Today is the first day Irene works as Kang Seulgi’s soon-to-be fiancé. As soon as she arrived at her department, Eunbi and Solar rushed to her cubicle

“Yah, Bae Joohyun!” Solar put her hands on her hips while Eunbi always with her cheerful smile

“How dare you not tell us about your engagement with our boss? What a friend?” Solar grunt

“I’m sorry. I want to give surprise to everyone that’s why I not spill it to both of you”

“You’re really good at keeping a secret. We not even noticed that you’re preparing for your engagement” say Eunbi

“We only doing it on weekend but the rest handle by Seulgi’s mother”

“You owe us a lot, unnie”

“You should be punished for lying to us” Solar added

“I know” Irene cackle

After that, some other staff come to Irene cubicle to congratulate her for her upcoming engagement. They express their happiness for her and Seulgi. Irene also shy when her colleague teasing her as future Mrs. Kang

“Can we still call you Irene noona after you engage with our boss or change to Mrs. Kang?”

“Of course you guys still can call me noona or unnie. Mrs. Kang is still too far. We not marry yet so no Mrs. Kang for now”

“Okay noona”

Later that afternoon or to be exact during lunch time, their CEO came to the marketing department. It was such a surprise but they know he came to see Irene. It’s not a secret anymore and the couple are together publicly. They even come together this morning

“Attention everyone” Seungwan calling for marketing staff attention and they looking at him and Seulgi

“Today our boss will treat you all to lunch at Han’s Restaurant next to our building. After this, go to that restaurant because it already reserved for marketing department staff include Manager Lee”

“It is for her apology for not telling her friends about our engagement” say Seulgi

“Aigoo boss, you really don’t have to. We only joking when we tell her about lunch treat” Solar say awkwardly

“It’s okay, Yongsun-ssi. It not every day that we treat you guys eat”

“Thank you for the treat”

“You’re welcome”

“Don’t forget to go later”

“Okay sir” everyone answer in unison

Now marketing staff are enjoying their lunch at a beef restaurant. Seulgi, Irene and Seungwan also join them. They share a table with Moonbyul, Solar and Eunbi. Seungwan sit at the end of the table while Seulgi and Moonbyul facing their girlfriend and Eunbi sit at the other end

While everyone busy grilling and eating, Moonbyul move his body closer to Seulgi and nudging him lightly

“Sir”

“Em?”

“I noticed that Eunbi and Seungwan were not talking to each other. What happened?”

“You don’t know? I mean Solar noona not telling you anything?”

“She did but I don’t understand”

“They break-up”

Moonbyul flinched a bit then he whispered again “Are they dating?”

“No, they are still friends but feel like break-up. You know they used to close with each other then suddenly stop talking because of some reason”

“I understand now. No wonder Seungwan not talking about Eunbi anymore”

“Yup, that’s it”

Tonight Seungwan and Seulgi have dinner at Irene apartment. It is still part of their punishment from Seungwan. Tonight she cooked dinner for them since her fridge run out of stock earlier and she can’t make breakfast for them

“Wan” Seulgi speak after finish his food

“Em?” Seungwan just hummed since his mouth still full

“We need your favor on our engagement party”

Seungwan drinks his water before responding “What is it?”

The couple looking at each other then, Seulgi speak “We wish you could perform at our party”

“You mean singing?” the couple nods their heads “Sing a special song for both of you?”

“Not special for us. Just pick random song” say Irene

“Why not invite celebrities? We can invite pretty main vocalist of Red Velvet to sing in your party”

“Seulgi said you have a good voice so I want to hear you singing. I heard Seulgi’s already so I want to hear yours too” Irene plead with puppy eyes

Seungwan melted seeing Irene's eyes. He hate aegyo but when women doing that to him, he immediately weak

“Alright but I will sing with my sparring partner” Seungwan stated

“Sparring partner? Who is it? Main vocalist of Red Velvet that you like so much?” Seulgi ask excitedly

“No, I don’t have a connection with her but I will make sure she sings at my wedding. I will do everything until I reach her” Seungwan smirked ''I will ask my sparring partner. Hope that person will agree. I don’t want to perform alone. It feels awkward since I haven’t sung in front of a crowd for a while. Usually I sing in front of Seulgi and Dongwoon hyung or in my bathroom”

“Alright, we look forward to see your sparring partner” Seungwan only respond with mischievous smirk

Seungwan happily entered the mall with a big smile painted on his face. Today he has a plan with someone. He walked to the café where that person was waiting for him. As he entered, he saw that person back facing the door. He quickly order his drink then go to that table

He slowly approached that person and stopped behind her. She doesn't seem to notice his present because busy eating cake. He lean down then move closer and whisper to her ear

“Roseanne~”

Rose jump in shock and reflect smacking Seungwan forehead “Oppa!” she cover as she realize that person is Son Seungwan

Seungwan crouches beside Rose chair and rubs his stinging forehead “Ouch!”

“Yaa oppa. You’re shocking me. Have a sit first” Rose pull Seungwan up then bring him to the chair in front of her

“You're a woman with power. Your slap is no joke” Seungwan hissed

“I’m sorry, oppa” Rose feel bad after slapping Seungwan

“It’s okay. It is my fault for fooling around”

“Does it still hurt?”

“A little bit” Seungwan pouting his lips

“Come closer” Rose beckons Seungwan to lean close to her and he obeys. She removed Seungwan's hand and replaced it with hers to caress the red spot. “Next time don’t make me shocked. I am learning martial arts. I could bring harm to you. What if I punch your nose? You will end up at hospital”

Don’t ask what happened to Seungwan. He already melting into puddle because of Rose affection and softness of her palm

“I promise not doing it again”

“Is this okay now?” Rose tenderly caressing Seungwan forehead with her thumb

“It fine already”

Rose fixes Seungwan bangs to hide the red spot before retreating her hand. Her actions make Seungwan's heart beat faster than normal. He rarely feels this way if someone shows affection to him. Now he understands what Seulgi said about abnormal feelings when we’re with someone that we love. This is not the first time Rose made his stomach flip and his heart flutter. It often happens when she tells her worry at him when he skips his lunch because of work, when he said he is exhausted and lost appetite to eat or when she randomly texts him asking what he is doing, tell him about her day or remind him to eat. He thought maybe Rose is the one but he didn't want to rush. He learns from his past mistakes. This time he want to take it slow

Waiter came to bring coffee and croissants that Seungwan ordered earlier. Rose already finish half of chocolate cake while waiting for Seungwan arrival

“Roseanne” Seungwan comfortable addressing the girl with her full name

“Yes oppa”

“My friend requested me to sing at his engagement party but I don’t want to perform alone. Do you want to be my sparring partner?” Seungwan ask with hope

“Is he someone I know or your new friend after you graduate from high school?”

“Kang Seulgi”

“Oh I see. Who will engage with him? Is that woman Krystal Jung?”

“No, they break-up long time ago. Krystal is high-maintenance so Seulgi let her go. This one is one of our staff but they met before Seulgi worked as CEO. She is far better than Krystal Jung. His family also loves her so much. So, do you want to sing with me at their party?”

“Yes, I want” Rose answer confidently

Seungwan is very happy with Rose's answer. It feels like she answers his love confession “What song will we sing?”
