Beginning With Your Characters - Brief Introduction on Personalities and Goals
How To Write a PROPER StorySo, I decided to not do the example. Instead, because this may help everyone more, I'm switching the topic and will begin to dicuss legit writing (woohoo!). This will also kind of tie in with writing applications profiles, so at least it has something to do with the story.
Here's an important word for your dictionary:
Personalities
Definition: What your character is like. How they intereact, act, handle situations, etc. This is usually either developed through situations, or just something they're born with or interited from their parents.
example: In Autumn's Concerto, Guang Xi is a y law student. Cocky refers to his personality.
I suggest you make a note of these words and add them to a word document, or write them down. I know some of you might not be good with english, hence I'm adding these words :)
Anyway, I felt strongly about teaching you about characters for a very specific reason. Characters WRITE your story, they determine on where things go and their actions will either lead to drama, happines or anything else like disaster. So...characters are pretty important :D
This chapter will be a summarization of a little of what is to come, but it mostly list places in which you can find help when it comes to characters as the internet has a lot to offer!
Personalites are the most important aspect of a character since they define how your character acts and what messes or solutions they get themself into. For starters, it is important to get a word document with different personality traits and their definitions. Here is a small list for you to start off with:
- Cocky: Conceited or arrogant, esp. in a bold or cheeky way
- Compassionate: Feeling or showing sympathy and concern for others.
- Conceited: Excessively proud of oneself; vain.
- Vain: Having or showing an excessively high opinion of one's appearance, abilities, or worth.

Alright, so now that I've give you some traits, combine them and create a unique character! Keep in mind that there is one specific trait that conquers all the others, but we'll get into that in the actual legit personality chapter :)
I'm going to talk briefly one last thing and that's goals. They appear often and are there based on a characters likes/dislikes. So something like ruling the world, based on a characters determination and evil mind, or supporting children fundraisers based on a characters compassion and kind heart. Some goals are larger than others...making a lot of money could be described as a main life goal, while going to the hairdresser is just what we call "A Gotta Do It Now" goal.
This chapter has no assignement! :) Hope I helped and remember to ask questions!
