Chapter 4; Lazy Weekends

The Adolescent Adventures of Onew Appa and Baby Taemin

"Good morning~!" Key sung as he entered Jinki's apartment. He headed over to Jinki's room, where he knew they were playing. Every weekend, Taemin and Jinki would stay at home and relax. Every weekend morning, Taemin and Jinki would sleep in. Then, Taemin would wake up and wake Jinki up. They would make breakfast, which usually consisted of a lot of sugar, much to Key's dismay, then they would either go upstairs and take a nap or play around. Once in a while, if Taemin got tired of staying inside, they would head over to the park a few blocks away. Key placed a plastic bag on the kitchen counter and made his way upstairs to where he could hear Taemin giggling from. He knocked on the bedroom door and saw Taemin and Jinki still in their pajamas. Taemin sat on Jinki's lap, facing him and squished any part of Jinki's face he could reach.

"Appa, you look funny~" Taemin giggled. Jinki turned his face towards the door and smiled.

"Oh! Key! When did you come in?"

"Just now. Hi, baby~" Key said, spreading his arms as Taemin jumped off the bed and ran towards him.

"Umma!" Key lifted Taemin up and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

"Where's Jjong appa?"

"He went and bought cake. He should be here soon."

"Cake? Really? For me?" Taemin asked, eyes widening at the thought.

"Of course!" Taemin giggled and gasped as he heard the doorbell ring.

"JJONG APPA'S HERE!" Taemin squealed, wiggling out of Key's arms and running down the stairs as fast as his legs could carry. Jinki chuckled and went downstairs followed by Key. Taemin ran up to the door  and jumped to reach the door knob.

"Appa!" Taemin whined, unable to reach the doorknob.

"Okay. Okay. I'm coming." Jinki laughed and opened the door for Taemin. When the door opened, Taemin immediately latched himself onto Jonghyun's leg.

"CAKE~!!" Jonghyun laughed and walked to the kitchen with Taemin dangling on his leg like a koala. Once they got to the kitchen, Taemin let go and climbed the chair.

"Taemin! Be careful!" Jinki scolded, running over and helping Taemin. Jonghyun pouted and placed the box on the counter.

"Where's my kiss?" Jonghyun asked. Taemin giggled as Jonghyun lifted him up. He puckered his lips and kissed Jonghyun on the lips, making a loud MWAH! Jonghyun smiled and held Taemin with one arm, while using his free hand to open the cake.

"Jjong appa, hurry!" Taemin demanded, tightening his grip on Jonghyun's neck. the three grown men laughed and Jinki took Taemin out of Jonghyun's arms.

"You had a stack of pancakes with chocolate chips and ice cream not to long ago. Are you THAT excited for cake?" Jinki asked.

"Silly appa, you can never have enough cake!" Jinki laughed and kissed Taemin on the cheek, making the little boy giggle. After eating cake, Key took out spaghetti from the plastic bag he brought and placed it in the fridge.

"Thanks for bringing dinner, Key." Jinki said.

"It's no problem. Besides, knowing you, Taemin's teeth are going to end up rotting.' Jinki pouted and stuck his tongue out at Key.

"Appa~ I'm done!" Taemin yelled happily, crawling up onto Jinki's lap.

"Good job! Let me see your teeth." Taemin flashed a smile at Jinki, showing him his perfectly brushed teeth.

"Perfect!" Taemin reached for his pacifier on the counter and stuck it in his mouth before resting his head on his appa's shoulder.

"Nap time?" Jinki asked, wrapping his arms around Taemin's tiny waist.

"Well we have to go. Stuff needs to be done at work." Key said, giving Taemin a kiss on the cheek, followed by Jonghyun. Taemin waved bye to them by opening and closing his hand as they walked out the door. Jinki carried Taemin upstairs to the bedroom and placed Taemin on the bed. He got up but was instantly grabbed by Taemin.

"Appa..."

"Don't worry, baby, I'm just quickly going to the bathroom." When Jinki came back, Taemin was waiting patiently on the bed, snuggled under the covers, hugging Jeremy while o n his pacifier. Jinki sat down beside Taemin and smiled as Taemin wrapped his arms around Jinki's thighs and rested his head on his lap. He kissed Taemin's forehead and ran his hand through Taemin's hair. Once Taemin was asleep, he took out a book from the side table and began to read. After about an hour and a half, he felt Taemin lift his head up from his thigh and rub his eyes. Jinki smiled and pulled the boy on his lap. Taemin wrapped his legs around Jinki's waist and rested his head on his chest.

