Chapter 3 - Base Camp (Part 1)
No SignalShe was working in her study, supposedly doing the last minute checks for the pitch on Friday, but Yewon couldn’t help but glance at her second monitor every other minute. The signal from the tracker she had hidden in Yuna’s belongings was translated as a blinking tiny red dot on the monitor, with stats of the day's journey being shown on the right panel. According to the data, the group had finally reached the Northern base camp right on schedule. And based on Yewon’s research, if all goes well, they should be able to reach the summit in four days' time.
Even though everything seems fine, Yewon still hasn’t been able to shake off the feeling of impending doom. Part of her told her to believe Yerin’s words, that Yuna is going to be alright and that she is in good hands. However, the overwhelming fear of losing Yuna if something were to go wrong was tormenting her.
“Yewon, you’ve got work to do. Concentrate on your work, for goodness sake. You need to land this deal, if not your boss is going to come breathing down your neck. Fingers crossed, and you might even get the promotion you deserve,” she reminded herself, “So, let’s do this.”
Two hours flew by pretty quickly. When Yerin came to the study to check on Yewon with a glass of warm milk in hand, she found the latter sleeping soundly, face flat on the table. The sight was so cute, that she just had to capture it. Sensing that
