Chapter 5

Hotel Euthanasia

“Thank you,” B.A.P bowed as theythanked the audience for their long round of applause. “We’ll be back here to perform in two days.” Yongguk announced with a smile. “Please look out for it!”

With that, they bowed one last time before making their way off the stage.

“I’ll meet you guys later,” Daehyun said as he patted Youngjae’s arm before walking off in the opposite direction of the door.

Youngjae’s eyes followed to the direction Daehyun was walking, and not to his surprise, it was the young girl Daehyun was talking to earlier. “Good luck, lover boy.” Youngjae chuckled as he followed the rest of the members.

“Don’t tell anyone else,” Himchan leaned in to whisper into a woman’s ear at one of the tables. “But you’re the most beautiful lady in the room.” He whispered with a charming smile.

The woman giggled as she slightly covered her blushing face, “why thank you.” She thanked as she leaned in to get a better look at Himchan.

“Now tell me,” Himchan started while taking a seat next to the young woman, “why is such a gorgeous lady doing alone here tonight?”

“She has a boyfriend,” a deep, angry voice said.

Himchan turned his head to face the tall and muscular man that was staring down at him. “W-What?”

“What are you doing with my girlfriend?” The man asked as he cracked his knuckles and gave Himchan a deathly glare.

“N-Nothing,” Himchan stuttered. “Such a handsome man with such a beautiful lady; she’s very lucky to have a man like you!”

The man gave him a queer look, but before he could accuse Himchan of flirting with his girlfriend, Himchan ran off.

“Smooth, hyung.” Junhong snickered as he pressed the elevator button.

“Over the crash-and-burn session with Park Airi already?” Jongup asked as he popped another chocolate bonbon into his mouth. “That was pretty quick.”

“S-Shut up,” Himchan commanded as he cleared his already clear throat. “So what are we going to perform next?”

Yongguk raised his eyebrow in amusement, “Jongup and Junhong are going to be dancing to Black Eyed Pea’s Boom Boom Pow and as a group, we’ll be performing MBLAQ’s This is War.”

“I don’t get to perform?” Youngjae asked with a playful pout. “That’s cold, hyung.”

“You’ll perform TVXQ’s Before U Go with Daehyun.” Yongguk shifted his glance from the shut elevator door to his wrist watch, “shall we go to our rooms to get ready to sleep?”

“It’s only nine!” Jongup and Junhong whined simultaneously.

“Don’t complain,” Yongguk sternly said as he walked inside the elevator shaft. “Hurry up,”

Grumbling incoherent words, the rest of the members got onto the elevator.

“Where’s Daehyun?”

“Flirting with some girl,” Youngjae chuckled to himself as he replayed the moment where Daehyun used that horrendous pick up line.

“What?!” Before the elevator doors closed, Junhong ran out and back into the room they just left.

“Junhong-ah, come back!”

Junhong turned around while still running across the lobby, “let me see if Daehyun hyung does better than Himchan! I want to see if-“

Due to the fact that Junhong was running backwards and not paying attention, he ended up bumping into a innocent bystander.

Annabelle, are you okay?” Sooyeon asked as she gently grabbed Annabelle’s arm and pulled her up.

What the hell!” Annabelle cursed. “Watch where you’re going!” She said as she pointed her fingers at Junhong’s face.

Junhong, being the hot-headed kid, was completely speechless by the small, short girl screaming at him in a foreign language. Not wanting to miss out on Daehyun’s possible crash-and-burn session like Himchan, he nodded his head before walking away.

Did he just…” Annabelle gasped, “He did!

Annabelle, calm down.” Sooyeon whispered to Annabelle as she uneasily glanced at all the people staring at the two.

You,” Annabelle quickly walked up to Junhong and pulled on the back of his collar. “Should apologize!

Junhong turned his head to face the stranger behind him, “what the hell are you saying?” Junhong asked annoyed.

Mi-an-hae,” Annabelle slowly said in Korean, hoping her accent didn’t overcome her pronunciation.

“You want me to apologize?” Junhong scoffed. “No can do, little girl.” He said with a small smirk as he brushed Annabelle’s grasp off of him.

“What did you say?”

