It has been three nights since Nari stayed at the lab to help Joohyun and Chanyeol analyze the mallet. They thought pulling an all-nighter would be the smartest thing to do in order to help Baekhyun’s case get started, but they were wrong. They were all too tired to continue working, so Baekhyun sent them home. Nari decided that she would let Joohyun handle the case because she wanted to visit the hospital. However, she was not aware that there would be detectives standing outside of the operating room. She was making her way to one of the operating rooms when she noticed them crowding the door.

She scanned her badge as her brows rose as she tilted her head, approaching the familiar faces once the door opened. “What are you guys doing here?” She asked, standing inches away from Sehun and Jongin. Junmyeon and Baekhyun not far away from them. They turned their heads towards the source of her voice, and her brows rose in question to them. “You’re here,” Sehun said. “Why aren’t you at the station?” Nari allowed her brows to furrow: “Because I work here too? I don’t have to be in the lab all the time, Oh.” She replied. “Joohyun and Chanyeol can handle it.” “But you’ve got the brains,” Jongin said.

Nari squinted her eyes: “So does Joohyun, she’s well-educated. No scientist would choose the field they’re in unless they’re good at it.” Jongin closed his mouth, nodding his head to her words. He knew she was right, and he had to stop himself before he said something he’d regret.

“Doctor Byun, there you are,” a resident and friend called out. She turned her body and smiled to the resident dressed in her scrubs: “Doctor Yoon, hi,” The doctor smiled, her eyes dropping once she was aware of all the men around the brunette. “Do you know them?” She asked. Nari turned around, lips slightly ajar. She turned around with a slight sigh: “Unfortunately. He’s my brother,” she said, pointing to Baekhyun, “and these are Detective’s Oh, Kim and Chief Kim. I work for my brother at the police station too.” Doctor Kang nodded in return to the men before turning back to the brunette.

“Pleasantries all aside, but I need Doctor Byun immediately,” the girl said, the men stepping aside. “Which doctor called for me?” Nari asked as she tucked her hands into the pockets of her scrubs. “Doctor Son,” she replied. “She needs your help with… their patient.” Nari blinked, raising her brows. “The patient’s aorta is damaged by the gunshot wound, and she said you’re the only person who can help her fix it.”

 “Has Doctor Son taken out the bullet? Which operating room?” She asked, Baekhyun eyeing his sister at work. It’s admirable how much intelligence she has. “She’s waiting on you. She’s trying to stop the bleeding as we speak. She’s in OR Three,” Doctor Yoon said. “Okay, get back in there. Give me a minute to get in there and scrub in. In mean
