Personality:

Chaeryeon is a tomboyish sarcastic girl with an IDGAF attitude, even though she doesn't look like it.
She is initially shy with people, unless she finds one common point with someone, then she opens up bit by bit and becomes a silly and hyper person . She is usually full of witty comebacks or sarcasm, and is usually lazy to do things.  She is an avid lover of music, and loves everything and anything with a good beat.  At times, she can be a complete show-off when people put her in the mood, e.g. when people say she can't do something she actually knows really well, she will go to lengths to prove them wrong.
Despite her figure, Chaeryeon tends to eat a lot, and calls it "fast metabolism"; she eats a lot of rice and food with eggs in it, but generally likes anything. She likes using her Korean name more, doesn't mind it when her English nickname (Charlie) is used, but absolutely hates it when her full English name (Charlotte) is used. Even if it doesn't look like it, she cares muchly for her FLY HIGH sisters, and will do anything to protect them -- she'll even use her knowledge in martial arts, taekwondo, kickboxing and gymnastics if she has to. 

History:

Chaeryeon was born in Tokyo, Japan to a Korean-English martial artist (her father) and a Japanese-Samoan Chemistry professor (her mother). She had shifted to various places from the States, Romania and France, before settling in New Zealand when she was 10, after her mother had died from a battle with cancer.

When she was 16, Chaeryeon was a street dancer and rapper that went under the name "Stormshadow", after the G.I. Joe character. She was regularly filmed and videos were uploaded to the internet and they went viral. One of them -- a performance of Michael Jackson's "PYT" at a mall talent show -- had caught the eye of SM scouts. She was then flown to S. Korea a few weeks later and on arrival, she was immediately recruited into SM as a trainee.
