”Unnie, what if she says no?”

”Don’t worry Ryujin! I’m 100% sure she likes you back.”

”But what if-“

”What happened to the confident gay we know, Ryujin-unnie? It’s been two weeks, you should definitely ask Choi Lia-sunbaenim out by now.”

A trio of girls were waiting by a bench near their school’s, JYP Academy’s, front gate. One of them had short dark blue hair, and wore a black jacket over her uniform that had a blue ribbon, showing she was a second year, and she was visibly nervous. Her taller friend who had long silver hair, had an arm draped over her shoulder, seemingly trying to calm her down. She wore a white jacket over her own uniform with a red ribbon, meaning she was a senior. In front of them was a brunette who was a freshman with her green ribbon. She was the tallest among the three.

”Yuna is right. If it were anyone else, you would have asked them out before you even knew their name. Just what are you so scared of Shin Ryujin?” The silver haired girl asked.

”I’m not exactly her type, Yeji-unnie.” Ryujin answered.

”Since when have you ever cared about that, unnie? You should definitely ask her out. You’ve been rambling about her for ages! Yeji-unnie and I are tired of dealing with your panicked .” The brunette said.

”It’s not that easy, Yuna-yah.” 

“Hey, if anything, Lia talks about you a lot.” Yeji told the nervous girl.

”Lia-unnie talks about me?” Ryujin looked to her friend with wide eyes.

”Definitely. I bet that girl only befriended me because she knows I’m close with you. You’re always the topic of our conversations. Can’t I get a break from your dumb ? It’s gross talking about you so often.” Despite the clear diss, Ryujin smiled, happy to know her crush does acknowledge her existence.

”Even if I don’t know her personally, I’ve definitely noticed that she’s a different person when she’s around you, Ryujin-unnie. I swear, she’s so smiley when you’re there.” Yuna added. Ryujin shook her head in response.

“Lia-unnie’s just being kind. She’s always been nice like that. There’s no way she treats me special. Especially someone like me.” Yeji rolled her eyes in frustration and removed her arm from her friend’s shoulder, looking at the blue-haired girl straight in the eye.

”I can’t take it anymore! Just ask her out for one date, Ryujin. Just be your usual self, and there’s no way she’ll refuse. Stop overthinking it. It’ll all be fine, trust me.” Ryujin looked at her friend and opened to respond, but was cut off by the sound of someone clearing . 

The trio simultaneously whipped their heads in the direction of the sound and stood straight nervously. Ryujin saw who the person was and immediately had a dumb grin on her face. It was Choi Lia, the topic of their conversation. Beside her was Lee Chaeryeong, who was her best friend and Ryujin’s classmate.

”Are we interrupting something?” she asked.

”Oh, no. Nothing at all! Don’t worry Lia!” Yeji said with a nervous smile. Lia simply raised her eyebrow, but chose to let it go.

“How was your day, Lia-unnie?” Ryujin asked with a huge grin. Lia immediately smiled back and inched closer to the blue haired second year.

”It was great! Mr. Park gave me a good grade on our test from last week and...” The two were immediately lost in their own world and Yeji couldn’t help but roll her eyes. Again. Chaeryeong brought out her phone and looked to Yeji and Yuna.

Agent Chaerry 🍒: Hey, I’m not the only one right? 😭😭 You could see our two best friends(or sister in your case, Yuna) so whipped for each other, right? 🧐

The duo looked at their own phones, Yuna accidentally letting out a laugh, and discreetly brought out a thumbs up. However, Ryujin and Lia’s attention were caught by Yuna’s laugh.

”Yah, what’s so funny Shin Yuna?” The three felt their eyes widen for a millisecond, before catching themselves and fixing their expressions. Yuna turned to the blue-haired girl in a panic, and tried to think of a good excuse.

”Nothing! Mom just told me that the reason you were late today is because you spilled her coffee all over the table this morning. Man, I wish I was there!”

Yuna mentally gave herself a pat on the back for her quick thinking. It was a blessing she heard Ryujin’s rants during lunch. Meanwhile, Yeji and Chaeryeong burst out laughing, while Lia was trying to hold back giggles of her own. Ryujin burned with embarrassment and glared at the tallest girl.

”Shin Yuna! Stop embarrassing me!” Yuna simply responded by sticking her tongue out with her eyes full of mischief. The brunette immediately started running away when she saw the look of absolute fury on the older girl. Yuna was screaming for help, because she knew what would happen if Ryujin were to catch her. However, she decided to take a risk and tease the blue-haired girl even more.

“I thought you were faster than this, dear sister! Are you getting old? You’re too slow!” 

“Come back here you little bastard!!” Needless to say, Yuna began running faster as Ryujin suddenly sped up due to her teasing.

The three who were left behind were laughing as they watched Ryujin chase Yuna around the courtyard. However, Lia immediately froze at the brunette’s words.

“Ah, those two really. Never a day passes without those two sisters getting under each other’s skin.” Yeji shook her head in exasperation.

”Sisters? They’re sisters?” Lia asked.

”Yeah. You never knew?” Lia shook her head in response.

”That idiot, I can’t believe she never told you. I’m sorry about Ryujin, Lia.”

”It’s fine. I just wish I knew sooner. If I did, then I would have-“

”Asked her out on a date.” Yeji immediately cut her classmate off. Lia’s eyes widened at her friend’s words.

”How did you-?” 

“Know? With how much you talk about her, I’m pretty sure anyone would know.” Yeji said.

