Taemin nervously dialed Key’s number. He figured he would feel guilty if he didn’t somehow pay Key back.

As Taemin waited for his call to reach the guy, he ate his breakfast and watched some morning television. He

was lucky the day he transferred was on a Friday. Now that it was Saturday, he had time to think about the

payment he owed Key. “Hello, this is Key speaking. Who is on the other end?” Taemin was surprised. Did he

hear a hint of politeness in his tone? No way. Taemin was sure Kibum would answer the phone saying: “What

do you want?” or “Make it quick, I have other things to do.” “It’s Taemin, and about the debt-” Key interrupted.

“Oh, it’s you.” Offended, he replied “What was that supposed to mean?!” “Nothing, just meet me tomorrow at

5pm at my house.” Key gave his address to Taemin, and then hung up. “Rude much…” But Taemin heard a

slight pang of sadness and exhaustion in Key’s voice. It wasn’t sassy, or loud and obnoxious as usual. He

wondered what was wrong.

     The rest of the day, Taemin either doing his homework or browsing the internet. His parents were out

somewhere, probably working. Soon it was night, and Taemin was bored out of his mind. So he went for a

walk.

     Outside, it wasn’t cold, but it wasn’t warm either. The wind was refreshing, and that’s how anyone going for

a jog would like it. And so, while Taemin was strolling, the weather overcame his feelings. He started jogging,

at a small pace. Then he started running. Now tired Taemin was at the park somehow. He took nice deep

breaths of the clean crisp air, and then looked around. Who did he happen to see on the swing set? It was

Jonghyun and Minho.

     You know what? Taemin decided he knew them both enough to give them a friendly scare. So he crawled

quietly behind a bush and waited. But their conversation was so intriguing he had to listen to it. This is how he

thought it went:

Minho: Key is acting strange. Today he didn’t even complain when I touched his things just to annoy him. And that is really something new for him.

Jonghyun: I know, when we met him at the mall today with Onew, he seemed really sad.

Minho: I think it must be his parents again. His dad probably brought in a new woman to the household.

Jonghyun: Yeah. I wonder why the headmaster always ignores his son’s and wife’s feelings.

Minho: The headmaster is pretty platonic to his wife which is weird considering he plays with the housemaids most of the day.

Jonghyun: Did Key tell you that?

Minho: No, the damn loudmouth Onew just had to spill the beans to me.

.....

Wait a second, did Minho just curse? Taemin realized he mixed up the two’s voices. Aigoo. Now Taemin was

confused at who was saying what. How in the world did he jumble up Minho and Jonghyun? Frustrated

and confused, he thought “oh well,” and sprang up from behind.

      “AAAAAH!” He yelled, making both guys jump at his high-pitched scream. Jonghyun fell, and Minho

composed himself, ignoring the fact that he was scared for a second. “Aish, Taemin, why the heck did you do

that?” Even though Jonghyun said that, on the inside he was all: ASDFGHJHGFDSASDFGHJJHGFD, I

THOUGHT THAT WAS THE FREAKING GIRL FROM “JU-ON”* AFDSADDFG. (Yes, Jonghyun still watches

horror movies even though he knows he will get nightmares and that the images will haunt him forever. He

doesn’t want others to think he is a scared of stuff like that. He has too much pride in him.) “Ahhahahah!”

Taemin laughed good-heartedly. “I scared you good, didn’t I?” And then Taemin just laughed again. “How long

were you behind that bush?” Minho asked sternly, lookin at Taemin with a steady stare. Taemin was horrible at

lying. “U-um, I got here just now…” And then he ran away, which was really the stupidest thing he could do

after his reply. Minho and Jonghyun didn’t bother chasing him, so he slowed down and went home. Taemin

took a shower, and then went to bed. He wished tomorrow would never arrive. But it did.

* "Ju-on" is basically the original Japanese version of "The Grudge", So Jonghyun watched "Ju-on" with korean subtitles.

A/N: So how was my poor attempt at comedy? Yes, I have been trying to make Onew funny in the last few chapters, but I guess I picked Jonghyun to be funny in this one.
