Dangerous Friendship (Update in Chapter 4 +explanation why)

Description

This is the Super Junior's mini drama "Dangerous Friendship" again, just with a different plot to it. KyuHyun is actually in love with SungMin and wants to have him to himself, but must first get rid of his girlfriend and his friends so SungMin can be his to himself.

***Description***

Lee SungMin has been in a relationship with Noh HyeKyung for two years before she left him. HyeKyung had left SungMin in one of the worst possible ways, she was killed from getting hit by a car. Thanks to the sudden loss of his girlfriend, SungMin refuses to eat and even loses focus on his school work for the remaining of the semester, putting him in danger of failing and being dropped from the school. Things start to change when a new roommate is added to the picture. Cho KyuHyun moves into the dorms along with SungMin and his two other roommates. Because KyuHyun proves to have much in common with HyeKyun, SungMin realizes that he begins falling in love with the younger boy. In the end, it turns out that his relationship with KyuHyun is not exactly the dream that he had wished to come true. Instead, he realized that he had put himself in a very dangerous position by getting involved with the transfer student.

Foreword

SungMin was feeling really pumped today and ready to go, as he was going to celebrate his second full year anniversary with his girlfriend, Noh HyeKyung, and the day was already completely planned out. They would be spending breakfast at the same cafe that they had their very first official date at together when they first started dating. Afterward, they would be in the movie theater watching any movie that HyeKyung picked out. From there, they would be walking around the town, probably stopping at random little shops on the way. Lunch would be served at the same cafe they were at for breakfast and the rest of the time, they would be at SungMin's apartment in SM Town, where the apartments are for SM University, and RyeoWook would serve dinner for them and the lovely couple themselves.

It was a good day, and everything had been planned and booked before hand. SungMin woke up early, at seven in the morning, in order to have enough time to take a shower and get ready. It allotted him enough time to make sure that he looked good before he would have to go out and meet his girlfriend. After his shower, he blow dried and straightened his hair. Since it wasn't a fancy date, as SungMin wouldn't be able to afford anything extra expensive and refused to allow HyeKyung to pay for their date, he didn't need to wear any fancy clothing. He put on some jeans and a nice T-Shirt that was a little more formal than what he would usually wear, but a lot more casual than a tux.

SungMin exited out of room to be instantly met by RyeoWook. The younger one was always like a mother, despite being the youngest in their big group of friends. He took care of everyone and watched over them like a mom would with her babies. "You look so cute!!" RyeoWook said, walking up to SungMin, who was turning slightly red at the younger's random outburst. Though, he really should have seen it coming. "HyeKyung will definitely faint at the sight of you."

SungMin pushed RyeoWook away before he could embarrass him any further. RyeoWook put a hand to his heart and squeezed it, making a face in order to pretend that he was truly hurt by what the older had just done to him. SungMin rolled his eyes, knowing by now that he was only faking it. A few times before, when he first met the boy, he honestly believed that he was hurt since he was so damn good at acting. "Have fun with your date," RyeoWook said, patting his friend on the back. "Remember, your having dinner with JongWoon and I tonight." He said as SungMin walked away.

"How could I forget?" SungMin called back as he continued for the door. "Just make sure to cook something good."

SungMin exited from the house and he got into his car. Even though he had been dating HyeKyung for two years, the feeling of butterflies and nervousness never went away. He truly loved HyeKyung and the older girl truly loved him too. Before pulling out of the driveway, SungMin decided he should call the girl to let her know that he was on his way. He found her number and called. The phone rung a few times before she answered. "Hi, sweetie!" She called, sounding incredibly cheerful today.

"I'm on my way right now." SungMin said. Being the 'gentleman' that he was, it was his job to drop by and pick HyeKyung up for their date.

"Oh, about that," The girl said, the happy tone in her voice not shifting in levels at all. "My sister is not home right now, so I have to run by mom's house to drop my nephew off."

"Your sister knew about this, today." SungMin whined into the phone. It always happened that HyeKyung's family would find some way to ruin their plans of a perfect date together when they wanted the whole day. SungMin didn't think it was because they hated him, because he really felt like they didn't. But he did get the feeling that they weren't too fond of him. He was from a lower class family that barely made enough money to get by on what they had, and HyeKyung's family had an average standing in society as far as their finances were concerned. Today was SungMin's day, though, he saved up enough money on his own to make this day work.

