Ch. 20 - Tease

Second Chance

Chapter 20 – Tease

“W-what the hell are you!?”

“You can see me?”

Taeyeon was quite surprised. No, actually, she was more baffled. She didn’t think Krystal would be able to see her without the pendant on, but for some reason she can. The only question ringing in her mind right now is; how?

Krystal backed away when Taeyeon took a step towards her.

“Yah, s-stay away from me.” The young girl warned, her index finger shaking fervently at her.

Taeyeon took another small step towards her, which made Krystal instinctively retreat even more.

“Yah! I said stay away!” Krystal shrieked atop her lungs as she pulled her legs away from the girl approaching her.

Despite her pleas, Taeyeon continued her advancement, before bending down on one knee and burying her fingers beneath the sand to retrieve her pendant. The younger girl eyed her scrupulously as she did so.

Lifting her hand up, the sand that has gathered up in her hands slipped between her fingers, revealing the silver pendant resting on the middle of her palm.

Krystal arched a brow as curiosity delved in her mind as she eyed the shiny object in the older girl’s possession. “What is that?”

Ignoring the question, Taeyeon wrapped the chain around her neck and tied it in a messy knot. After she was done, she looked back down at Krystal with a serious expression and held out a hand out towards her.

“Krystal, we need to talk.”

------

The two girls sat side by side by the shoreline as Taeyeon explained her current disposition while Krystal stared off ahead across the horizon, listening attentively to the older girl beside her.

Taeyeon told the younger Jung everything; from the conversation she had with the Goddess, to the two conditions, as well as everything that happened throughout her stay thus far on Earth as a human being. She felt no reason to lie anymore or hold anything back since Krystal already found out about her secret. She just hopes the girl will believe her after she is finished with her explanation.

Krystal could not believe everything she was hearing right now. The things Taeyeon has revealed to her thus far sounded like a ten year old made it all up in their head. It was too surreal to be taken seriously. Well, who in the right mind would believe their sister was in a relationship with a spirit? She won’t, that’s for sure. Well, at least she thought she wouldn’t.

At first, when Taeyeon began her storytelling, she thought the girl was playing some sort of joke on her. Then the incredible things she demonstrated before her – the pendant and her ghost abilities – made her recant her doubts on the girl’s words. They were definitely no joke. The evidence were too great and too convincing to be false, therefore she really didn’t have a choice but to believe her words.

“But why am I able to see you?”

Taeyeon shrugged. She really doesn’t know how Krystal is able to see her either while the others couldn’t. It puzzled her deeply.

“Hm, perhaps it might be one of those things again…” Krystal murmured unconsciously.

“Those things…?”

Krystal broke from her reverie and turned to the older girl. “You see, before my grandparents passed away, they used to always tell me how I have the ability to sense the supernatural world. I really didn’t understand what they meant back then, but after their passing, weird things started happening to me.”

Taeyeon blinked. “Weird things? Like what?”

“I started seeing ghosts.”

Taeyeon blinked once more.

“Spirits like you. At first, I thought I was just seeing things, but then I saw the spirits of my grandparents. They even spoke to me.”

“Wow. That’s incredible” Taeyeon muttered.

“Tell me about it. It has been a while since the last time I interacted with a spirit. I knew when I met you there was something odd about you. I had my suspicions but I didn’t think I’d be right on the money with that one.”

“Is that why you don’t like me? Because I’m a spirit?”

Krystal shook her head. “It’s hardly the reason why.”

“Then why exactly don’t you like me?” Taeyeon’s eyes became solemn. Krystal couldn’t take seeing that so she looked away.

“Did I do something wrong?”

“No.”

Krystal could hear a relief sigh coming out from the girl beside her so she quickly added, “Well at least not yet.”

Dejectedness was evident on Taeyeon’s face once more. “What do you mean?”

“From the very beginning, I never trusted you. When Sica unnie told us how long you two have known each other, I immediately became wary of your intention with my sister, which in turn made me wary of your relationship with each other. I…I feel like your relationship was rushed. I don’t think you two have considered your feelings enough before you jumped into a relationship.”

Taeyeon furrowed her brows. “Are you saying I don’t love your sister? Because I do. I love her a lot.” She defended almost immediately, not liking the thought of the younger Jung doubting her feelings for Jessica.

