Jeremy’s POV

With my head still under the cozy covers, I was swinging my hands aimlessly, trying to find the source of that irritating ringing noise. “Ouchhh!” Yeah you probably guessed it. My hand slammed right into the table instead.

All of a sudden I was awake and alert, staring at the reddened patch on my hand. It was already starting to bruise. Pouting a little, I deactivated the alarm clock in view. That was when I realized something pasted on the alarm clock. The little “post-it” read: Morning! Time to wash up, get dressed and fetch some awesome breakfast at the dining table. p/s: today’s menu says pancakes! (:

Looking around, I could not find that girl in sight but instead realized for the first time the blanket and knitted jacket lying on the couch. I could not understand what was going on until my mind cleared up, and I finally recalled yesterday’s unpleasant dinner. Letting out a short laugh, I wondered how she would feel if she had known I would have let the matter pass anyway even without all these that she has done. I do not usually stay angry at something past a day. It just did not make sense to do that.

“Good morning, Jeremy!” I uttered in the empty house and gave my body a good stretch before going ahead with the little “tasks” she assigned me on that little note.

Geun Young’s POV

Rubbing my hands together and pacing up and down the lawn, hoping to keep my body warm, I wondered how long more it would take before that golden-haired boy emerges from behind these closed doors.

It has already been almost forty minutes.

He did see the note on the maple syrup bottle right? Or is he not a maple syrup person? But he loves sweet stuffs so much. Trembling from the cold, it did not help that I was caught in the mental torture of whether to enter my house. In the end, I decided to endure a few more minutes. That was when I heard the door unlock and saw the familiar figure make his way towards me.

“Why are you waiting out here?” Jeremy asked out of genuine curiousity.

“Well,” I started awkwardly and caught myself puffing up my cheeks a little while trying to find the right way to put it across. “Well I was just afraid that you might not want to see me first thing in the morning,” I finally said and added after a slight pause, “and you probably wouldn’t want to hear me talk about that thing yesterday anymore so I could only think of no-“

I was caught off-guard when he ruffled my hair and laughed.

With that, he bent down till we were face-to-face before saying, “Seriously? You think too much, goldfish.”

For a few seconds, I just stared at him with my eyes widened in surprise. Did those notes work that well? Or is he just particularly forgiving?

“Stop staring at me like that,” He uttered before straightening his back. “So are we going back there now?”

Still looking at him, I nodded.

“Oh, by the way,” He said and added with a boyish smile before hitting me on the head.

I was knocked out of my daze to find a post-it stuck to my head. Taking it down, I found something written on it in a surprisingly pretty handwriting: Thanks for the blanket and jacket! You don’t look like someone who likes Minnie mouse though. Hahaha. But it’s good to indulge in a little childish fun sometimes, no? Pancakes were awesome. :D

I must admit though he was still teasing me even in his “thank you” note, it actually put a smile to my face. Weird but yeah, it seems like everything about him is weird. And now he is starting to influence me. When I finally looked up, he was already a few metres ahead of me.

“Hey! Wait for me!” I called after him. “And why goldfish?” I added upon my sudden realization before running towards him to catch up with his pace.

Jeremey’s POV

After I ruffled her hair, she seemed to have gone into a daze or something. She could not stop staring at me and it was getting a little weird. “Stop staring at me like that,” I uttered awkwardly before straightening my back. I thought my cheeks felt particularly warm for a moment so I looked away instead.

“So are we going back there now?” I asked, changing the topic.

She looked at me and nodded.

“Oh, by the way, thanks for the blanket and pancakes.” I added before going ahead.

Which idiot would stand out in the freezing cold, right outside her house, for half an hour for such silly reasons? I wondered while putting my hands into the pockets of my pants for warmth. Today seems colder than yesterday. She must be freezing by now. A short laugh escaped my lips but she was too far away to catch me in the act. It is hard to figure out how anyone can be this silly. Maybe she is the one that is hard to figure out.

“Hey! Wait for me!” She called after me. “And why goldfish?”

I could not resist the smile tugging at the corners of my lips.