”Even I know about your crush, Lia-unnie.” Chaeryeong added. Lia felt her cheeks blush and she opened to respond. However, she was stopped by the sisters’ return. Ryujin, now with her jacket off and Yuna with her hands on her knees. The two were drenched in sweat, disheveled, and constantly panting.

”I...huff huff...am never...huff...doing...huff huff...that again!” Yuna brought out with much difficulty. While both sisters were tired, the younger girl looked even worse than her sister.

”This...huff...is all your...huff huff... fault!” Ryujin said, breathing heavily.

“How are...huff...you...huff...so fast?!”

“You’re the...huff...one who’s slow!”

The two glared at each other before letting out a laugh and high fiving each other. They looked like the best of friends and Lia felt stupid for not seeing it before. Chaeryeong looked at them, wondering if they were always like this and looked back on her interactions with her own siste Chaeyeon. Even if they constantly teased each other, they definitely were not as rough as Shin Ryujin and Shin Yuna.

Yeji looked at her childhood friends and sighed. With how many years, they’ve been by each other’s sides, the pair has never really changed. However, she had to admit that her life would by dull without the Shin duo by her side.

“Are you two done playing like children?” Yeji asked with a stern gaze. The sisters looked at her sheepishly and nodded.

”It’s a wonder you two haven’t ended up in the hospital with how you play around like this. Be thankful it’s after classes, so it’s fine to be as noisy as you two were. Especially you, Shin Yuna. Now, you two should be mire careful! You’re both in high school, you know?”

”We’re sorry, Yeji-unnie.” The pair said meekly. Lia and Chaeryeong immediately thought of a mother and two rowdy children when they saw what was happening.

”Clean yourselves up. There’s two towels in my bag, you know which one’s yours. And fix your hair while you’re at it! You have your combs with you, right? Make sure to drink some water too.” 

“Yes, Yeji-unnie!” The two then went away and follow Yeji’s commands. Yeji brought her hand to her temple, giving it a gentle rub.

”Sometimes, I really feel like their mother instead of their childhood friend. Those two are really such children at times!”

”I guess it just means you guys are really that close as friends. It’s pretty cute actually.” Chaeryeong said.

The sisters then returned, looking decent with their uniform fized and hair in place. Ryujin had taken off her jacket, and Lia couldn't keep her eyes off the girl's toned arms. Yeji noticed this and let out a short laugh. Her classmate heard it and immediately tore her eyes off from her crush, while the others only looked at Yeji in confusion.

She gestured with her hands and Lia's hands immediately went up to . She felt nothing wet and she immediately glared at her friend. Yeji replying only by letting out another laugh. The cat-eyed girl subtly winked to Chaeryeong and Yuna, pointing to the gate. The two immediately getting the plan. They were going to ditch Ryujin and Lia and force them together.

"Hey Ryujin-unnie." Yuna said to catch her sister's attention. Ryujin looked at her with an eyebrow raised.

"I remember mom telling me to pick something up from the supermarket. Go on without me, okay?"

"What? I'll go with you then." 

"Ryujin-ah, I'll go with her. Mom told me to get some soy sauce, so I'll be going there too. Besides, we're neighbours. I'll take care of your sister." Yeji interjected.

"But-"

"No buts. Go home without us."

"I'll be going with them too. Lia-unnie." Chaeryeong suddenly said. Lia looked like she wanted to say something, but Yeji quickly grabbed the taller second year and dragging her away. Of course, not without a teasing smirk shot towards Lia.

'I can't believe Hwang Yeji!' Lia thought to herself. 

Without the presence of the other three, Ryujin and Lia immediately felt awkward, despite being close.

"Ummm, so I guess we were abandoned, huh?" Lia said nervously.

"Yeah, I guess we were, unnie." The two looked at each other and laughed. They were being too awkward for people who's talked to each other quite often. Heck, Ryujin always ate lunch with her! they tried to gather the courage to speak.

"Hey so-"

"Ryujin, I-"

And they ended up speaking at the same time. The ridiculousness of the situation was enough to eliminate the awkward air and Ryujin told the older girl to speak first.

"Ryujijn-ah, I want to tell you something." The younger girl only looked at her in curiousity. Lia gulped as she looked at Ryujin's brown eyes. She mentally encouraged herself to keep going. Now that she had some reassurance, there's no way she can back down now.

"I...like you, Shin Ryujin. Will you please go out with me?" she managed to let out in one breath. Lia made use of all the courage in her body to tell the blue-haired girl what she felt. She gauged Ryujin's reaction, and she felt quite disheartened that she was only looking at her with wide eyes.

"Uhh, it's fine if you don't feel the same way. I just wanted to tell you how I felt. Look, I can even keep my distance if you want. God, do you even want to be friends with me still? It's fine if you don't-" 

Lia's nervous rambles was interrupted by a soft pair of lips on her own. The girl couldn't feel anymore shellshocked. Did Ryujin like her back? However, her train of thought was immediately stopped when she felt Ryujin bring her closer, and she couldn't help but reciprocate the soft kiss. And eventually, the two parted, Ryujin looking at Lia with the brightest smile.

"You like me too, Lia-unnie?" she asked softly, the smile never leaving her face. Lia only nodded and she felt herself be engulfed in a tight embrace from the younger girl.

" I'd love to be your girlfriend, unnie!" Ryujin sad, as she released the hug. She intertwined their hands and smiled even wider.

"Do you want to walk back together, Lia-unnie??" This time, Lia finally let a smile break through her shocked expression and looked straight at Ryujin's eyes.

"Of course."