“I didn’t say you didn’t. Sure you love her now, but what I’m more worried about is the future. What if in the future you suddenly decide you really don’t love my sister like you thought you did. You will only end up hurting her and she’ll be left alone again to deal with the heartache by herself. She barely survived Donghae’s passing, I don’t think she’ll be able to survive another wave of hurt, especially now that I know what’s bound to happen to you in a month. Thinking about my sister’s future is making me hate you even more.” She stated bitterly as she sent her a scowling glare. “And to be completely honest, I still don’t trust you and I still don’t like you.”

Taeyeon didn’t even flinch at her bluntness. Instead of raging at the younger Jung, like the latter expected her to, she broke their eye contact and stared off ahead at the horizon with desolate eyes. “I’m sorry you hate me.” She uttered in a low whisper, catching Krystal off guard. She let out a sigh before continuing. “But do you really think you’re the only one who hates me right now? Just like you, I hate myself too.”

For the second time, Krystal was taken aback. She didn’t expect Taeyeon to self-loathe herself.

The older girl continued.

“I know you’re worried about your sister, but do you really think you’re the only who worry about her being hurt? Every day, every hour, every minute I am with her, I contemplate about the same thing. Although I hate to think about it, it’s just an inevitable thought that comes to my mind whenever I’m with her. Do you know how much it to know that I, myself, who’s supposed to be protecting her, is also the one inflicting damage on her? Yeah, it big time.”

“If you knew you were going to hurt her anyway, then why did you even agree to be with her to begin with?” She was very curious and perplexed at the same time. Taeyeon knew full well of what the future entails them and how it’s going to deeply affect Jessica in the long run. If she knew, then why? Why still do it?

Taeyeon sighed. “I know I’m going to hurt her in the future, and yes, it makes me feel guilty and miserable inside, but I don’t regret my decision to be with her. No. Definitely not, because even though I know I will end up causing her pain, I also know that being with her in this relationship makes her very happy. And if it makes her happy, then I’m all for it.”

“But that happiness won’t last long.” Krystal deadpanned.

“Oh, but it will.” Taeyeon stated confidently, flashing Krystal a cheeky grin before returning her gaze forward.

Krystal scoffed at her incredulity. She was about to make a snide retort when she spoke again.

“Although it might not last forever, it will at least keep her happy until someone else comes along and takes my place in her heart. When the right person finally comes, then you and I won’t have to worry about her anymore. She’ll be able to live her life to the fullest, like how every human life should be lived.” She finished off. A bitter smile adorned her lips, her eyes filled with affliction. The thought of herself departing and someone else sweeping her lover’s heart makes her chest throb in agony. She doesn’t mind though. She already accepted her faith from the very beginning.

Krystal kept mum as she carefully took in the older girl’s words and solemn expression. Although she doesn’t like it, she does feel for the older girl a little bit. Knowing your destiny and accepting it wholeheartedly isn’t such an easy feat to do. She can empathize with her because she too has been through it once; when her parents divorced. It took her a long time until she could finally come to terms with destiny, but it only took Taeyeon a couple of days to accept hers. She thoroughly respects her for that. And although she’ll never admit it out loud, at least in her heart, she can admit that she’s beginning to like Taeyeon.

A small smile unconsciously formed on her lips as she continued to stare at the older girl with awe and complete adoration.

Taeyeon tilted her head sideways towards Krystal and was amused to see a smile on the latter’s face. “What are you smiling about?” She arched a playful brow.

Caught in action, Krystal’s cheeks automatically flushed pink. She quickly turned away to hide her reddened cheeks. “N-nothing. I was just thinking of something.” She stammered nervously.

Taeyeon let out a hearty laugh. Seeing the younger girl flustered is definitely an amusing sight. Could it be that she’s slowly thawing the ice princess’ frozen heart?

Kyrstal’s face turned even redder at the sound of the older girl laughing at her. “S-shut up!” She stammered as she violently pushed Taeyeon as a payback for making fun of her.

Taeyeon fell sideways from the sudden attack, groaning as she hit the sandy surface with her face first. “Ow! What was that for?” She pouted. She looked to her side and found the younger girl already scurrying back to the beach house.

“Yah! Krystal! Wait for me!” Taeyeon quickly scrambled to her feet and caught up with the girl.

Krystal looked over her shoulder and her eyes widened when she saw her running after her. She quickly hastened her pace.

“W-wait, Krystal! Does this mean we’re ok?” Taeyeon yelled after the girl brisk walking away from her.