"I know, but she is saying that this was unavoidable, so she's terribly sorry." HyeKyung spoke into the phone, feeling the need to defend her sister's case. She knew that SungMin didn't feel like he was totally accepted by her family, and she felt that he was probably right, but she wanted to try to make things for them the best as she could.

"Okay," SungMin gave in, not really seeing a reason to argue about it. It wasn't like he would be able to change anything, no matter what he said. "I'll see you when you get there then."

"Love you." HyeKyung said before hanging up the phone.

SungMin sighed as he slid the phone back into his pocket. Knowing that HyeKyung's mom lived a little ways away from the cafe that they were going to, he knew that it would at least take her an hour and a half to get there. This left him with no choice but to go without her to save their spots. If they didn't show up in time, their reservations would be cancelled.

When he pulled into the driveway, he got to go in without even being checked. Since the cafe was cheap, SungMin and HyeKyung came by here often for their occasional dates, so all of the staff eventually learned them. Not only that, but this was also the same cafe that SungMin got his first job at.

The waiter had brought out some water and bread to start SungMin off with as he waited for his date to arrive. He didn't know what time to expect, but he did know that it could take a while. When the first hour went by, SungMin started to become slightly impatient with how long it was taking her to get there, but he didn't start to worry until the third hour passed. Getting tired of waiting and not hearing anything, SungMin finally pulled out his phone to call the girl. The phone rang several times, but no one ever did answer the call.

After another two hours passed by, SungMin tried to call again. This time when the phone wasn't answered, he stood up and left from the cafe. If HyeKyung didn't want to see him anymore, why did she tell him to still go in the cafe in the first place? He had waited there for five hours, it was now past lunch time, yet she still didn't show. SungMin was actually lucky that the cafe staff hadn't already thrown him out, but they knew that this was a big day for their favorite couple. After deciding that HyeKyung was not going to show or answer/return his calls, SungMin decided that it was time to head home. He had no reason for being there anymore.

The boy got into his old beat up car and started to drive away, heading home to the apartments in SM Town, the one place he knew he would be accepted into the loving arms of the lovely couple that waited their arrival for dinner. Of course, they would know that something was wrong when SungMin returned home alone. This was not how he wanted the day of his and HyeKyung's second anniversary to end, but it didn't seem like there were very many options for him.

SungMin stopped and took a deep breath, readying himself before entering the house. As soon as he took a step inside, the eager RyeoWook was at his feet. "So, how was your guys's day?" He asked in his usual happy tone that he carried, but stopped himself when he noticed the look of distress on SungMin's face and took note that his partner was not with him. "Where's HyeKyung?"

It didn't take much for RyeoWook to find out that something was wrong. Of course he may seem completely oblivious to things at times, but he has always had a really good sense of people's feeling. "SungMin…" RyeoWook said, trying to stop his roommate from heading to his bedroom. He only knew that HyeKyung wasn't with him, but he had yet to find out why.

"She didn't show." SungMin said, lowering his head as he felt the tears threatening to come.

That's when it hit RyeoWook. SungMin was worried that her not showing up was a cruel way of saying that she didn't want to see him anymore. He thought that this meant that it would be over between the two, and RyeoWook knew that was something that SungMin wouldn't be able to handle. You see, HyeKyung was older that SungMin and in some ways, took the place of a mother as well as a girlfriend, which was helpful to the younger one who had lost his mother to cancer when he was very young. HyeKyung had always taken care of the younger one, even before they started dating. It would be hard to adjust to not being with her anymore, and RyeoWook knew that.

"SungMin," RyeoWook said, pulling his friend over to the couch as he made him sit down with him. "Maybe she was just busy."

"For five hours?" SungMin asked, looking at the younger knowing that it wasn't very likely that HyeKyung would be busy for that long without telling him. She just had to take her nephew home. RyeoWook lowered his head, knowing that was a bad attempt at trying to make him happy. "She just had to take her nephew home…she didn't even answer when I tried to call her several times."

It was then that RyeoWook no longer knew what to say, so he only placed an arm around SungMin's shoulder, pulling him in to rest on his own shoulder. it was times like these that he wished his own boyfriend wasn't out shopping for the ingredients for tonight's dinner. YeSung would always know what to say when it came to moments like this.

