Minho couldn’t believe himself at the moment. And to be honest, he was certain that he would do more unbelievable things in the future now that he was here--here being, not in his new apartment and starting his new life as a university student, but heating up popcorn for three minutes to eat on his date with his odd and over-enthusiastic neighbour who only lived across the hall. He didn’t even know why he was even involved with Taemin. Aside from their living arrangements making it nearly impossible for them not to meet occasionally outside in the hallway, he really couldn’t find a reason.

Okay, he already knew that he was infatuated. And he didn’t dislike his neighbour as much as he did in the beginning because if anything, Taemin was the reason he wasn’t falling deeper in to his depression. But it was how fast and unexpectedly his infatuation was changing his original plans that he couldn’t understand.   It all felt like a dream, a good dream.    And then the dream would end whenever Minho blinked and saw that it wasn’t Seo Yun standing in front of him, but Taemin, the guy who annoyed him a lot in the beginning and followed no reasoning or philosophy for his actions that could explain why he was the way he was.   And yet here Minho was, infatuated with Lee Taemin.   The microwave alarm went off after the three minutes it took for the popcorn to become bigger and extra crunchy as requested by the awaiting date. And Minho took it out cautiously, but not nearly as cautiously as he acted when he was around Taemin, because that boy was unpredictable with his freely wandering hands and questionable absurdities.   Oh well, it was just how the boy was.    And if being infatuated and hanging out with Lee Taemin meant talking to ducks, throwing bowling balls at doors for attention, doing everything above the normal to sweeten his heartbreak, and wearing pyjamas instead of dinner clothes for an evening date, then so be it.   Minho was going to do many more unbelievable things.     \\~<3~//     Taemin struggled to keep his squeals and loud cheers in but it didn’t help that he was glowing with happiness and excitement, and that he could feel his feet lifting from the floor and meeting it over and over again.   “What is it?” Minho asked, eyeing him weirdly.   “You’re wearing pyjamas like I asked you to!” Taemin happily cried as he continued to jump and now point at his date. But the more he stared at the dark blue themed pyjamas, the quicker he felt disappointed. “But I was hoping that you slept in less clothing so I could see more of your skin. I got all excited for nothing!”   “It’s your own fault for being so erted!”   “No, it’s your fault for being y!”    “Right…” Minho wasn’t about to deny the compliment, but he knew that agreeing would open up a new conversation he didn’t want to be involved in. “Anyway, what films are we watching tonight?”   “Footloose and Twilight. Are they okay?”   “Yeah, I guess.”   “Don’t sound too enthusiastic now.”   Minho shrugged. “I’m just not a big fan of the dancing Kevin Pork-Chops.”   “Kevin Bacon.”   “Bacon, Pork, same difference.” Minho carelessly answered, not interested in the actor’s strange name. “And Twilight isn’t as romantic as people think it is because the best friend gets left on the shelf by the heartless female lead who is somehow in love with the arrogant and cocky male lead who thinks he’s all that because he can resist the urge to drink her blood!”   “Are you on team Jacob then?” Taemin was curious and he figured his date had already watched Twilight, but he couldn’t tell why or how many times. And he did understand what Minho was ranting about, but he didn’t agree because he saw so much more to the film.   In any case, his thoughts about Minho were actually true. His recent break-up with his girlfriend had given him enough time to watch the entire Twilight series and chalk them up to a plot that he could rant about effortlessly.   But he wasn’t about to admit any time soon, especially not to Taemin.    “W-What are you talking about?! I-I’m just giving my opinion!” Minho shouted, thinking that if he protested loud enough then he’d be believed. “Seriously! It’s n-not like I spent the past week watching it because I was d-depressed or anything, s-so don’t m-misunderstand!”   “Okay, Minho.” Taemin nodded, unconvinced. “But I think I know why you’re really acting like this.”   “Y-You…You do?”    “Yeah. And it’s fine, really. I know now that you wanted me to pick a dirty film for us to watch so that we could get in the mood.”   “N-No, absolutely not!” Minho yelled, and he could feel his face heating up more by the second.   “It’s okay, hyung.” There it was again, the honorific that Taemin was either obliviously or intentionally using to drive the older man crazy. “Every guy has needs, including me. And it’s okay if you want me to help you with yours. In fact, I volunteer--No, I strongly insist!”   “I-I told you, that’s not it!” Minho shouted again, but more at his fantasies because he couldn’t let them wander further than the image of Taemin laying underneath him and touching him and making him feel so much pleasure.   “Then why are you blushing, Minho?” Taemin laughed, feeling excitement coming back to him again. “And don’t even think about lying to me because I know that’s not a phone in your front pocket.”   “Damn it, play the movie already!”     \\~<3~//       They sat together on the couch under a thick warm blanket, with a bowl of popcorn in between them to share and with their eyes fixated on the first film of the night.   Taemin explained to Minho (who had been deprived of movies for a while thanks to his university assignments) that Footloose is about a teenager from the city struggling to fit in to a quiet and small town because of their laws against playing music and dancing, which they set in place after a tragic accident that killed a couple of high school students when they were coming back from a party with friends. They were watching the 2011 modern remake that starred Kenny Wormald instead of the 1980’s classic which had Kevin--Pork Chops--Bacon.   