Krystal abruptly stopped, causing Taeyeon to bump on her back in the process and for her to stumble forward. Once she regained her footing, she spun around and came face to face with a smiling Taeyeon.

“Are we good?” Taeyeon asked hopefully.

Krystal put on a blank face. “Maybe.”

She was about to turn around, when Taeyeon clung to her wrist.

Krystal looked over her shoulder with an irritated look.

“Sorry.” Taeyeon apologized sheepishly before quickly releasing the latter’s wrist.

“What is it?”

“Um, c-can you not tell Jessica that I told you about my unfortunate circumstance?”

“Why not?”

Taeyeon bit her bottom lip. “Actually, it was supposed to be a secret. She didn’t want me to tell others about it. She’ll get mad at me if she finds out I told you about it and you know how she is when she gets mad, right? Not pretty at all. So, Krystal, can you do that for me? Please.” She pleaded as she pursed her lips, unconsciously displaying her rare aegyo.

Krystal gulped. “Y-yeah, sure.”

“Omo thanks!” Taeyeon smiled gratefully.

Krystal gave a slight nod before turning back around and resuming her retreat to the beach house.

Not long after, Jessica came strolling out the back, a wider smile forming on her face as she caught sight of her lover. She jogged over to Jessica and met her half way.

“How did it go?” Jessica asked right away.

Taeyeon raised two thumbs at both side of her face, letting Jessica know of her accomplishment.

“Really?”

Taeyeon nodded. “Yup! She doesn’t fully like me yet, but I think she’s fine with our relationship now.”

“Thank goodness.” Jessica placed a palm over her chest and heaved a sigh of relief.

“Were you worried?” Taeyeon asked as she closed their distance, wrapping her arms around Jessica’s thin waist.

“A little.” Jessica admitted, snuggling up in Taeyeon’s warm embrace. “I would have been devastated if she didn’t accept us. She’s an important family member to me, at the very least I want all of my siblings to be accepting our relationship.”

Taeyeon smiled. “Don’t worry, although she hasn’t accepted it wholly yet, I believe she’s starting to warm up to us. Eventually she’ll be able to accept us without any problem.” She assured her as she ran her fingers through Jessica’s  brown locks, it ever so gently. Jessica instinctively shut her eyes, savoring the soothing touch. “You know, you two are quite alike.” Taeyeon commented.

“I know that already.” Jessica uttered a muffled reply through Taeyeon’s cotton shirt.

“No, I mean, you two worry about each other a lot.”

“Of course. We’re sisters for a reason.”

Taeyeon chuckled. “Of course.”

The smile on Taeyeon’s face slowly dissipated and was replaced by a forlorn expression when a thought crossed her mind. A sigh unintentionally escaped her lips.
Jessica immediately pulled back when she heard the sigh. She looked at Taeyeon with concern.

“What’s wrong baby?”

Taeyeon averted her gaze. “Nothing, really.” She lied, biting the inside of her cheek.

Jessica frowned. She knew she was lying, she could tell by her uncomfortable expression on her face. Her fingers tugged at the side of Taeyeon’s shirt, a pout protruding her lips as she urged the older girl to tell her the truth.

Taeyeon sighed in defeat. “Fine.” She acquiesced. For some reason, she can never deny her princess’ requests.  “I…I was just thinking- well, more like wondering- if I, too, had someone like Krystal. You know someone who worried about me when I was still alive.” She explained as she played with the hem of Jessica’s shirt. “A sibling or friend perhaps. It would be nice to know that someone like that existed for me during my time here on Earth. I’ve always wondered about that, even before I was sent here for my mission. It’s just a silly thought.” Taeyeon laughed it off like it was nothing, when in truth she wondered about it dearly.

Jessica knew and it saddened her that Taeyeon was trying to hide it from her. She cupped Taeyeon’s face in her hands and smiled at her tenderly. “I’m sure you had someone like that too, sweetie.” She assured her, her lover’s cheek very delicately with her fingers. “And it’s not a silly thought either, so don’t say that. I’m sure there were plenty of people who worried about you. But don’t dwell too much on it, alright? You have me now. I’ll always care for you and I’ll always be there for you.”

Taeyeon can’t help but crack a smile at her lover’s sweet words. “Of course. I’m so lucky to have you.”

Out of nowhere, her sweet Jessica assaulted her on the arm. “Yah!”

“Ow! Wh-what did I say!?”

“I’m luckier!” Jessica playfully stuck her tongue out at her. Taeyeon couldn’t help but chuckled at her childishness.