He doesn’t want to apologize,” Sooyeon mentally slapped herself as she realized she should have just lied so the problem wouldn’t get any worse.

Annabelle grabbed Junhong’s collar with both of her fists and brought him close to her face. “Apologize.”

“Junhong, just apologize to the girl.” Yongguk said with a heavy sigh. “You’re the one who bumped into her.”

“I would have apologized if she didn’t be such a about it!”

“B-?” Annabelle stuttered in disbelief. “Did you just call me a ?”

Junhong leaned in with a victorious smirk, “whiny .”

Sooyeon and the B.A.P members gasped at Junhong, but before Yongguk could scold Junhong himself, Annabelle took matters into her own hands.

“I’m a whiny ?” Annabelle scoffed as she slapped Junhong’s head. “I’m a little girl?” She slapped his back with a loud smack. “Where are your manners?”

“Y-Yah, Yongguk hyung! S-Stop her!”

“Miss,” Yongguk faced Sooyeon. “Can you please tell your friend to stop hitting him?”

Feeling her face warming up, Sooyeon faced Annabelle again. “Annabelle, stop hitting him.

Why? He’s the one that was rude!

Annabelle,

“Is there a problem?” A man with sunken dark circles asked as he suddenly popped up behind B.A.P. His name tag read: Jiho.

“N-No,” Himchan chuckled nervously. “Nothing’s wrong.”

“If that’s the case, would you boys like to follow me? My manager would like to see you all.” Jiho said with a smile that would scare anyone away.

“Sure, let me go and get our other member. I’ll be back really quick.” Yongguk said as he politely excused himself so he could get Daehyun.

“You were on the plane with us earlier, weren’t you?” Youngjae took this opportunity to speak to Sooyeon again, although Sooyeon would rather have walked away ages ago.

“Y-yeah,” Sooyeon awkwardly answered as she took a step back, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear in the process.

“So, um, how’ve you been?”

“I’ve been well,”

Youngjae rubbed the back of his neck as he awkwardly cleared his throat. “Do you remember me?”

Sooyeon stared at the awkward man in front of her, “Yoo Youngjae-sshi?” She questioned, although she perfectly remembered who he was.

“Ah, that’s good!” He said with a light breath and a wide smile. “Just wondering, but how old are you?” Youngjae asked, but quickly waved his hands back and forth as he noticed Sooyeon staring at him with questioning eyes. “So I know what to call you; I don’t want to be disrespectful!”

“I’m twenty-three,” Sooyeon answered with a light voice. She questioned herself as to why she was able to easily talk to the strange man in front of her. She wasn’t scared of men, but she was definitely not comfortable with them.

“Really?” Youngjae asked with a surprised expression. “I’m twenty, so you’re my noona!”

Before Youngjae could open his mouth again and continue the conversation, Yongguk called him. “Alright, hyung.” Youngjae replied before he returned his attention to Sooyeon. “Nice to see you again, noona.”

Sooyeon felt her heart flipping and flopping in her chest as she felt her face getting even warmer. “Y-yeah,” she stuttered as Youngjae waved goodbye to her. It took forever for her to be comfortable with Cheondung and the others calling her noona, but when it came out of Youngjae’s mouth, it felt right.  She had never met him before, and she sure would have never wanted to associate with him, but why did she feel that she had to meet him?

Jiejie, are you alright?

Huh? Oh, yeah.” Sooyeon awkwardly chuckled as she turned to face Annabelle. “What happened to you?” She asked worriedly as she noticed that Annabelle’s hair was messy and her black lace bow was no longer in her hair, but in her hands.

That stupid kid pushed me to the ground again.” She let out an angry sigh. “You were too busy flirting with that guy to care.

I wasn’t-

Let’s just go to our hotel rooms now; I’m tired.” Annabelle walked off towards the elevators, knowing Sooyeon would follow her without any arguments.

Sooyeon let out a sigh and followed her into the elevator that had now arrived. “I’m surprised that you spoke Korean earlier.”

“I can speak Korean.” Annabelle replied in Korean, however, her Chinese accent strongly overshadowed her Korean. “I just choose not to speak it.”

“But earlier you said-“

I needed someone who could speak Korean around me. Korean is a very tiring language to speak, and I’m supposed to be on a relaxing vacation.” Annabelle shrugged.

