Irene sat nervously beside Seulgi. She is not as bubbly as usual. Right now they are on their way to Kang mansion. She will join them for Christmas Eve dinner and will sleepover as Mrs. Kang wished

“Hyun, are you nervous?” Seulgi asking the silent woman beside him

“Yes” Irene rubbed her palm together

Seulgi holds Irene hand on her lap “Relax, they are excited to meet you. Eomma, Yoong noona and Sooyoung cook a lot of food to welcome our special guest. They are so busy since morning”

“Aigoo, I suddenly feel bad. I don’t prepare anything for your family”

“It’s okay, you’re the best Christmas gift for them”

They arrived in front of a huge gate. The gate itself is already luxury, Irene imagines the luxury view that she will see later. What she thinks is right. This is the first time she comes to Kang mansion and she totally can’t hide her amazement. It not something rare for a rich family like the Kang but she still impress seeing the modern luxury mansion design

“Wow!” she said unconsciously

“We arrived!” Seulgi park his car in front of the entrance

Irene can see the luxury cars parked at the car porch. Some of the cars are familiar since she always sees them at the office. One of the cars also Seulgi used to drive to office

“My lady, can we go inside now?” Seulgi distracting Irene deep thought

“Yes”

Seulgi walks Irene into the house. They were welcomed by the head of the maid. Irene still feels awkward when the maid bows to her. She want to resist that kind of treatment but it is protocol so she just go with the flow

“Eomma, appa” Seulgi greet his parents who watching TV at living room

“Hey son, you arrived already”

Seulgi grin cheekily “I bring our special guest” he pull Irene closer to him

“Omo! Irene?” Mrs. Kang squeal

“Nice to meet you ma’am, sir” Irene politely bow to the elder

“Aigoo Irene-ah, we don’t know that you’re the girl that Seulgi mentioned” said Mr. Kang

“Have a seat, kids. We will eat dinner later. The girls still wash up” Mrs. Kang said

Irene sits beside Seulgi while Seulgi’s parents also sit beside each other. The elder’s expression looked happy while staring at her. She acknowledge Seulgi words about his family excitement to meet her

“Seulgi talks a lot about you. We also heard about what he did to you. We’re really sorry his misbehave” Mrs. Kang speak

“If Seulgi hurts you again, don’t hesitate to tell me. I will send him to the outback” Mr. Kang added. He received an annoying glare from Seulgi but he pretended like he didn't see it. If only Irene is not there, Seulgi already protest

“I already got over it, sir, ma’am. Now we’re in good terms”

“Aigoo, don’t be formal. Now we’re at home. Just call us appa and eomma. We’re family now” said Seulgi’s mother

“Okay eo-eomma” Irene still feel awkward saying that words because it has been a while since she call someone ‘eomma’ since past 14 years

Yoona comes from her room followed by Sooyoung. The girls are also surprised to see Irene. They do not expect that person to be Irene since she is one of the staff that never gets involved in a love scandal in the office. Irene is well-known with a good discipline record and also rejects a lot of male staff who confess their feelings to her. Every gossip was heard by Kang sisters especially Sooyoung because she associate a lot with their staff in Irene’s department

“I do not expect the girl that Seulgi said is you, Rene. We thought he will bring back the ert girls that usually create scandal at office” said Yoona

“Ayy noona, how dare you” Seulgi groaned. Irene stare at him and laughing lightly

“That’s why you should say her name so that we don't misunderstand. We just worry if you bring back the wrong person”

“Did Irene pass the quality check?” Seulgi asked playfully

“Yes, she passed and accepted. You’re our future sister-in-law now. We don’t want anyone else. We just want you” Yoona said enthusiastically. Irene response with shy smile

Sooyoung agrees with her older sister “If only I know Irene unnie is the girl that you pursue, I already laugh heartily, mocking those shameless attention seekers who dream to be your wife. Can’t wait to show you off to them, unnie”

“Don’t do that until we reveal our relationship” said Seulgi

“So, when will you reveal your relationship?” Mr. Kang asking

Irene and Seulgi look at each other “We decide to keep it until we make the final decision. We still work things out now” said Irene

“Okay if you say so”

Mrs. Kang distracts their conversation “Let’s go to the dining table. We should eat now. We shouldn’t let our guest starving”

Everyone walks to the dining table. Irene and Seulgi walk behind them

“Do you still feel awkward?” Seulgi whisper

“Not anymore. Your family is funny and talkative” Irene giggle

“I know right”

Lot of food was served on the table. Irene mentally excited seeing the food on the table. She sits between Seulgi and his mother. Mrs. Kang give a lot of food to Irene while her children took the foods for themselves

“Eat a lot, Irene” Mr. Kang said

“Okay appa”

“Now I am wondering whose eomma children are, us or Irene unnie” Sooyoung joking around when she saw her mom busy taking foods for Irene

“I pamper you every day so now I want to pamper my future daughter-in-law” Mrs. Kang said innocently

Irene thought the dinner would be silent and strictly following strict rules like the rich family that she watched in the drama. However, she was totally wrong. The Kang are talking casually and even joking during dinner. Sometimes Sooyoung whines when Seulgi and Mr. Kang teases her. Irene also joins the banter sometimes. Now the awkwardness is long forgotten. She feels comfortable with the family. They fond to her like their own family member

“Seulgi, walk Irene to the bedroom. No sharing bedroom yet!” said Mrs. Kang after their dinner

“Okay boss” Seulgi give salute to his mom “Let’s go, Hyun”

They go upstairs to the bedroom “You want to sleep in my bedroom?” Seulgi stop at the hallway

“If I sleep in your room, where will you sleep? Your mom said no sharing a bedroom yet, remember?” Irene playfully poking Seulgi cheek

“I remember. Just in case you are not comfortable in that room, you can use my room. I can sleep in other bedroom”

Irene shake her head “It’s okay, I will use that bedroom”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, I’m sure” Irene say cutely

“By the way, do you want to see my room?”

Irene nods excitedly “Yes!”

“Alright, I will show you our future bedroom” said Seulgi and Irene punch his arm lightly

“Your room really luxury” Irene amazed seeing Seulgi’s bedroom that five times bigger than her bedroom in her apartment

“Soon it will be yours too” Seulgi smile as he’s stand behind Irene

“Stop teasing me already!” Irene whining making Seulgi pinched her cheek

“Let’s go to your room” Irene follow Seulgi to the bedroom where she will sleep tonight

“This is your bedroom. Next to yours is my room. If you need something, just knock the door” said Seulgi as he turn on the light in the bedroom

“This room is gorgeous”

“Yeah, the size is the same as other rooms since this is not considered a guest room. Only special guests are allowed to sleep here. Guest room is downstairs”

“So I am special?” Irene joking around

“Yeah, you heard it already, don’t you? You’re our VIP” Seu
