Simply put, Rae Byul's kind yet strong. She has a strength that is ever so subtle. She's feminine but steel on the inside. She uses this femininity to her own advantage. It isn't that she takes undue advantage of men since she plays fair. She has a presence of mind and she isn't swept away by a romantic fantasy. This enables her to wield her power when it is necessary. She has the ability to remain calm under pressure. Sheis a person who has a feeling of confidence, freedom, and empowerment. She's definitely not obnoxious. She's that girl in class who sits in the back silently and everyone seems to think she's cool. She gives off a devil-may-care quality and has that "edge", which people find magnetic. She's someone who isn't willing to give herself up just for a man. She's neither optimistic or pessimistic, just neutral. She'll live life in its present and just enjoy everything. Meaning, she tries not to take things too seriously. She seems extremely powerful without ever being intimidating; a reason why everyone sees her as the ideal reliable, comfortable older sister. "Motion dictates emotion." By walking with her head held up high, with a perfect posture and then strutting her legs as if it was a runway, it gets people to think she's an attractive person with high self-esteem and they'll gradually respect her. People also find her fresh since she lives by something someone once said, "Do or don't." That's all there is to it. If she doesn't agree or doesn't want to do what she's told to do, she'll ignore it. If that person doesn't leave her alone, she'll look at that person straight in the face and say, "No thank you." It's more logic than will for Rae Byul. If she finds whatever it is to be incredibly stupid, there is a slight possibility she might scoff. Other than that, she's a person with great tact. She has a keen sense when dealing with people, meaning she can speak and act without offending others. On those sad "nothing goes right" days, she tends to feel vexed a lot. Everything will become bothersome and irritating. Once a person has witnessed her back-lashing of annoyed glares, bitter sarcasm, and smart- attitude, they'll know immediately to back off. Although she may have many great friends, she will definitely not rely on them or expect anything from them. She believes once friends exchange anything else than their listening abilities, the relationship is bound to go downhill. She won't lie that there aren't any people who are envious of her elegant lifestyle but all she has to say is: it's all in their heads. It's the actions you take that turns you into the person you are today. So take responsibility of everything you do because in the end, that's going to be how you'll be received.

 History:

Being the daughter of a bitter Colonel from the Air Force, Jiao Jing Chang, and the daughter of a strict Navy Nurse, Pei Jing Xiao, Rae Byul didn't have much of a happy childhood. When she was a kid, she'd never see her parents; for they were always overseas. She was on constant watch by the house guards, maids, and butler. Rae Byul was raised with so many house rules. She could never have sweets, of any kind. She couldn't stay up no later than 8, and she couldn't have ANY friends over. They [her parents] put her in the best schools, living in Venice, Italy, due to their job, they would stick her in very prestigious schools of high pay. Of course, they had the money. And when she hit her last years in elementary, the rules were enforced. She still couldn't stay up later than 8, she STILL couldn't have friends over, and she couldn't have any source of contact. With anyone but her parents. Who still paid no mind to the loveless, bitter child that they would leave behind every single year, even during the holidays. Therefore, she became bitter and distant. Her little innocent, princess-y, little girl emotions went down the drain, and in came in the sarcastic, smart- personality, along with her rebellious, I-Don't-Care attitude. When she first entered middle school, is when she started dancing. And in Italy, the only sorts of dances you would find were; Tango, Ballet, Lyrical, and Tap. She decided to try out all of them, but found her passion in Ballet. And with new singers coming out every single day like life depended on it, she too decided to sing. She tried out for her Cathedral's choir, and eventually fell in love with singing. She was a soprano, and could, and still can, break a class cup. But  the more she danced Ballet, and the more she sang at her choir, it … it still wasn't enough for her. She eventually saw into k-pop when she entered High School. Yes, k-pop was famous in Italy as in any other country. She really admired soloist, Jeong Ji-Hoon, aka Bi / Rain. She "erted" her Ballet into Breakdancing, therefore, leading her to get kicked out of Ballet classes. She shrugged it off. She knew all the dancing she needed to know. She even learned how to pop and lock to any song. She also changed up her singing style. She added more flair, more style, more … her. She quit choir to pursue her singing dreams somewhere else. But soon, she turned to freestyle rapping and beatboxing. She was oh-so good at rapping. She could spit out a flow at anytime, to any beat. She beatboxed to create her own beats for her composed lyrics. She would actually steal money from her father's banking account to buy herself plane tickets to the Annual Underground Dance Battle in Beijing, China. She would secretly go every year when her parents went overseas to whether it be the Air Force, or the Navy. But one year, her parents had found out that they were a few cents loose. By cents, to them, that was a couple thousand dollars. That was nothing to them. Of course, they could make it all up with what they worked at, they were both in the military, but they had suspected Rae Byul. They had also received a letter, which actually was directed to their daughter. So they read it. It had been an offer to auditions for SMEntertainment in China. They had found her extremely talented. Being a triple threat, A rapper, Breakdancer, and a singer. Yeah, they desperately needed her. So her parents read the letter and were completely livid. What had their daughter been doing all these years behind their backs while they were overseas? So they confronted her one day when she got home from high school. Rae Byul was surprised, but quickly recovered. She had told them off. She had gone ballistic. She told them that they had no right over her life, or what she did with it. They had never showed her love, this is why she doesn't believe in love or affection. She told them that she was going to China to become famous and actually do something with her life no matter what they said, or what they thought. They hadn't been around to see her grow. Her father had been absolutely mad and disappointed. He had wanted her to follow in his footsteps and join the military, to serve their country. Not to mention her mother. She had disapproved of the fact that her daughter "Breakdanced" in trashy, shady, degrading, underground clubs in China, although China had been her mother and father's hometown, and they had left it for a reason. She didn't want her daughter associating over there. But finally, after world war III with her parents, or so her parents dubbed it, they had agreed to let her go. She didn't waste time to get to China. And as soon as she auditioned, they scouted her. She was immediately sent to Seoul, Korea for a conference with Lee Soo Man, CEO and founder of SMEntertainment. He approved instantly and made space for her as a trainee. This girl has incredible talent, too incredible for words, that she became one of SM's prized trainees. Her dancing was precise and sharp. Her singing could melt any cold heart, but still managed to keep hers on lock. And her rapping flowed off her tongue like water in a clear crystal river. This is Rae Byul, Triple Threat, and has been training for 6 years in total.
