"Baekhyun-ahh, time to get up." Joonmyun called out as he knocked on the door of Baekhyun's bedroom."

Groggily, Baekhyun got up and rubbed the tiredness off his eyes as he walked to the bathroom. Splashing cold water in his face, he gave his face a good look in the mirror, disheveled hair, bare face and dark bags under his eyes decorated his face. Attempting to fix his bird's nest of a hair, he grabbed a comb and untangled his hair. After several attempts, he sighed as he put down his comb, and stared at his attempt at fixing his hair. It still looked slightly messy but at least it's still presentable. Stepping out of his bedroom, he nearly bumped into a tall figure. Looking up at the boy's face, he felt his heart skip a beat as he met the boy's eyes. He'd be lying if he said that the boy wasn't good looking, with his tall, model-like statuesque, pointed ears and bright sparkling eyes, it was enough for anybody to fall for him. And Baekhyun was not an exception.

"Good morning Baek!"

"Oh, g-g-good morning Chanyeol." He greeted back.

"Let's go down stairs and grab some breakfast shall we?" He flashed a smile towards the smaller boy.

He nodded wordlessly and followed the taller boy down to the dining area.

Mealtime was the usual, the beagle line messing with KyungSoo and the maknae line as Minseok and Luhan ate wordlessly while Joonmyun and YiFan made sure that things don't go flying out of hand. Literally.

"Baekhyun, you and Chanyeol will have a shooting for Nature Republic tomorrow, please don't forget." Joonmyun reminded.

"Yep, thanks hyung." Chanyeol replied between mouthfuls of egg and rice.

"Will it just be the two of us?" Baekhyun asked.

"Last I heard, yes. We've all got individual schedules tomorrow and manager-hyung said that only the two of you will be going."

Baekhyun nodded as he took a sip of water before pushing his chair away and standing up. "I'll go first hyung."

The following day, Baekhyun woke up with Joonmyun's knocking once again. He was feeling tired as hell but he had to do the shoot. He wasn't feeling entirely cheerful that morning but to his surprise, Chanyeol came bouncing out of his room, beaming widely as if they didn't have to stay up until 3 a.m that night because of dance practice. That was one of the things that Baekhyun admired about Chanyeol. No matter what situation he was in, he never failed to put on that bright smile on his face. It was highly infectious, in Baekhyun's opinion. Every time Chanyeol will walk into a room, he would never fail to brighten up the whole room. So it wasn't a surprise that when Chanyeol smiled at the smaller male, he couldn't help but smile back despite his exhaustion.

"Are you excited Baek?"

"Yup, but still tired." Baekhyun pouted but smiled at the taller man.

"Aww, it's okay Baek, you can sleep on our way to the site." He looked at the shorter male as he flashed his smile once again and ruffled his hair. “You do look a little tired."

"Hey! Don't treat me like I'm the younger one when we're both the same age." Baekhyun whined.

"Sorry, sorry." Chanyeol raised his hands up in mock surrender. "Anyways, we better get ready. I'll see you later then." He gave Baekhyun a pat on the shoulder before walking to the kitchen to grab some breakfast.

“Baek, Baekhyun-ahh. Wake up. We’ve arrived.”  Chanyeol said, shaking the sleeping boy softly.

Sleepily, Baekhyun opened his eyes to find out that he was sleeping quite comfortably on the taller boy’s shoulder. Yawning he sat up straight and prepared to get off the van.

During the photoshoot, Baekhyun couldn’t help but marvel at his best friend’s looks. Sure he’d always looked attractive, but watching him this time felt different. Chanyeol was Baekhyun’s first friend when he first came in the company and the shorter boy immediately felt an attachment to the giant. His easy-going attitude and bright personality became the reason why he and Baekhyun started hanging out. It wasn’t long before the two were considered best friends.

“Baekhyun-shii. Your turn.” The staff called out.

As Baekhyun walked in front of the camera, Chanyeol approached him and gave him a soft pat on the back. “Good luck.”

As Baekhyun began posing, he saw Chanyeol watching him from behind the staff and he can’t help but feel all fluttery inside. Especially when he met the other’s eyes, he felt his hear beat faster, and a slow blush began creeping up his cheeks.

The ride home was strangely longer, in Baekhyun’s opinion. Or maybe it was just the fact that he wanted to get away from the taller boy as soon as possible. He doesn’t know why but right now his number one mission is to avoid being with Chanyeol alone at all costs.

Dinner was rather quiet that night; given the fact that one member of the beagle line, Chen, was still in recording. Baekhyun made no effort in trying to liven up the mood, too busy ignoring the giant who, in turn, was staring at shorter boy in concern and confusion. Noticing the tension, Joonmyun attempted to break the silence and cleared his throat. Before he can say anything however, Baekhyun pushed his chair away and stood up. Sighing, Chanyeol too pushed his plate away, along with his half-eaten dinner, declaring that he too was done eating and will take a shower.

"What happened between those two?" KyungSoo asked.

"I don't know. They didn't say a word the moment they came back from the photoshoot. In fact, I don't think they spoke to each other since then. The two have also been quite gloomy since then." Sehun spoke as he poked the remains of his dinner with his chopsticks, looking gloomy. "I want the old Chanyeol and Baekhyun back, it's too quiet."

"What can we do to help when they don't even want to talk about it?" Jongin asked.

"I'll try to talk to Baekhyun, maybe I can get him to talk to me." Joonmyun suggested.