“So, you’re basically telling me that although you can speak Korean, you chose to stick by me because you’re lazy to speak it yourself?” Sooyeon asked in Korean.

“Basically,” Annabelle got off the elevator on her floor and waved to Sooyeon. “Good night, jiejie.” She said as she walked into her hotel room, two doors down on the left from the elevator.

Sooyeon ran out of the elevator shaft before it closed on her and angrily walked to her hotel room that was four doors down on the right. She was upset by what Annabelle had just told her; how dare she lie to her with such a pathetic excuse? She was lazy to speak for herself? One thing that Sooyeon detests the most was liars, and she wondered if staying with Annabelle was worth it.

“Woosung~” Minjung chimed as she skipped to her hotel room as she held her phone to her ear. “Guess what happened!”

“You found a boyfriend,”

“Wait, how’d you know? Okay, so technically he isn’t my boyfriend yet, but how did you know?”

“We’re twins,” Woosung chuckled. “I can feel how you’re feeling; we’re connected.”

“That’s creepy,” Minjung smiled as she unlocked her door. “Do you want to hear about him?”

“I’m busy studying for a test tomorrow, so if I fail it, I’m going to blame you.” Woosung placed his pencil down on top of his book and leaned back in his chair. “I’m all ears,”

Minjung smiled widely as she paid no attention to the closed door behind her and placed her back on her bed. “Okay, so his name is Jung Daehyun, he’s twenty-one, he’s a singer, and he’s totally hot.”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Aren’t you only nineteen?”

“So?” Minjung scoffed. “There’s no boundary between love.”

“Love?” Woosung raised his eyebrow. “So you love this guy? Aigo, what has my noona gotten herself into?”

“Shut up,” Minjung whined. “I feel like I’m supposed to meet him. I mean, if I was placed in a room with him with no chances of leaving, I wouldn’t mind at all.”

“Noona, you’re going to get hurt if you keep thinking this way.”

“Whatever. Anyways, his group performed today at the hotel, and oh my goodness, they were amazing! He has this wonderful voice that I could listen to all day, every day! After the performance, he came to my table and we started talking and we have so many things in common. And, and, and, he asked me on a date tomorrow night!”

“A date? Are you sure you’re willing to go on a date with him?”

“Why do you sound so worried?”

Woosung sighed, “Because I don’t want you getting hurt. What if he’s not all you make him out to be? What if he hurts you?”

“I’m pretty sure he won’t hurt me.” Minjung rolled her eyes and laid on her bed. “You’re just overreacting, Woosung. You’re just upset that I’m not there with you.”

“I just…” Woosung sighed. “Yeah, maybe it’s because I miss you. It sounds like you’re having fun there. Is the weather nice?”

“The weather is amazing! I didn’t know it could be so different from Seoul… Blue, cloudless skies the entire day? It’s paradise!”

Woosung let out a small laugh. “I’m glad you’re having fun, noona. I’m going to go and study some more, okay? I love you.”

“I love you, too.” Minjung giggled. “Have fun studying.” As Minjung hung up, she got off her bed and began to plan her outfit for her date with Daehyun.

“What should I wear?” She asked herself as she laid different outfits on her bed. “Dress? No, too cliché. Skirt? I won’t be able to sit on the beach comfortably. Jeans? Not feminine enough.”

Minjung ruffled her hair and fell the floor. “Why can’t I find anything to wear?”

“Ugh,” Jiyeong groaned as she felt the warm sun light hitting her face. She shifted her body and glanced at the clock that was conveniently placed next to her on the bed side table.

10:56 AM.

Shifting her body once more where her back was flat on the bed, she placed her right arm over her eyes. “Should I buy Min’s gift now?”

Gathering up the energy to move off the bed and get ready for the day, Jiyeong’s phone rang once again.

“Hello?” She answered without checking the caller ID.

“Do you know me?” the voice on the phone asked with heavy breaths.

Jiyeong let out a small chuckled, “I know it’s you, Min.”

“And to think that I sounded like a totally different person.” Min sighed. “Did you get me my souvenir yet?