“Of course you are.”

“YO LOVEBIRDS!”

The couple halted their activities and shifted their attention towards the backdoor of the beach house, where Yonghwa stood, holding a plate of pancakes.

“Are you guys going to eat this? If not can I have it?” Yonghwa asked hopefully.

A fist struck him on the arm.

“Yah! You piggy! Don’t eat their food!” Tiffany scolded. “And why did you interrupt their moment!? It was getting good too!”

“Oww! Noona!” Yonghwa complained after receiving a few punches on the arm from Tiffany. He rubbed his aching arm with his free hand and pouted. “Aish…”

“Yah! Tiffany! We’re you spying on us!?”

Tiffany’s eyes bulged out from her eyes when she saw Jessica’s face darkening by the second.

“Uh, oh. Not good.” Tiffany mumbled to herself. “N-no! I did no such thing, I swear!”

Jessica took a step forward. As soon as she did, Tiffany dashed back inside the beach house in a flash.

“And you!” Jessica pointed a threatening finger at her younger brother. “Don’t you dare eat Taeyeon’s share!”

Yonghwa gulped. “I-I wasn’t going to! I was just joking, I swear!”

Jessica took another step forward. Before she could take another one, Yonghwa took off inside the house screaming, “Please don’t kill me noona! I’m sorry!” as he did so.

Once he was gone, Jessica doubled over and laughed out loud at her brother and her friend’s hilarious reactions to her, not-so-threatening threats. She can’t believe they actually fell for that. They’re so easy to fool, that’s why she just can’t resist teasing them.

A pair of slender arms slipped around her waist and a weight was placed on her shoulder.

“You’re evil you know that. So naughty.” Taeyeon teased as she planted a kiss on her jaw.

Jessica’s laughter died down, tilting her head to the side, meeting Taeyeon’s gaze.

“Oh, you have no idea how evil I can be.” She chuckled, wiping a tear from her eye. “You haven’t seen anything yet.”

Taeyeon raised a brow.

Seeing Taeyeon’s surprised expression, an idea popped in her mind. She grinned evilly. This is a good opportunity to trick her and determine how she really feels.

She placed a finger on her chin and tapped it as if she was contemplating something. “Hmm, actually,” Her gaze turned rather serious, catching Taeyeon off guard. She stared deeply into Taeyeon’s brown orbs, her eyes suddenly seeping with so much lust and want, making the latter gulp nervously at her intention.

“S-Sica—”

Taeyeon was quickly silenced by Jessica’s finger. Her eyes stared at the finger on her lips. The finger then made its way up, trailing feather light touches on her sensitive skin as it gingerly ascend to her cheek. The skin contact caused the tiny hairs on the back of her neck to rise almost immediately.

“You know, I can be very, very evil if I want to be…” Jessica spoke in a dangerously low whisper.

Taeyeon’s whole body flushed. Is it just me or is it getting hotter in here?

Taeyeon’s attention returned its focus on the younger girl when Jessica’s finger began travelling down her jaw line. Her finger moved painfully slow for her liking. Her skin shuddered unconsciously at the delicately warm touches, while her heart pounded rather violently inside her chest.

Jessica’s finger halted at the tip of her chin. Taeyeon bit down hard on her lower lip as she tried to suppress an oncoming moan threatening to explode in . A whimper accidentally came out.

Jessica smirked.

Taeyeon was startled when Jessica suddenly leaned in, her lips hovering just an inch away from her ear lobe. She could feel her hot breath brush against her skin as she exhaled through . In a seductive whisper, Jessica purred, “You know what? You might even get to see my naughty side very soon, if you know what I mean.” She pulled back slightly and gave Taeyeon a wink.

Taeyeon’s entire face flushed red in an instant. She lifted her chin from Jessica’s shoulder and stared at her with an incredulous look on her face as if she was crazy.

Is she being serious right now!?

She swallowed a huge lump in .

Jessica mentally smirked at the sight of Taeyeon’s aghast face. She was just teasing but it seems like Taeyeon took it a little too seriously.

Untangling Taeyeon’s arms from her waist, she took off for the backdoor giggling endlessly at what she had just done.

Taeyeon blinked several times, her eyes still glued at the closed door Jessica just disappeared to. She stood there for another minute, still dumbfounded at what just happened and trying to comprehend what it is that really happened. As she was lost in her own thoughts, she failed to notice a thick red liquid already dripping down from her nose.