"Did you have a nice nap?" Taemin nodded and gripped tighter on his shirt.

"I don't want to go to school on Monday..." Taemin said. Jinki raised an eyebrow and placed one of his hands on Taemin's head.

"Why is that?"

"I won't get to spend time with appa as much anymore..."

"Aww...don't worry, I'll always be there to drop you off and pick you up. Besides, you'll make lots of friends. I'm sure of it." Taemin's lips formed into a pout.

"I don't want friends. Appa is better than any friend."

"It's okay, baby...you'll be out of school before you know it. We can get ice cream everyday after school if it makes you feel better."

"Promise?"

"I promise." Jinki lifted Taemin and got out of bed. "What do you say we go out and watch a movie?"

"Can we watch resident evil?" Taemin asked, flashing his infamous puppy eyes.

"R-resident evil?! Isn't that a bit too scary for you? I don't think they'll let you in." Taemin pouted and crossed his arms with a huff.

"What about Ice age?" Jinki asked.

"I guess so..." Jinki kissed Taemin on the forehead.

"When you're older, we can go see as many scary movies as you want."

"Okay!" Taemin grinned.

Chapter 18: Do what you want to do! Thts the most important thing. Your parents love you and will most likely come to accept your choice. You cant go by your parents rules forever ( and i know that sounds like a bad thing but everyone has to do it at some point) dont be scared to tell them. Even if they get mad and yell at you. Just remember that they will ALWAYS love you. No matter if you dont become a nurse or teacher. Things will calm fown eventually. And just remember being depressed is not healthy at all so you need to fix that pretty fast. I hope this helped. Feel better!

Chapter 18: omg baby girl! i get depression every year at university -_-; i cant imagine how hard for it to be doing something you dont even like. i really wish you didnt need to but you need to tell your parents. its only gonna get harder as time passes. where are you staying right now? they're gonna be disappointed and probably mad, but you might need to live with them for a while or in the future and its always not a good idea to sour relationships with your parents when we're still young and we still sort of need them. anyway, you should just rest for a while, and just get yourself feeling better before deciding whether you want to go to college again next semester for computer science which would lead to software designing (im guessing). you dont have to plan now because you'd probably freak out but when you feel motivated to research some more, definitely do it!
but just rest! take some time off! everyone needs it and even if you just end up on tumblr or youtube watching shinee videos eating chips, if it makes you happy, just do it! :) and of course, i am happy to keep talking ;D
<3 hope this quarter life crisis ends soon!

Chapter 18: oh my gosh, why would we ever think to kill you? what you're going through right now is something a lot of others do too. you are not alone. if you feel like game designing is what you truly want to do then by all means go for it.
I know you are going through a lot of pressure right now but I hope you can muster up the courage to talk to your parents. maybe try talking to other people first - to help you gain a little confidence before telling them.even if you aren't planning on telling them now, talk to somebody, don't keep your worries to yourself. you'll be surprised at how much it'll help.
your parents are likely to be unhappy with your job choice because they are worried for your future and whether this career will help you get through life, but if you show them that you are passionate and dedicated to the job and that you are truly happy while doing it, i'm sure they will soon change their minds.
i wish you the best of luck! fighting!

Chapter 18: As much as i love this story, it's not important right now. You need to speak to your parents and tell them how you feel. I know it's going to be hard, but ask them why they think being a teacher and being a nurse is a good job. Is it because it is well-paid? Good hours? An industry where you'll never be unemployed? Because for most reasons, the source is because they want you to be happy. You need to make them realize that though you really appreciate it, them forcing you to fit into their definition of a perfect worker is making you extremely unhappy. They have to realize that their actions, in which they think will make you happy, are actually making you depressed. The fact that you are questioning your life is not what a parent is supposed to make you feel. You need to speak to them about this and I know it won't be easy, but it will be worth it.

Chapter 18: I think it's good that you did something for yourself instead of blindly following what your parents wanted you to do because what's most important is what YOU want since it is YOUR life after all and not theirs, you should be making such decisions... I know it's scary not knowing what you're going to do next after dropping out but I'm sure you'll find something that you love eventually :D Take it from someone in their third year of university... College is not for everyone and it's not all it's cracked up to be, you dodged a major bullet imo LOL xD So good luck in the future, author-ssi... But anyway, I'm looking forward to the corrections you're making to the fic and your next update ;D

Chapter 18: You should always know, you did the right thing dropping out; if you love your job you will never have to work a day in your life. I'm proud of you for doing what you think is right. (Pm me if you need someone to talk too- I will always help where I can)
