Peaceful winter morning in Seoul but totally different at Kang mansion. The mansion is already filled with chaos and nagging from Mrs. Kang. Except Irene, other members of Kang are scolded by their big boss. They supposed to wake up early for breakfast then will depart to their grandparent’s place that will take almost three hours driving but things not turn out as planned

“Eomma, I’m hungry”

“Eomma, do you see where I put my toiletry bag?”

“Yeobo, where is my boxer?”

“Appa, don’t take my boxer! Why would your boxer be in my room?”

“Sooyoung-ah, I want to borrow your hair-dryer”

“Hyun, don’t forget to put my padded jacket in my luggage”

That is the example of chaos that happens in the mansion. In the end, everyone shut their mouths when Mrs. Kang roared from the living room. After settle the commotion, Mrs. Kang and Irene go to dining table

“This always happens whenever we need to go somewhere. No matter how early I wake them up, we never run out of commotion. Whether it is about their clothes, necessities or just nonsense stuff. People out there will never expect what actually happen in this mansion” Mrs. Kang massaging her temple

“But that is cute interaction, eomma” Irene chuckle

“At first it cute but once you experience it often it will be annoying”

Seulgi shows up and sits beside Irene. He is one of the human who wake up late even he sleep early last night

“Have you checked your luggage already? Make sure not to forget your necessities. I don’t want to hear complaints when we arrive at your grandparent house. You will return early if you suddenly forget this and that like last time” Mrs. Kang glare at her son

“No worry, eomma. Everything is packed inside my luggage. Your future daughter-in-law already doing counter-check” Seulgi fail to wink to his mother but still trying

“If Irene does it then I trust her. I am only insecure if you said everything is in the house. Don’t forget that you used to forget your boxer. Luckily Junho have extra boxer to give you”

“Eomma, don’t say that~” Seulgi cover his face in embarrassment while Irene laughing at him

“Done with that antics. Eat your food” said Irene

“Okay” Seulgi pouting but still proceed with breakfast

Yoona, Joy and Mr. Kang comes to the dining table after they prepare themselves. Everyone is wearing winter clothes. From Irene's perspective, the clothes that they wear are from designer brands and are very expensive. Seulgi also wears the same clothes. It look simple but the price is not joke

“Your imo called me this morning. She said if possible, we should arrive early because heavy snow often happens there in the evening. It will make road slippery and dangerous” Mrs. Kang stated

“Hope there is no traffic jam so we can arrive quickly” said Seulgi’s father

“If only you guys not wake up late, we already depart by now” Mrs. Kang glare at her family while they just giggle innocently

After breakfast, the Kang family departed from the mansion. Yoona and Joy ride with their parents while Seulgi and Irene ride in his car. The journey took almost three hours since traffic jam quite bad because it is holiday season and many people are traveling around

“Here we are” Seulgi stop his car in front of his grandparent’s house

“This is your grandparent’s house?” Irene looking at the house before them

“Yes, why?”

“I thought it will look like your family mansion”

Seulgi smiles “They move to this house after grandpa retires from business. They have a mansion in Seoul and it's bigger than my family mansion. Now my aunt’s family is staying there. Grandma want to spend her old days in her hometown so grandpa bought land here and build house for them”

“So here is your grandma's hometown?”

“Correct. Grandpa is originally from Seoul and grandma from this town. They live happily here especially grandma because she is close with her relatives and friends”

“That’s good then”

“Let’s get our stuff and go inside”

Both of them get out of their car. Seulgi brings their suitcases and duffle bag, not letting Irene carry heavy stuff. They go inside together with their family

“Grandma!” Joy run to her grandmother and hug the elder tightly

“Aigoo, my beautiful baby. It has been a while. You grow taller now” Grandma Kang pats Joy

“I miss you, grandma” Joy pouting

“I miss you too”

Yoona comes forward and pushes Joy away “Grandma, you don't miss me?”

“Of course I miss you too” the grandmother kissing Yoona both cheeks

“Yayayaya noona! It’s my turn” said Seulgi then he receive smack on his head from Yoona

“Grandma, do you miss Ddeulgi too?” Seulgi say cutely

“Yes, I miss my Ddeulgi so much” his grandmother peppered Seulgi face with kisses

Everyone sat in the living room after the reunion. Mr. Kang noticed only his mother welcoming them

“Eomma, where are the others?”

“They are at the back with your appa. I’m not telling them that you guys arrived. We will join them later after you all bring your stuff to bedroom”

“Eomma, remember that I told you that Seulgi will get married?” Mrs. Kang asking the elder

“Yes, I remember”

Mrs. Kang links her arm with Irene “This is his soon-to-be fiancé. Her name is Irene Bae”

Grandma Kang smiles warmly at Irene “Aigoo, my new granddaughter is very pretty. Seulgi-ah, you’re really good at choosing girlfriend” Seulgi only grin sheepishly when his grandma praising him “Irene-ah, come sit here” she pat the seat beside him

Irene move to sit with Grandma Kang “Nice to meet you, grandma” she say politely

“Nice to meet you too. Welcome to the family, sweetie” Grandma Kang ruffle Irene hair

“Thank you, grandma”

“Seulgi, take care of Irene properly. If I hear you hurting her, I will twist your ear”

“Okay grandma!” Seulgi salute

“Go bring your bags to the bedroom them we join them at the back there” grandma command

“Seul, let Joohyun sleep in your room. You sleep with Junho, okay?” Seulgi’s mother asked before they go upstairs

“Can't we sleep together yet?” Seulgi pouting

“No!” his parents answer together. Yoona and Joy making fun of their brother

“Okay, I will sleep with hyung”

“Good. Now bring your stuff to bedroom”

Seulgi and Irene walk to the back where their family is already gathering, drinking warm tea and eating snacks that grandma Kang made. Irene is nervous since this is the first time she meets with Seulgi’s big family. Seulgi noticed it and he quickly hold Irene hand

“Relax, okay? They will surely love you”

“I still nervous” Irene mumble

“I will hold your hand”

“Okay”

[At the back of the house]

“Yo! Kang Seulgi!” Seulgi’s cousin, Junho, chirped as soon as he saw Seulgi come towards them with a beautiful woman in tow

“Hyungnim!” Seulgi hollered

“Come here, kids” grandpa Kang excitedly beckon the couple to join them

“Seul, before you sit, you should introduce the beautiful lady to us” said one of his uncles

Seulgi smile proudly “Guys, let me introduce my beautiful lady, Irene Bae, my soon-to-be fiancé” Irene bow politely to the family

The dorks clapping their hands teasing the couple. Seulgi is still smiling like a fool but Irene is shy. She is not aware of this casual welcome but she is happy that she is also welcomed in their big family. They looked happy having her around

“Hyun, they are my family members. That is uncle Donghae, aunty Jessi and uncle Heechul. The handsome boy beside aunty Jessi is Jeno and that ugly guy is Junho hyung. Beside him are his sisters, Sunmi noona and Chaeyeon. That big cheeks girl is Jennie. She is daughter of Uncle Heechul”

“Sit down, kids. Drink warm tea. Your grandma make your favorite cookies” said Seulgi’s grandfather

Meanwhile, there is one person who keeps her eyes on Irene. She keeps staring at the younger woman for a while now. That person is none other than Jessica. She is younger sister of Kang Siwon

“Ehem” Jessica clears as she is still staring at Irene who sits across to her “You’re Bae Joohyun, right?”

Irene startled when Jessica know her Korean name since Seulgi not introduce her with that name earlier