------

“Taeyeon-ah…”

Jessica tugged once more on the pouting girl’s arm, but the latter doesn’t seem to take notice of her at all. Jessica’s frown deepened. Ever since her little joke on her earlier, the older girl has been adamantly ignoring her even after her hundredth apology. She wouldn’t even react to her aegyo like she normally do.

“Taengoo-ah, please don’t ignore me. It was just a joke. I didn’t mean any of it.”

Taeyeon abruptly stopped, causing Jessica to jerk back. She spun on her heels and flashed Jessica a hurt look.

Something in Taeyeon’s eyes made Jessica come to a realization. She squinted her eyes and stared intently at the latter.

“Wait a second…you’re not mad because I pulled a joke on you. You’re mad because you found out it was only a joke!” She gasped and placed a hand over her open mouth. “Omo, you—”

Taeyeon’s face flushed even redder.

Before Jessica could say anymore to embarrass her, she walked off ahead, leaving a stunned Jessica behind.

Tiffany, who saw the entire ordeal, came to her friend’s side. She clicked her tongue in disapproval. “See, this is why it’s not good to joke on people, especially when you take things too far. I always suffer from your pranks, now Taeyeon is too.”

Jessica placed her hands on her hips and turned to her friend. “Tiff, do you even know what we’re arguing about?”

“Yeah, you pulled a mean prank on her and now she’s upset. Isn’t that why she’s angry?”

Jessica rolled her eyes. “Not even close.”

“What? What do you mean?”

“Forget it.” Jessica began walking faster.

“Yah! Tell me what you mean!”

------

A little while ago, Krystal was walking with her Tiffany unnie and her Jessica unnie, but she ditched the two friends after they started arguing. Once she was far from the group, she slowed her pace down. As she did so, she noticed a person walking ahead of her; Taeyeon.

She decided to increase her pace to catch up with the older girl. Once she was right behind her, she slowed her pace and nonchalantly walked passed her. She was hoping Taeyeon would take notice of her. And as if God just read her mind, she heard her name being called by Taeyeon herself.

“Krystal!”

A small smile crept upon her face. She quickly put on her usual blank face and turned around. “Hm?”

“Hi. Um…what are you doing?”

“Walking. Obviously.”

“Oh, right.” Taeyeon was silent for a moment. She wanted to have a conversation with Krystal to get her mind off the incident earlier, but she doesn’t know what to say to the other girl. Not knowing what else to talk about, she just settled the first thing that came to her mind. “How are you?”

“I’m good.”

“I see. That’s nice.”

Silence.

“Uh, nice weather today, huh?”

“I suppose.”

Silence.

Krystal was starting to get irritated. She’s fully aware that Taeyeon is trying to get a conversation flowing, but her questions are just so…so stale. How the heck are they supposed to have a conversation if the topics are so dumb.

“So…uh…what did you—”

Krystal halted and glared at Taeyeon.“Yah, are you going to say anything important or are you just going to ask another meaningless question?” She suddenly snapped.

Taeyeon was taken aback. She didn’t expect her to lash out on her. “Um, s-sorry.” She apologized. “I just…wanted to talk to someone, but I guess I’m just bothering you. I’ll just…go.”

Without bothering to look back at the younger girl, Taeyeon trudged silently away.

Krystal mentally cursed herself for being so hostile. She didn’t mean to sound so cold, but she just couldn’t help herself. Aish, I need to do something about my temper. She mentally noted.

Not wanting Taeyeon to feel depress, she ran after the older girl. After catching up with her, she quickly muttered an incoherent apology.

“Huh?” Asked a confused Taeyeon. She didn’t catch what she just said.

Krystal fought the urge to groan. She really hates repeating herself. I guess I’ll let it go just this once.

Mustering up a huge breath, she repeated herself once more. “I said I…I’m s-sorry.”

Upon hearing the apology, a smile formed on Taeyeon’s face. “It’s ok. I know you didn’t mean it.” She said comforting the younger girl on the back. A chuckle emitted from when a thought came to her mind. “You know, you and your sister are really alike.” She pointed out. Krystal looked at her oddly. “What I meant was that, even when it comes to your cold personality, you two are still very much alike. Your temper too.”

Kyrstal’s features contorted in confusion. “What makes you say that? Did Sica unnie do something bad to you?”

Taeyeon looked away somberly. “Well, sort of. She kind of did it unintentionally.”