There was silence in the room as SungMin curled up to the younger one, desperately needing that comfort that he offered him. He didn't cry. He forced himself not to cry. If HyeKyung was going to leave him like that on the day of their second anniversary, she most certainly did not deserve the boy's tears right now. That was how SungMin felt, so he kept the tears from falling.

It was just short of an hour that the oldest returned from his shopping and headed straight to the kitchen to set the food down. "They didn't have the butterscotch and chocolate chips that you wanted, so I just got the plain ones." He said before walking into the living room and noticing the boys sitting on the couch, obviously not in the best mood. He then took note to one more thing, the girl was not with them. "Where's HyeKyung?" He finally asked.

RyeoWook looked up at his boyfriend from he sat on the couch and YeSung came over to comfort the two. "She ended up not showing." RyeoWook spoke for the older one.

"I think she doesn't want to see me anymore," SungMin said, not being able to hold back his tears this time. He had to face it, even if she didn't deserve his tears, it didn't change the fact that SungMin still loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He didn't see what he could have done wrong that would have made her want to throw it all away. "He was just taking her nephew to her mom's house, but she never showed up."

"Of course that's not the case." YeSung said, knowing full well that there was no way the older girl had lost any of her feelings for the younger one. Even though it was only the pair's second year of dating each other, they have known each other for five or six years before now, and knowing HyeKyung, there was no way that her feelings for SungMin had changed even the slightest bit. "There are all kinds of things that could have happened. Maybe something came up and she accidentally left her phone at her mom's place."

"That would make sense," RyeoWook. "Her family doesn't like you a whole lot, so they may not want to answer it and tell you what is going on."

SungMin lowered his head, not really wanting to add to the conversation. It was her choice on coming or not, and if she couldn't make it for whatever reason, it was up to her to let him know. Since she didn't, SungMin assumed that meant that they would be over. Then it hit him. What if something really had happened and she couldn't let him know because she was in a dangerous situation or even hurt? "What if something happened to her?" SungMin wondered allowed as his thoughts got the best of him.

The first few moments after the question was asked were silent moments. No one dared say a word on that matter, for it was a very real possibility that something had happened to the girl and there was no possible way for her to contact her boyfriend and let him know that she couldn't make it. Finally, one of them spoke. "That is a possibility." YeSung was the first one break the silence as he stood up and grabbed both of the boy's hands pulling them into the kitchen. "But for now, let's eat supper and bake some cookies."

With no words for agreement, the group was in the kitchen, already getting ready for supper to be prepared. It was originally going to be just RyeoWook cooking, but the plans took a turn. SungMin wanted to help to keep his mind occupied from HyeKyung for now, which wasn't really helping a lot as the girl refused to leave as he considered all of the things that could be happening to her right now and he didn't even know it. YeSung joined in just to add an extra person and to keep from feeling left out.

Dinner went by just as chatty as usual. The group didn't bring up the girl missing, but she was in the back of all of their minds as they began to decide that the only possible way she wouldn't contact SungMin is if she had run into some kind of trouble. The thought haunted them until the end of supper.

As YeSung cleaned up the dishes of the dinner, SungMin and RyeoWook started to prepare for baking their cookies. The day had gotten a bit better after the heartbreak of not being able to celebrate the couple of the day's anniversary.

When the cookies were finished, the lovely coupled and their adorable SungMin had sat down in front of the TV, munching on the cookies as they watched whatever movies came on. Currently, they were watching Warlords, a Chinese movie that SungMin had requested since he's been wanting to see it. That's when the call came. SungMin's phone went off with the lovely ringtone that he had set specifically for HyeKyung, so he would always know when it was her calling. "Hello," SungMin chimed into the phone, sounding happy.

"SungMin?" It was HyeSu's voice on the other side of the phone rather than HyeKyung's, and if it wasn't for the great sound of sadness in her voice, SungMin would have believed the assumptions about HyeKyung only having left her phone at her family's house.

"Y-yes?" SungMin answered, afraid to hear what his girlfriend's older sister had to say with that kind of sorrow in her voice.

