Power, immortality- monsters in disguise

Everyone was always exhausted after classes- today everyone had practicals with their own respective tutor
Kyungsoo learnt metal bending today- it is possible according to theory but it hadn't ever been witnessed, ever
He'd learnt how to bend wood, earth, metal he could make plants prosper and grow
He'd almost finished his complete training
Almost
It was around 3PM and everyone was dead
Sehun and Luhan were in each others arms sleeping by the sunny spot near the window
Chen and Xiumin napped by the aircon hands laced together, lips inches apart
Tao and Kris were still awake, Kris' arms wound protectively round Tao's waist, Tao had his head resting in Kris' neck
Baekhyun and Chanyeol were holding hands in the shady part of the room
You could just about see Baekhyun's soft glow
Lay hadn't returned yet, Suho made a rash decision
"I'm going to watch the rest of Lay's lesson"
"Okay, have fun" Kris waved
Suho trudged through the garden checking the berry patches as he walked
Lay always had lessons in the Forrest
He was almost finished Suho didn't want to be a bother so he watched from behind a tree
Watching as his tutor stabbed a knife through an animals heart
Lay looked as if he was in sheer pain when it happened, Suho winced as the animal took shallow breaths before Suho felt his heart stop
The thing with the guardians was- they can always feel when something has died
Lay Waited for a bit before walking over and whispering to the dead animal before touching it- a ray of rainbow enveloped the animal as it came back to life
Lay could bring people back to life
Suho watched in awe
"It only works on things that have been killed- not just died- that's natural course of life"
Suho turned towards the voice to see Lay smiling sadly
"It kills me everyday to have to do this- but my tutor said their wasn't another way"
Suho was sad to say- his tutor was probably right
"Lets walk" Suho suggested
Lay shrugged and followed
"Where are we going?" He asked as the pair trudged through the leafy forest downhill
"The lake"
"Ah"
It was where Suho felt most at home... At peace, he didn't have to think
It was a burden off his chest
They reached the water it the rocky shore, welcoming them
Lay watched as Suho welcomed the water, he watched in awe as Suho shot water up from the calm lake

Suho shot the water through the air it hurled towards a giant rocked placed in the centre of the lake
He watched as the rock smashed with the sheer force
How powerful Suho was
But then he saw the tears on Suho's face
"Hey! Hyung what's wrong? You were amazing just then!"
"I'm destructive, I only cause trouble, I only cause pain"
"What..? No! Who told you that?!"
Suho smiled bitterly "My mother- it's my only childhood memory I have of her"
"She was wrong"
"Look at me Lay"
Lay stared into his eyes- sad eyes
"I'm a monster" he whispered as he played with some water in his hands
"I don't deserve to live"
"What's wrong with you?!? What happened! You were fine just before!"
Lay panicked he'd never seen his leader so sad, so bitter
He launched himself at Suho, tackling the older in a hug
"I'm here- not your mother, it's me and I love you hyung, you're not worthless you're our everything, the glue that keeps this family- our family together, we couldn't function without you, so don't even think for a minute that you're worthless or a monster- because you're the hyung who always sees the bright side, you're the hyung that cares for us all, how could someone like that ever be a monster?" Lay cooed into a struggling Suho's ear
"I'm sorry" Suho sobbed into Lay's chest "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry"
"Shhh, don't be sorry"
They stayed like that for a few moments as Suho's sobs stopped and his breathing slowed
"It's going to be better" Lay announced as the watched the sun set
"Mmmm" Suho hummed in response
"Just wondering..."
"Yeah?"
"Are we losing our connections with our ancestors?"
"Impossible?"
"No, listen to me, I haven't seen Yesung in ages- he usually visits me three times a day"
"I don't know... But their spirits"
"I don't know I just feel something bad is going to happen"
"Luhan would of told us"
"What if its blocked? You know he has a block on himself and Sehun"
"Possibly- but for now, lets enjoy our childhood while its still around"

"Good morning Min!" Chen cooed from beside his ear
"Go away!"
"Nooooo" Chen whined blowing onto Xiumin's ear
"I'll give you frost bite"
"You wouldn't"
"You know I would"
It was silent for a moment
"If you're not going to get up- make room for me"
"What?!"
"You heard me- move over"
"Fine, fine whatever"
"Yay!"
Chen climbed into bed next to Xiumin as the sun radiated through the curtain less windows
"I think I love you" Chen whispered after a while of silence- Chen resting his head on top of Xiumin's head
"Took you long enough" Xiumin grinned against Chen's hair still shirtless
"Wait what?!"
"You really think Luhan wouldn't tell me?"
"He's such a eavesdropper I swear!"
"He's my best friend"
"What?! I thought I was!"
"You're more than my best friend- you're my soul mate"
"Naw Min, who knew you could get so cheesy!"
"I can still give you frostbite"
"You're always freezing anyway"
Xiumin just hummed in response- It was true his skin was always a few degrees colder than a normal human, it could get even colder when he was angry
It was silent for a while just the sound of breathing
Although none of them really needed to breathe
Or blink
They were immortal
Made of stone, strong as iron, fast as the wind- although Sehun could out run them by miles- almost at the speed of light
But that's cause his element was wind
Xiumin wondered why it was him that was born into the world like this
Like everything was out of his control
He was theoretically the oldest but Kris and Chanyeol had beaten him to maturity
"Do you ever think... That people don't see us as human?" Xiumin whispered to Chen
"We aren't though"
"But we come from human families"
"I think- maybe we were once mortal and that the older generation chose us"
"There's only two things that's good about being immortal"
"And what's that?" Chen smirked at him showing Xiumin his brilliant white teeth
"That I can eat food forever and not get fat"
"And?"
"And that I have forever to spend with you"
Forever- it's a big word
But it's the word that keeps us going
And now I have a reason to want to live forever
And that's Chen
