"And that is why the answer to this equation is 2."
RING! RING! RING!
The class sighed in their seats, glad that their Math lesson was over for the day.
"Alright class. Let's continue this tomorrow." Their teacher said, dismissing them for lunchbreak. "And don't forget to meet your homeroom teacher for the New Year's festival!" He called over the bustling students who were anxious to relieve their hungry stomachs.
“Kids today,” He muttered under his breath, arranging his papers and books. “always in a hurry.”
“Hey you four,” he called out to Seul Yeon, Eun Ji, Yoona and Sehun. “Aren’t you going for lunch?”
“We’ll be there in a while, Ho Jun Seonsaeng-Nim.” Sehun replied, flashing a smile at his Math teacher.
He just grunted and walked out the door, leaving the 4 students behind.
Eun Ji and Yoona raised their eyebrows at Sehun in amusement. Seul Yeon was just standing between them, not really knowing what to do.
“Yes Sehun?” Eun Ji asked, slinging an arm around Seul Yeon’s shoulders.
“Can we help you with something?” Yoona added, trying desperately to cover her big smile.
“I-I was wondering of Seul Yeon wanted to join me for lunch.” He said, awkwardly shifting his gaze from Eun Ji and Yoona, to Seul Yeon.
“Oh so that’s what you thought, huh?” Yoona wiggled a finger at him, not passing a chance to tease the couple. Seul Yeon groaned, slapping a hand on her forehead. They are not going to let this pass for a long time.
“Guys. That’s not really-“
“Tut tut tut.” Eun Ji interrupted. “You haven’t really told us the details yet, Yeonnie-ah.”
Seul Yeon flushed scarlet and stuttered.
“Y-yah! Can’t I talk to you guys later?” She ducked from Eun Ji’s arms and glanced at the other three. “And I know you both had something to with it.”
“Us!?” Yoona exclaimed, clutching her heart and feigning innocence. “Whatever gave you that idea?”
“Oh stop it.” Seul Yeon couldn’t help but grin at them.
Honestly. These guys are just too much sometimes.
“All right, all right.” Eun Ji rolled her eyes, chuckling. “Let’s leave these two, Yoona.”
Grabbing their lunches, they made their way to the cafeteria.
“See you later, lovebirds!” Yoona called over her shoulder.
“Aish. Those girls.” Seul Yeon muttered under her breath.
Sehun chuckled and slowly walked towards her. She noticed movement from the corner of her eyes and she turned, just in time to see Sehun by her side.
He’s a little bit too close. Seul Yeon gulped.
“So…” Sehun started. “About that lunch?”
“Oh. R-right.” Seul Yeon turned to her seat.
She bent down to retrieve something from her bag. Sehun snuck a glance and was surprised to see a colorful scarf wrapped in a square shape. It was a lunchbox.
“Is that your lunch?” he asked, crossing his fingers behind his back.
Seul Yeon clutched the box close to her heart and looked down at her shoes, flushing slightly at the intense gaze Sehun was giving her.
“A-actually, it’s our lunch.”
Sehun couldn’t help but feel like flying when she said those words. He smiled widely at Seul Yeon, who was still examining the floor.
She really made us lunch?
“Were you expecting to eat together?” he asked curiously, causing her to redden more.
“W-well, it’s what the girl normally does, r-right? And we are kind of…dating…r-right?”
Damn it. Stop stuttering, Yeon! She inwardly scolded herself.
Sehun felt like giggling uncontrollably from sheer happiness. But he stopped himself.
Men don’t giggle, Sehun! He sighed happily. She’s finally opening up to me.
“Yes we are, Yeon-ah.” He said, braving to touch Seul Yeon’s arm. It even made him more giddy when she didn’t pull away. “Let’s go, then.”
He got the lunchbox from Seul Yeon and slipped his hand in hers, pulling her to the direction of the cafeteria.
Seul Yeon felt her heart beating so fast from the touch. It felt… really nice.
I’m glad. She thought.
And thus the two, oblivious to the smiles of each other, went to the cafeteria.
