It happened real fast. Yuna letting go of the ladder, Sojung swooping in to save her (thank god she got there in time) and Mr Tashi helping Sojung to heave Yuna up back to safety. They could have all fallen down that gaping hole in the ground considering how they were all linked to each other with a safety rope. Eunha shuddered at the thought of what could have happened, but quickly shook her head and turned her focus back to Yuna.

Eunbi was beside Sojung as the latter was coming down from the adrenaline rush she experienced from the desperation to save Yuna. It wasn’t easy, given that the oxygen level is already half that at sea level. It took Sojung some time to get her breathing to even out. It took even longer for Yuna to settle down. 

The two sherpas had a short discussion and at the end of it, Mr Tashi urged the group to keep moving since they were still in the danger zone of the Khumbu Icefall. “Ice can still fall” he cautioned them in his broken English.