“I’m doing fine, thanks for asking.” Jiyeong chuckled as she walked into the bathroom. “I was about to get ready to go and buy your gift.”

Min smiled, “you’re such a nice friend, thank you for thinking about me first thing in the morning.”

Moistening her toothbrush and squeezing a pea-size amount of toothpaste on the head, she questioned as to why Min was calling.

“I can’t miss my best friend?”

As Jiyeong was brushing her teeth, she changed to speaker and listened to Min talking about her process of composing, recording, and dance practice. Miss A was coming back with a song called ‘Touch’ and Min was upset because she wasn’t in love with the dance.

Wiping her face with the towel, Jiyeong left the bathroom with her phone in her hand. “Have you slept yet?”

“No,” Min yawned. “I just got out of practice with the girls.”

“I feel so loved that you’d rather call me than sleep,” Jiyeong chuckled as she wore her oversized hoodie and plain blue jeans. “You should get some sleep; I’ll call you later tonight.”

Hanging up, Jiyeong grabbed her backpack before walking out of her hotel room in her plain, white sneakers.

Leaving the lobby of the hotel, Jiyeong walked into the closest gift shop she could find. She was greeted by an old, sweet lady and Jiyeong bowed her head back.

‘What should I get Min?’Jiyeong asked herself as she browsed the store. She noticed a small box of chocolates; Orange Chocolate it said. “Orange chocolate?”

“Jeju is very popular for our orange chocolate.” The old lady popped up and explained. “It’s sweet, yet refreshing and it comes in pineapple, green tea, and cactus flavor.”

“I guess I’ll buy one of each,” Jiyeong let out a small as the old lady walked behind the cashier and rang up the boxed of chocolate.

“That’ll be $20.”

Jiyeong reached into her back to grab her wallet, but she couldn’t feel it anywhere. “Just a moment,” Jiyeong said as she awkwardly smiled to the lady. “Where is it? I put my wallet in here before I left.”

“Ring this up as well,” a deep voice spoke behind Jiyeong as he placed a pack of gum on the counter.

Jiyeong turned her head to face the man who stared at Jiyeong with a gummy smile. “$22, right?” He said as he grabbed a few bills out of his wallet.

“Thank you! Have a nice day!” The lady bowed as she handed Jiyeong her boxes of chocolates.

The man walked out with his gum and Jiyeong soon followed him. “Excuse me,” she called out. The man turned around and took his earphones out of his ears.

“Please let me pay you back!”

“It’s okay,” he smiled. “I’ll probably get good karma later for helping out a stranger in need.”

Jiyeong stood awkwardly and held the bottom hem of her hoodie. “I’m Jiyeong,”

“Yonggu. It’s nice to meet you, Jiyeong-sshi.”

Jiyeong stared at Yongguk’s extended hand and hesitantly reached for it as well. “Nice to meet you,” she said as she stared at Yongguk once more.

“You must really like chocolate,” Yongguk chuckled as he looked at Jiyeong’s bag.

“Huh? Oh, it’s not for me! It’s for a friend of mines back in Seoul.”

“All four of those boxes?”

“Well, I was going to take three of them…” Jiyeong lowered her head as she mentally sighed at herself.

“Your friend is going to be upset when she finds out you’re only giving her one.” Yongguk chuckled once again. “Well, I have to get going now. My kids aren’t going to wake themselves up. Have a nice day, Jiyeong-sshi.”

Jiyeong stared at Yongguk’s disappearing back in disappointment. “He has kids?” She sighed before lifting her arms to stretch. “I guess I’ll give up on him.”

That’s weird,’ Airi scanned her hotel room card in front of her door knob once again. ‘It worked earlier.

Airi left her hotel room earlier in the morning for her daily jog, but even before she walked into the elevator, she remembered that she had forgotten her iPod inside. She used the same exact card to enter her room, but why was it now rejecting her?

Trying to scan the card once more, Airi became restless. What if she had grabbed someone else’s card by accident? Then again, that wouldn’t be possible since that card was in Airi’s possession the entire time.

Hanging her head back and letting out a long sigh, she wondered why she was allowed into her own hotel room.

Jiyeong was busy staring at her phone when she walked off the elevator and onto her floor. There she noticed a young girl crouching on the floor with her head held back. “I guess Min can wait,” she told herself as she shoved her phone in her back pocket and walked up to the girl.

