“Do you think you could make it to my next recital? I’ve been practicing really hard and I thi–”

“Of course I’ll be there Kyungsannie. I know I’ve missed so many of them and I’m sorry for that. But from now on I’m going to go to every single one of them, arasso?”

Kyungsan watched as his mother’s eyes bulged out and she spluttered, seemingly choking on the air she was breathing. Her face was turning a slight purple colour and he was about to scream for his mama for help when his mom managed to take a couple deep breaths in, pounding on her own chest to compose herself a bit before answering.