"I'm sorry we didn't call you earlier…" She said, and SungMin could hear the sound of tears threatening to come out as she spoke. It was at this time that SungMin stood from the couch and headed to his room, shutting the door behind hime.

"HyeSu, what's wrong?" SungMin asked, hardly able to find the words that he wanted to say.

"It's HyeKyung…" She said. "I'm sorry, I would have called earlier…but I didn't know how to break the news to you. On her way to my mom's house from the parking garage, she saw a little boy playing in the road and tried to help him…She did save the boy, but she ended up getting hit by a car in the process…"

That's when the world around SungMin went dark, but he didn't let that stop him. She was just hit by a car, right? There was no way that would kill her. There were many people who got hit by cars and survived. "She…she's okay, right?" SungMin asked, knowing that he most likely wouldn't get the answer that he wanted to hear.

"SungMin…" HyeSu kept on. "It's not very likely that she is going to make it…the car that hit her was speeding by a great number…the impact was too much…I'm sorry…"

At that moment, HyeSu heard the sound of what may have been the phone dropping to the floor. She was about to hang up when she heard SungMin's voice again. "Which hospital?" SungMin asked.

After receiving all of the information from HyeSu, SungMin hung up the phone and left from his room. The lovely couple were right outside the door, waiting for him. They knew something was wrong from the moment he got up and left from the living room. SungMin just pulled the two of them close to him, afraid to let go for he felt that the whole world had just abandoned him. "She's at the hospital…" Was all SungMin said, it was all he had to say to get them to understand. As sad as it was, he didn't even have to say for them to know what happened, it was obvious in the atmosphere.

The next thing SungMin knew, he was in the back seat of YeSung's car and they were already on their way to the hospital where HyeKyung and her family were currently waiting for them. SungMin, now, wished that her absence during the day was because she was breaking up with him. That would have been a much less painful way of leaving him as opposed to suddenly dying. From the sound of it, though, she wasn't dead yet. There was still a chance that she could make it. Sure 'not likely' meant it wasn't a very big chance, but there was still a chance. A chance that SungMin wouldn't lose the only person that he had ever cared about this way in his whole life. A chance that his friend's and her family wouldn't lose one of them most important things to them. A small chance, but a chance none the less.

A part of SungMin, the part that he wanted to listen to the most, felt that HyeKyung was a hero and lost her life in the most honorable way. There were so many stories and movies about people getting hit by a car to go after a ball that the kids let roll out into the street, but HyeKyung actually saved a kid's life in the risk of losing her own. SungMin was proud that his girlfriend had such a kind heart. Another part of him, the darker and more selfish part, wished that HyeKyung wouldn't be so caring and sensitive to the feeling of little kids and their parents. He wished that she wouldn't have been brave…or stupid enough to run out in the road after a small child. This, of course, was the part that SungMin tried so hard not to listen to, but his feeling were more submissive than he wanted them to be.

It was a little over an hour of a drive to the hospital, but not a word was spoke on the way. YeSung parked the care in the big parking lot and the three of them instantly got out of the car. It wasn't like they could do much here, it was already too late to say their goodbyes. SungMin just had to see her family. He had to make sure that ChangHee was okay, knowing that he likely watched it happen before his very eyes. It was on the way to his grandma's house from the parking garage, so there was no way that he didn't see it.

"SungMin!" ChangHee said as the big group walked into the waiting hall where everyone was aside from HyeKyung's mother and father, who were likely in the room with their daughter. ChangHee grabbed ahold of SungMin, hugging onto his waist tightly as he was lifted up into the older one's arms. SungMin loved ChangHee because the younger one adored him so much.

"You doing okay?" SungMin asked, looking at the little kid as the boy hid his face in his shoulder and cried.

HyeSu came up to SungMin and pulled him into her for a hug. "I'm sorry, SungMin…" She said. "You're too late…"

***At the funeral home***

The night that they had returned home from the hospital after HyeKyung's death, SungMin had went straight to his room and completely shut himself off from everyone else. EunHyuk and ShinDong, SungMin's two best friends, ended up hearing the dreadful news from the lovely couple since SungMin refused to talk to anyone. In the circle of friend's that these guys had, everyone was a lot like family. It was a big family built up of 14 people and their boyfriends or girlfriends if they weren't in the group of friends originally. Because of this, of course the death of Noh HyeKyung affected everyone. However, their biggest worries were all focused on SungMin as the boy had completely shut himself off from the rest of them that day.

