Fujiwara Ai[Yui Aragaki] is a happy girl who's never fallen in love before. Her two friends, Ichimura Haru[Keiko Kitagawa] and Takasugi Sakura[Ryoko Hirosue] hook up Ai with Mukate Academy's(all boy school) most disliked person, Kuraki Tsuyoshi[Haruma Miura], on accident. Tsuyoshi soon falls in love with Ai and asks her out. After dating for six happy and perfect months, Tsuyoshi gains popularity, and starts ignoring Ai. Ai's friends say it's just a stage in a man's life, when he begins to get famous and thinks he good. Tsuyoshi is loving whenever Haru and Sakura are around. After six more months filled with depression, Ai decides to commit suicide. A few days after her death, Ai's parents want to have her funeral and burn all of her belongings with her. Tsuyoshi helps to move her stuff and goes into her bedroom to get some boxes. He suddenly looks over to her bed, and lifts her matress to find Ai's secret diary about her past year. He decides to keep it with him and not burn it, or tell anyone about it. Some say the spirits of some people linger in their most prized possession. Did Ai's soul stay with her precious diary?