“Aish, what did she do this time?”

“This time?”

“This isn’t the first time she ‘unintentionally’ hurt someone’s feelings with her words. She’s done it to me, Tiffany unnie, Yong oppa and Donghae oppa. So what did she do to you?”

“Uh, I’m not really sure if it’s appropriate for me to be discussing this with you.”

“Why not? Is it because you think I’m too young to understand what you want to discuss with me? Because if it is, I can tell you right now, I’m more mature than I look.”

Taeyeon waved her hand defensively in front of her. “It’s not that, it’s just…it’s actually quite embarrassing.” She admitted shyly.

“Oh? What is it?”

Sighing, she decided to tell her. “Ok, I’ll tell you, but promise me not to tell anyone about this.”

“I promise.”

“Ok. Well, earlier this morning, Sica was…um…she was…saying things and doing things that were very suggestive. You know, that kind of suggestive.”

Krystal’s brows furrowed in confusion.

Noticing the girl’s perplexed expression, she explained further. “She was saying things like, ‘you might see my naughty side very soon,’ and then she started touching me everywhere. She was insinuating wanting to do that intimate activity with me. But me, being naïve and all, I actually thought she was being serious, so when she revealed that it was only a joke, I felt hurt and upset.” She frowned disappointedly.

“Woah! Let me get this straight. So you’re saying, you’re upset because you found out that unnie wasn’t being serious about wanting to have with you, not because she tricked you?”

“Yah! Don’t say it out loud!” Taeyeon complained as she pushed the girl slightly. She looked over her shoulder to see if anyone heard them. Thankfully, no one did.

Ignoring the older girl, she continued. “Answer the question. Is that why you were upset?”

Taeyeon nodded timidly.

“Omo…”

Soon, Krystal erupted into a fit of giggles. She couldn’t help it. Taeyeon being ually frustrated was just too funny.

“Yah! Don’t make fun of me!” Taeyeon pouted, her cheeks turning a shade of pink. She pushed the younger girl to make her stop. Unfortunately, that didn’t stop the girl from laughing her head off.

Taeyeon became even more flustered. “Aish, I knew I shouldn’t have said anything.” Huffing loudly, she briskly walked away with her head low and her face completely red from embarrassment.

Watching the older girl walk away, she quickly ran after her. “Yah! I was just kidding!” She caught up with Taeyeon, and to her surprise, she did something out of character. She impulsively initiated skin contact with the older girl as she wrapped her arm around Taeyeon’s own. Realizing what she had just done, she quickly retracted her arm away.

Before Krystal could reclaim her limb, Taeyeon clutched on to her hand, pulling the latter towards her body.

Krystal was stunned by the sudden skin contact. “Y-yah, what are you doing—”

Before she could finish her question, small fingers began attacking her side.

“Yah! D-don’t! S-stop! T-that tickles!”

Taeyeon smiled evilly. “No way! You and your sister aren’t getting away with your endless teasing scot-free!”

Krystal giggled nonstop as she struggled to escape Taeyeon’s grasp. Once she successfully wriggled herself out, she ran away as far as possible, still giggling at the tingling sensation Taeyeon’s attacks left behind in her stomach.

“Soojung! Come back here!” The older girl yelled after her.

Krystal looked over her shoulder and stuck her tongue out at Taeyeon. Her eyes suddenly widened when the older girl began pumping her legs faster. She turned back around and increased her pace before the other girl could catch up to her.

Unknown to her, all this while that she was playing along with Taeyeon, a huge smile was prominent on her face. Never has she felt this kind of happiness with anyone before and never has she felt butterflies inside her stomach either. Only Taeyeon has managed to do that to her. What surprised her more was that she actually likes it.

This Kim Taeyeon girl is really weird, but she’s definitely interesting. She’s starting to like her, a lot, and she wouldn’t mind getting to know her even more.

------

Jessica found Taeyeon sitting by herself on the sandy beach, watching Tiffany, Yonghwa and Krystal play in the water. Taeyeon wasn’t allowed to play in the water due of her stitches, that’s why she was sitting by herself. She approached the older girl and sat down quietly next to her.

“Taengoo…”

Taeyeon didn’t respond.

She has been blatantly ignoring the brunette as punishment for teasing her earlier. But of course the latter wasn’t aware of her intention. Jessica genuinely thought Taeyeon was upset with her that’s why she wasn’t speaking to her.

“I’m sorry.” Jessica apologized for the thousandth time that day.