“Are you okay?”

The girl looked at Jiyeong, who took a step back from the surprise of having to see heterochromia up close. “I need help,”

“Help? Are you hurt? Do you need a doctor?”

“I’m locked out,”

Jiyeong stared at the girl for a moment before letting out a sigh of relief and exasperation. “That’s good that you’re not hurt. Um, have you tried using your card to get in?”

“Yes, but it keep rejecting it.”

“Oh, well, I honestly don’t know what to do…Should I go and call someone up so they can-“

“Is there a problem, ladies?”

“Oh my God,” Jiyeong let out breath as the strange man that suddenly popped up behind them. Jiyeong shifted to stand next to Airi, only to have her hide behind Jiyeong’s arm. “Jiho-sshi,” Jiyeong read his name tag on his uniform. “Her card is not allowing access into her room.”

“Park Airi’s room?” Jiho asked as he extended his arm out, motioning that he needed the card.

Airi slowly handed him the card, not making eye contact with him whatsoever. She wondered how he knew her name even though this was the first time they had met.

Ding.

Airi shifted her gaze to her door that was now wide open. ‘What? How come it’s open now? I didn’t… What?

“Are you sure it wasn’t working?” Jiho asked Airi, now broken out of her shocked state.

“Y-yes,” she stuttered.

“Airi-sshi, are you okay?” Jiyeong asked worriedly as she noticed that Airi looked a bit scared. “Do you need to rest?

“N-no, I’m fine. Just a little tired,”

“If there are any other problems, please do not hesitate to call me.” Jiho said as he smiled to the girls.

“Y-yeah,” Jiyeong uncomfortably smiled back. She didn’t know why, but she felt that she needed to get as far away as possible from this person.

“Are you sure he’s not here?” Himchan asked Junhong as they both came out of Himchan’s room.

“I woke up to an empty room!” Junhong said frantically. “I saw Jongup getting out of bed at 3AM in the morning, but I thought he needed to take a piss!”

“Calm down,” Youngjae told the maknae as he and Daehyun walked out of their own room. “Maybe he went out with Yongguk hyung.”

“Is there a problem?” Jiho asked them with his signature creepy smile.

The boys shifted their gaze to Jiho, Jiyeong and Airi. Airi was hiding behind Jiyeong, looking like she was about to faint.

“I’ll walk you into your room,” Jiyeong grabbed Airi’s arm and slowly walked her inside the room and close the door behind them.

“Nothing’s wrong,” Himchan replied.

“What do you mean ‘nothing’s wrong’?” Junhong asked with hostility in his voice.

“Let’s wait for Yongguk to come before we assume anything.”

“Assume what?” Yongguk asked as he walked up to the others. “Where’s Jongup?”

“He’s not with you?”

“No, I walked out by myself.”

“Did you see Jongup anywhere when you were out? Jongup has his phone off and none of us know how to reach him.” Himchan asked.

“I told you before, I walked out by myself. If I had seen Jongup, I would have called him over.” Yongguk shifted his gaze to Junhong. “Are you sure he’s not just sleeping someone in your room?”

“Hyung, I checked every where I can’t find him!”

“Okay, but it’s too quick to assume Jongup’s missing. Let’s just wait a few hours, okay?”

DUN DUN DUN~
Many apologies for not being able to update in the last month… WOW IT’S BEEN A MONTH? SWEET JEESU KRIST. Super apologies ;o; I was so busy with school from finals and final projects that it was hard for me to sit down and be able to write down one chapter! But guess what, you guise! I’m officially on summer break, so I won’t be as busy as I was before! Ehe, anyways, I know this chapter is super, super long, but I hope you forgive me for that. The oncoming chapters shall be ‘shorter’ since I can just have all the characters in the room together. ^^ Oh, sorry if I made some of your parts [especially Minjung's] a bit too short TToTT Anyways, sorry for the long wait, but here you are!'

Oh, useless story time: I got to go to MBC's Kpop concert in Google last Monday! It. Was. Wonderful. I screamed my heart out for each performance and I love, love, loved it!

Like this story? Give it an Upvote!