Now, they were sitting in the funeral home. LeeTeuk, who used to live in the apartment with the lovely couple and SungMin, was sat on one side of SungMin, holding onto the boy's hand. EunHyuk, SungMin's childhood friend, was sat on the other side, holding the boy's other hand. EunHyuk tried talking to SungMin to bring his spirits up, but there was no success. The boy refused every attempt to making himself feel better.

ShinDong, on the other hand, was mainly focused with ChangHee, who had to watch his aunt get hit by a car and almost lose her life right before his very eyes. ShinDong, much like HyeKyung, always had a big heart for little kids, so it was only natural that he was occupied with the little one. SungMin would have been if he wasn't so caught up in his state of depression. It wasn't that the boy was being selfish or anything. There was no way that he would have any chance of watching the little or cheering him up when he was in this kind of mood.

They each got a chance to go up to the casket that HyeKyung was lying in and say a few words to her as a final goodbye. Of course her family got to say the first few words to her as they each up to the casket one by one. Afterwards, her mother was kind enough to let SungMin be the one to go next. The boy walked up to the casket, trying to prepare himself for seeing the lifeless body of his girlfriend for the first time. He looked down at her in the casket.

SungMin thought it was pretty funny that they said that people would look peaceful when they were dead, but that wasn't the case with HyeKyung. He could see the areas where the make-up couldn't hide the scratches and bruises on her beautiful face. She just laid there, in the casket, lifeless. It wasn't a peaceful kind of dead, she just looked dead. In the most painful ways that she could have been. If she'd have been sick and it was expected, the impact on SungMin's soul and heart would have been a lot kinder. However, it was a sudden and tragic lost, completely unexpected. There was no mental preparation, she was just gone.

In the end, SungMin just looked at her, never saying any words out loud. He couldn't get them to come out of his mouth as he stood there, just looking at HyeKyung. Of course she was beautiful, even now that she was lifeless, but she'd have been even more so if she were in his arms breathing right now. Instead of speaking the words out loud, he said them all in his head, knowing that if her spirit was around anywhere, she would understand.

As SungMin took his seat, everyone else took their turns in saying their last farewells to the girl. A great sadness was in the room at the sudden loss of the angel, and it was to be expected. Deaths that came suddenly and from no where always seemed to be the hardest ones to deal with since there was no time to prepare yourself for the pain that had yet to come. Things always impacted people more when they came suddenly.

When leaving from the funeral home, SungMin would not let go of his friend, EunHyuk. He kept a hold on his hand. DongHae, EunHyuk's boyfriend, held onto his lover's hand from the other side as they walked out to the vehicles. "Do you want to come home with me tonight?" EunHyuk offered his friend as they neared the cars.

SungMin shook his head, but didn't say anything. He suddenly pulled the younger one, mainly seeking comfort, even though it never felt like he was getting any even when he was right now. "Thank you for coming…" He spoke softly into the other one's ear.

"Are you going to be okay?" EunHyuk asked, pulling away and looking his friend in the eyes.

SungMin didn't say anything, he just nodded and that was all he needed to do. Because of the pain that the boy was suffering, no one expected too much from him right now. "Yeah, I'm fine." He said, giving EunHyuk a very slight, very fake smile. It was painful to even pretend to smile at a moment like this, but he really didn't need his friend to worry so much. After years of knowing EunHyuk, SungMin knew that the younger one was very sensitive towards other people's feelings, especially those he cared about. "I should go home though."

With that, SungMin got a hug from both EunHyuk and DongHae before heading back over to YeSung's car. Upon the arrival back to the apartment, SungMin did not return to his room like the couple expected him to. Instead, he brought out a big body pillow and laid it on the living room floor where he took his place. He didn't want to back into his room right now. He couldn't go back into his room. He didn't want to go back to his room and be secluded in silence, where his thoughts could only come out to haunt him and eat him alive. No, he needed to be out here. Out in the open where the sounds of people coming in and out of the house and conversing would keep his mind off of other things.

@KingdomHearts-You're writing style is good. Keep working on it and practice using various styles, I do that in one story and may throw people off. I like experimenting until I find a style I'm comfortable with.
