into your income?”

“Buy not my peace of mind.” Onew responded, rinsing off a particularly sudsy bowl before passing it over.

“Oh come on, it won’t be that bad.”

“I don’t even know if I want to get married ever, let alone some sham wedding on a variety show.”  Onew handed over the last chopsticks and rinsed the remaining suds from the sink.  “Thanks,” he said belatedly as Minho finished drying.

“Look – just go with it.  Like every other thing we’ve had to do to promote that we really didn’t want to do.”  Minho clapped him on the shoulder.  “It’ll work out.”

“Yeah,” Onew breathed, “let’s just hope that my ‘wife’ is nice enough…”