Minho guessed that, from the description alone, the film would have a lot of drama, yelling and angry words. And he wasn’t wrong, because the main character was a youth set on being rebellious against the ridiculous laws. And as expected, there were adults that didn’t agree.   The film had gotten to the scene where Ren was about to unleash all of the anger and frustration he had built up in one powerful dance in a vacant warehouse.   “You’ve got your music playing really loud, Mr. McCormack.” Ren says out of mockery as he remembers the first time a police officer stopped him for playing music too loud in his car. “Try being a cop in Boston, you bastard!”   “Mind your attitude, son.” He remembers the cop saying back to him, unimpressed.   “Shut up, I’m talking! And don’t act like you know anything about me or my mother because you don’t know !”   Taemin quickly pulled on the sleeve next to him. “Minho, you have to watch this part, he’s really good!” He called, nearly screaming like an obsessive fan.   Minho didn’t see anything special about the rebellious teenager swearing and whining, but he obeyed anyway. But before he faced the screen, he didn’t miss the way Taemin’s eyes glowed as he focused on the film and watched the scene unveil before him.   The male lead, Ren McCormack, his iPod to play a heavy and catchy beat that he immediately began moving to as he got in to the rhythm of it and felt his bottled up feelings slowly release. And as the music became faster and more dangerous, so did his moves, which also became sharper, fiercer and more graceful. As a gymnast, Ren owned a flexible and very fit body, and he took control of it and performed flips, turns and high jumps. He also broke a few windows and furiously shook his hair to make it look wild because he felt that way in the heat of the moment.   Taemin practically jumped out of his seat to cheer, and then he turned to his un-impressed date with hearts and stars in his eyes. “Ren is so amazing! Minho, don’t you think Ren is amazing?! Did you see how he danced?! It was like his body was reciting a poem!”   “That was dancing?” Minho asked, unconvinced.    “Well, he wasn’t just jumping and screaming all over the place like he had lost his mind!”   “….Are you sure that wasn’t it?”   Taemin sent him a glare, but it quickly softened once he sat back down to enjoy the rest of the film. “Forget it, I wouldn’t expect you to understand when you can barely stand on ice.” He said, in a mocking way.   “Dancing and skating are two different things!”   “They are not!”   “Yes they are! Ice is slippery and normal floors aren’t!”   “But the steps are the same!”   “Aish, yeah, yeah, whatever.” Minho could see that he wasn’t going to win, and he didn’t want to upset the boy if he happened to, so he left things there.   He also didn’t complain when a handful of popcorn was thrown at him, not that it hurt in the slightest, because Taemin was happy to eat it off him afterwards.     \\~<3~//     The Twilight sequel ‘New Moon’ was on next, which is the one Minho might’ve been ranting about earlier since it didn’t take long for him to get going again.   Taemin nodded and answered with small mutters of ‘uh huh’s’ here and there when he could as Minho complained about how Jacob Black--the best friend--was always put away on the shelf like an old toy that the female lead, Bella Swan--who Minho had issues with, would only pick up and play with when her new favourite toy, Edward Cullen, wasn’t available.   It was a twisted love story in Minho’s eyes with way too many sacrifices and useless sappy scenes. And it looked as though more complains were about to come as they watched Bella confront Jake at his house in the pouring rain because he had consistently been avoiding her.   “Go away, Bella. I don’t want to talk to you.” Jacob tells her for the thousandth time, wanting nothing but for her to leave for her own sake.   “Jake, what’s wrong with you?!” Bella says, still trying to get through to him. “You’ve been avoiding me ever since we went to the movies and I can’t figure out why!”   “Please, you have to stay away from me. It’s for your own good.”   “…I don’t get it.” Bella whispers, feeling hurt and confused. “What’s happened to you between now and when we last saw each other? Is it something that I’ve done or said? Jake, please answer me!”   “Sorry, Bella. But…”   “But what? Just tell me!” Bella cries as she grabs hold of him, not about to let her best friend slip out of her life just as her boyfriend had. “I know I’ve been acting strange, and it hurts me as well! But you’re my best friend, and I--”   “Bella, stop it!” Jacob cuts in as he pulls her arms off him. “It’s not about you, okay?! I’m the one who’s acting strange, and I can’t let you deal with me anymore.”   “W-What are you saying, Jacob?”   “…I’m not good for you, Bella.”   It was a heartbreaking yet touching scene between friends who were both at a standstill in their close relationship. One of them (Bella) needed the other to stay at their side because they wouldn’t know what to do if they lost their best friend after their true love had already walked out on them. And the other friend (Jacob) didn’t want to be used and needed their friend to want them to stay with them but not because their partner wasn’t around.    Taemin watched the scene with interest, but felt no sympathy. “Jacob has really good abs!” He said excitedly, and he continued to drool over the shirtless guy. “Oh yes, I would definitely honey off those any day!”   Minho scoffed and threw an irritated and shocked glare at him. “That’s what you’re commenting on right now?” He questioned in disbeli