“Are you really sorry?” Taeyeon asked in a whisper.

“Yeeess. I’m really, really, really sorry. I promise I won’t play another joke on you anymore. So please forgive me?”

Taeyeon sighed. “Fine.” She finally submitted. She can never stay mad at her anyway. “I forgive you. Come here.” She opened her arms for Jessica and the latter excitedly snuggled up to her lover.

Resting her head on the crook of Taeyeon’s neck, Jessica inhaled her lover’s familiar scent. It has only been few hours, but she tremendously missed Taeyeon’s warm embrace. She hugged her even tighter.

“Sica…” Taeyeon called out.

“Hm?” Jessica hummed with her eyes closed.

“About earlier…what you said…was it all a joke, or did you mean some of it?”

Jessica pulled slightly away and looked at Taeyeon in the eyes to see if she was being serious.

Taeyeon was a hundred percent serious. She was really curious to know whether Jessica was being sincere about her words earlier, even just a little bit.

“Were you?” Taeyeon asked with a tint of sadness in her tone.

“Of course.” Jessica answered right away. Her expression softened as soon as relief washed over Taeyeon’s eyes after hearing her response.

“Though I made it seem like a joke, I did mean some of it. The only reason why I joked about it was because I wasn’t sure whether you’re ready to do that sort of thing. Trust me, there has been plenty of times when I wanted to do it with you, but I held myself back for I knew you weren’t ready to embark on such a thing. Our relationship is fairly new and I wasn’t sure if you’re ready to take our relationship to the next level. The last thing I want to do is to force you to do something you’re uncomfortable with. I was only trying to hint my desire to do it, I didn’t mean to upset you. Sorry.”

“It’s ok.” Taeyeon assured her. “I wasn’t really that upset. I was more disappointed.”

Jessica raised a brow. “Are you saying you’re ready to have with me?”

Taeyeon’s eyes almost popped out of her sockets. “Woah! Hold up! I admit, there has been numerous times when my hormones has been out of whack and my body has been desiring such intimate contact, but I don’t think I’m ready to do such a thing. I mean, I do want to do that, but not now. Definitely not now. Maybe in the future?”

Jessica chuckled. She can’t help but gush at Taeyeon’s flustered expression. She’s so innocent.

“Alright, we’ll do it when you’re ready then.”

“Thanks.” Taeyeon smiled gratefully.

The two settled in a comfortable silence.

Jessica leaned her head back down on Taeyeon’s chest. Taeyeon slipped her arm around Jessica’s frame and held her tighter.

The couple sat there in silence with a content smile on their faces as they watched the trio play with each other.

Taeyeon was the one who broke the silence first.

“But you know, there is one thing I’m ready to do now.”

Jessica pulled away and stared at Taeyeon. “What?”

Taeyeon grinned.

“This.”

Without warning, she tilted Jessica’s chin and pressed her lips on hers. Taking in Jessica’s bottom lip between her lips, she kissed her passionately.

Feeling her favorite lips on top of hers, Jessica shut her eyes and leaned in further into the tender kiss, deepening it even more and savoring the wonderful sensation that has surfaced inside her stomach.

As the couple affectionately kissed each other, two pairs of eyes watched them enviously from afar.

A/N: Hello readers! Osashiburi minna! :D It means 'long time no see everyone' in Japanese ^.^ Lol, anyway so I tricked you guys. I know a lot of you speculated that Krystal is the third task, but in truth, Krystal is not the third task. The reason why she can see Taeyeon is because she has a third eye. I'm not sure how many of you believe in such things, but I do. Many of my relatives have told me stories about their experiences. I think I've seen a ghost before too, but I'm just too scared to admit it. Lol. I know many of you were expecting her to be the third task but she's not. Sorry to pop your bubbles everyone. Anyway, so Krystal's feeling a little something, something towards Taeyeon. Oooooh~ I'm not sure if I'm going to dramatized this, but we'll see. Oh and as I've hinted in this chapter, there will be an 'intimate' scene involving TaengSic (Rated R? ;)). It won't be anytime soon, but definitely sometime in the future.

Well that's it for now. Off I go to study for my test now. Huhu T.T

*Edit: For those of you who were confused at the end, wondering if I meant a pair of eyes intead of two, it's not a typo. You'll find out (maybe) who the other person is next chapter.

As usual, comments are very much appreciated! Thank you for reading and commenting! ^.^
