My thoughts:

I'm so glad I accidentally stumbled across this fic. The world building is fantastic. Author did a great job in explaining and visualizing a world where modern Korea is still ruled by the Royal Family. All the traditional that are key to th the Joseon era are beautifully woven into this modern story of greed, power, love, and family. 

The story starts with Bae Irene being forced to go on blind dates by her estranged grandma, the head of the Bae Family, in order to regain the title and rights the Bae Family stripped from her father when he decided to marry a commoner rather than a noble who could better the Clan's position with the Royal Crown. Disgusted by how all the men only look at her outer appearance and bloodline, she bluntly rejects and thus embarrasses another suitor in front of the prestigious opening of the Royal Gallery. Enraged the noble suitor attempts to hit her when a women steps in and stops the embarrassing display occurring in her gallery.
