Hi everyone, first I want to mention that PD Angel is very much still in the works, and I’m getting back my passion for it!

But this is a story idea I’ve been working on for a little while now that means a lot to me.Β 

I had this idea of an aesthetic I wanted but couldn’t find any layouts that quite fit, so for the first time I attempted making my own layouts. I was only able to get anywhere thanks to Edelweiss open source codes. I still don’t understand code very well and mostly just used bits and pieces of code by Dee and just tried to make it look/work okay.

I still have a few things I need to do before opening up for apps, but I’ve already put a ton of effort into this story and I think I have some anxiety that due to the community being slower these days, what if I’ve put my energy into something that won't gain any traction?

This is no way me trying to guilt trip anyone, I just want to gauge interest while I’m finishing up on some things. There is more clear info to come but, if you look at the tags that should give you a pretty clear idea of the genre.

Inspiration (some story wise some aesthetics-wise) Doki Doki literature club, New jeans (specifically ditto) Billlie’s lore, creepy ARG vibes, epistolary horror video games.

Reel girls debuted in 2020, from a brand new company founded by a couple that were already respected and known in the industry.

Using social media in new ways helped develop a close parasocial relationship with their fans. It didn’t take long for them to gain popularity.

They had a refreshing sound and concept that came across as relatable and down to earth. It appeared as if the members had a decent amount of creative control despite being so young, and seemed to have a close relationship with the CEO’s and staff.

Releasing hit after hit, and breaking new records left and right, it felt like their popularity just kept on growing.

And then one day they were gone, not long after their comeback with the song ditto. all their social media and anything connected to them went dark.

At first, fans thought this was some kind of marketing stunt or even ARG, due to the creepy concept that was present in the music video. But months went by and there was still no news.

Theories began popping up, that the girls were actors. It was a social experiment; they were actually missing. Forums became dedicated to the mystery of the reel girls and why they went missing overnight.

I just wanted to say that your fic is insanely amazing, i was drawn to it almost instantly and i've been working on my app! fortunately for me it isn't because anything is complicated or too hard to edit in the app, it's because i'm busy with school and i want to give my app 100% attention, and i havent been able to, so that's my issue entirely, which I appologize for because if i jsut took a day to sit down i know i'd be able to finish it ASAP, T-T sorry about that a ton. I speak for my self but i'm sure there are a lot of people who haven't lost interest, just busy. life doesn't slow down for anybody unfortuantely ):

Chapter 7: Hi, it's me again! I'm so sorry I haven't been commenting on the story lately, but I've been keeping myself updated with the story and I really appreciate the tremendous effort you've put in it thus far.

Applying for Reel Girls has always been something that I want to get to eventually, but I haven't been able to find an idea that sticks for a substantial period of time and I'm fully convinced by. Also, I have been very busy with school work since the start of this year, and it's draining enough to the point where I really don't have the energy or motivation to make characters. Of course, I understand that this is a "me" problem and I don't really feel like doing something that requires me to think very much if I can help it. Please be rest assured that I still have interest in submitting a character for this story, but I want to preempt you that I can't guarantee that I'm able to do so. If I do actually get to writing an app, the earliest that I can really commit to doing so is sometime in May (as it's nearing finals for me at the moment).

That being said, I haven't tried editing or putting any information to the app you've provided, so I can't really comment much on how easy or difficult it is to edit it. I will say, though, that it looks rather wonky on mobile.

As for the information you need from apps, it's admittedly more information required as compared to some stories I've applied for, but it's not the most demanding app I've done thus far. So please don't worry too much about it, I completely understand why you need those information, especially when the story is dealing with some very problematic aspects of the K-pop industry.

I don't think there's any problems with app or the information you need. It's just that as this story deals with some very dark topics that can be triggering for people, so it may not be for everyone. As for appliers, I think it simply just boils down to busy or tiring schedules in real life that affects our ability to make characters (like myself), which is out of anyone's control. If it helps, I often like to leave the editing of the layout to the end, after I have finished writing out all parts of the app.

All in all, I really want to applaud you for having published this story in the first place. I wish you all the best, and I hope that you'll get characters that you enjoy reading and can envision them being an integral part of this story <3

Chapter 7: hi! i must admit that i was one of the ppl intimidated/put off by the amount of info you were requesting ;; so i would definitely appreciate it if you nixed some info. as for the app layout, i'm honestly fine with it. maybe it's because i haven't delved too deep in? either way, that's not the main thing keeping me from working on my app HAHAHA

i trust you to make the best decision! i know not requesting as much info comes at a cost of not being able to write as detailed characters, and it would take some work switching app layouts as well.

Chapter 7: I may not make an app after all because while going through some of the app sections I realised it was too much for me to deal with at the moment (not in terms of the story's subject matter but because the questions required me to confront my own trauma which is something I'd rather not do for an applyfic app). All the best for the story tho and I will try my best to stay and read even if I don't submit a character.
