What Makes A Application Story Unique?
How To Write a PROPER StorySo, what do you need to do to create a good application story? What are the ingrediants? Well, that's an easy question! Someone has actually already asked how one would create a unique girl group fanfiction, and my response was very simple (though I did explain how to create it). If you want to create a good unique kpop application story, start by trying your best to avoid the usual girl group apply fanfiction.
There are several ingrediats needed to create a unique application story. Some of them are easier to come up with, while other ingrediants aren't. What you need in your application story is a combination of the following:
(a) A good strong plotline
(b) A good amount of possible character acceptances
(c) An easy to understand form application
(b) An interesting idea to help spice up the story.
It seems easy, right? WRONG! Application stories are just as irritating and hard as a regular story. In fact, they take more TIME and DEDICATION than other stories. This is because the applicant is applying a character and expects updates if they are chosen. Other applicants apply characters that symbolize themselves, therefore its almost as if they have applied themselves to the story. Updates don't need to come as frequent, but you do need to balance four and five plotlines.
Plotline
definition: a sequence of events that make up your story
example: "For your excercise today, write down your storys plotline and hand it in."
So...the first ingrediant to a good application story is...a good and strong plotline. Good and strong plotlines are hard to come up with, yet some written are based of off manga and other books. An example would be the first application story I co-authored for. It was a SHINee version of Ouran High School host club and the total subscribers was around forty to forty five. I myself did find this quite interesting that someone took the manga Ouran High School Host Club and created a apply fanfiction out of it. That with some patience got her all of those subscribptions and applications.
Coming up with a good plotline is essential when bringing in subscribers. The Title is only a summarization of your plot, therefore it too follows under a plotline.
Now what? Well, we've figured out what the most important part of a story is. Now we need to create one. If you want, you may use this idea as for your application story, but let me know before you do so I can put your name beside it.
Creating An Application Story
Step 1: Find Your Bias Kpop Groups
The characters don't have to be your bias group, in fact, instead of allowing your applicants to apply to one specific group, why not let them have freedom? Allow them to apply with any kpop group! Or (and very few people do this) any group at all! Believe it or not, not everyone on here is a fan of only SHINee or Super Junior, some people love groups like SS501, Arashi, Fahrenheit, S.H.E, Hey! Say! Jump!, etc. Some people are like me, and only apply if their bias or favourite singer is among those they can apply for.
Step 2: Claim Someone
This can be classified with the above step, but I thought it would be nice if ti were classified as its step! Claiming someone beforehand is important, just in case someone were to see your application story and want to apply to be with your bias. This only applies if your going to be in the story!
Step 3: Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? Part 1 (a.k.a the genre)
Is your application story a action packed drama? How about a vampire romance? Or maybe it involves...killer spiders from outer space? The limits to the storys genre and whats inside the story is in your imagination. You could very well take a drama like Autumn's Concerto (BEAUTIFUL DRAMA! YOU ALL HAVE TO WATCH IT! IT'S LONG THOUGH...I SKIPPED MOST OF IT! LOL!) or Fondant Garden (I'm going to wait until this drama comes to an end, next weeks episode is going to be SOO sad... :'( ) and make it into an apply story! :)
Step 4: Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? Part 2 (a.k.a The basic questions)
This deals more with the Who, What, Where, etc. etc. etc. It deals with the main questions you must have the answers for BEFORE startinf your apply story, or any story for that matter. I'll be talking about this later, but here are some questions for each category:
Who: Who are the main characters? Who is the "enemy"?
What: What happens in the story? What events lead to the problems?
Where: Where does the story take place? Where does the character find out about ____________?
Why: Why does the character do ____________? Why does this specific event occur?
How: How does the character deal with the issue? How does the end story start and end?
Step 5: Create The Application Form
Determine what you need to know about the characters. Keep in mind you need enough information to develop the character, but not too much as you might want to add some more information or spice to each character to make them unique as a lot of people are very...well they always hand in cliched characters even when you tell them not to. Details like clothing style or ulzzang aren't needed, but likes and dislikes, names and nicknames are needed.
Step 6: Make a write up on the story, then post it.
Formatting is CRUCIAL! It draws the readers in to read the application story and its synopsis, but you have to balance it properly. I'll be discussing formatting later, but not in this specific area. Check my application story Kpop Revival for any formatting idea's. :) And the graphic shop Shining Star Requests may work!
Now just sit back and wait! :) Update your story with anouncements and stuff on the progression of your idea's. People that way will take notice of your story, also use the sidebar to your advantage, but don't use it too often... LOL
That's it for this chapter! It's a little short, but I do have so much to talk about! The next chapter will be an example of me using the process I just listed in creating a application story :)
ASSIGNEMENT TIME
Please take your favourite drama and create a possible application story! Post it as a blog then send me the link :) An easy drama for beginners to use for this excercise could include: Boys Before Flowers, Hana Yori Dango, Hana Kimi, etc, If you want something harder, then try Autumns Concerto, Fondant Garden, The Devil Beside You, etc. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Sorry for the wait! I've been very busy lately! Tomorrow my brothers have a birthday party...with our two cousins and me, so it'll be very small, but I won't be able to update for awhile as I'm juggling four or five stories plus a new one that me and my friend are writing. It'll be Autumn's Concerto starring Kpop idols, Oc's, and everything will be written from the actual drama, so details and the spoken dialogue won't be made up...do you know it will take A LONG TIME!!????? Anyway...thanks for participating!
Keep those questions coming!