"Meanwhile, Jongin you try to cheer up Chanyeol. He's always taken quite a liking to you." KyungSoo suggested. Jongin nodded.

"Chanyeol-hyung?" Jongin knocked on the bedroom door.

Silence

Opening the door, Jongin peeked inside the room. "Chanyeollie-hyung?" He called out before stepping into the room.

Chanyeol looked up from his bed, "Ohh, Jongin-ahh, I didn't realize that you we're there. What's up?" He flashed his favorite dongsaeng his signature teeth-rich smile.

Jongin walked over to Chanyeol's bed and wrapped his arms around the older boy, burying his face on his chest.

"What's wrong Jongin?" Chanyeol asked as he patted the tan boy's head

"I should be the one asking you that, you were really quiet earlier at dinner. Is something bothering you hyung?" The younger one looking up to meet the others eyes.

Chanyeol looked down; avoiding the other's eye "It's nothing."

"Chanyeol hyung, I know you. It's not like you to be this quiet. I know something is up. You can tell me hyung." Jongin said, sitting down and looking straight at his hyung's eyes.

"I'm fine Jongin." Chanyeol said, looking away from Jongin's pleading eyes.

"Hyung, please look at me."

Chanyeol refused to look at the younger male.

"Hyung please." Jongin pleaded, reaching out to turn the older's head to face him.

Locking eyes with the older boy Jongin slowly leaned in, eyes never leaving the older boy's. Chanyeol slowly closed his eyes and his and Jongin's lips drew closer. Just as their lips were mere centimeters away from each other, a loud bang echoed around the room and pulled them away back to reality.

Chanyeol eyes widen as he let out a breath. "Baekhyun-ahh"

"Baekhyun, what~"

Joonmyun was sitting by the kitchen table when Baekhyun stormed out of the dorm, furious.

Baekhyun ran. He had no idea where he was going but he just ran, ran to wherever his legs took him. He was mad. He has no idea why he's mad at the moment but right now, he just wants to get away from Chanyeol. Was he jealous? He'd always thought of Chanyeol as his best friend. But is he just his best friend? Images of Jongin leaning forward and Chanyeol closing the distance between his and Jongin's lips filled his mind once again and it made his heart ache terribly. He wished that it was him that Chanyeol was kissing. He wanted Chanyeol to be his. But what was it that is holding him back? Baekhyun hated to admit it, but he can't afford to lose his precious friend. He's worried that he might sabotage anything that they have. He's not the one to take risks. He's afraid.

The silence was even thicker that the day before if it was even possible. Baekhyun came back to their dorm in the middle of the night without any of his band mates knowing. Joonmyun was already on the verge of tears worrying where his fellow band mate has gone to. Relief washed over him when he saw the younger one walked out of his room, looking tired and slightly down but at least he's back. Joonmyun wanted to ask where he went but the look on Baekhyun's face told him not to.

*Flashback*

"Baekhyun-ahh" Joonmyun knocked on the main vocal's room as he peeked inside only to find the singer plopped down on the bed face first.

"Baekhyun-ahh, what's wrong? You seemed too quiet over dinner today." He said as he walked over to the smaller boy and caressed his hair gently.

Looking up at their leader, Baekhyun's eyes were filled with confusion and fear. "Hyung~" He whined as he leaped up and wrapped his arms around their leader, burying his face in his chest.

"Talk to me Baekhyun, what's wrong?" Joonmyun asked as he pulled the younger off his chest to face him.

Baekhyun looked at Joonmyun, tears threatening to fall. "Hyung, I'm so confused." He managed to say before tears finally falling down his cheeks.

After calming down, he looked up at their leader. "Thank you hyung, I’m feeling much better now." Baekhyun smiled at their leader.

"Now will you tell me what happened between you and Chanyeol?" Joonmyun asked.

Baekhyun took a deep breath and wiped the tears off his eyes, “To be honest hyung, he didn't really do anything to me but..." He trailed off.

"Baekhyun?"

"It's just; I really don't know what to do. I'm afraid he might not feel the same way. I don't want to ruin our relationship hyung. I don't want to lose him." Baekhyun sighed.

"You love Chanyeol, don't you Baekhyun?"

Baekhyun nodded

"But you're afraid he might not love you the same way and you don't want him to feel awkward around you when he finds out about how you feel."

He nodded once again.

"Oh Baekhyun, you'll never know if you don't ask right? You should talk to Chanyeol. He might be feeling the same way." Joonmyun smiled at the other.

"I guess you're right. But what if-"

Joonmyun cut him off. "You don't have to worry about that now. But from the way I see it, Chanyeol seemed awfully worried with your quiet demeanor earlier at dinner. You should at least talk to him about that." He smiled at the boy.

Sighing, Baekhyun sat up. "I guess you're right" he said before standing up and walking out the room"

He stood in front of Chanyeol's door for quite a while before deciding to peek inside. What he saw made his heart drop. Jongin was sitting beside Chanyeol, one hand supporting his weight while the other was holding the taller male's head. He has his head tilted to the side as he began to lean forward Chanyeol who was propped up on his elbows with his eyes closed, waiting for their lips to make contact with each other. His heart began to ache terribly that he could no longer keep looking at the sceen in front of him. Slamming the door shut, he ran out of the dorm, ignoring their leader. He needed to get away from there. He needed to get away from the pain.
