Chapter 1: Anticipation
SHINee: As a k-dramaTaemin was completely overwhelmed with happiness. He cried so much the letter in his hands was
drenched in tears. Being he was a student with average education, the fact that he got into a wealthy Korean
university was amazing. To think that all the studying he did to get into the school would pay off. Taemin’s
parents also rejoiced with him. They celebrated by eating steak for dinner with different kinds of milks (some
including banana, strawberry, chocolate, and blueberry milk.) That day was one of the most memorable one’s
he has ever had. It is too bad that in the first days of his new school he would regret taking that exam for the
university.
A week later he received his uniform and handbook (which was sort of like a planner, with a schedule and
map.) He was going to attend the university in a few days, and he was giddy with excitement. Oh, just the
thought of all the yummy food and luxury treatment he might get there drowned him in anticipation.
Fortunately, his father was a businessman, and his mother a well paid artist, so the expenses were not too
much of a trouble. But one thing did worry Taemin quite a bit. He was afraid of being bullied.
The reason why he transferred academies was because he was teased a lot in his last school. The
girls carried the most burdens for him. They would push him around, scream in his ears; even taunt him about
his appearance. The guys would corner him, sometimes beating him up, for “hogging” all the young ladies. He
couldn’t stand it. Reporting his concerns and problems didn’t help him at all. When Taemin told his parents,
their complaints to the school were never replied back to. The teachers, the principal, and the headmaster
thought the bullying would go away soon, making it appear like he was overreacting. So eventually he
removed himself from the torturous place.
The torment in his previous institution was also why he chose a safer, wealthy all boys college.
Academy inspectors gave good reports on the new university he was heading to. They spoke of how friendly
the students were, and how lovely the environment felt inside. What more, his good friend Onew was also
going to be at the same university. They had met outside a buffet. Onew was kicked out for taking too much
chicken, Taemin questioned him, conversation was started, and then they became friends. Thinking of Onew,
Taemin ignored his little thought about the small possibility of being taunted at his new establishment. He
waited eagerly for the day he would be present at his soon to be current seminary.
