It’s been almost half a year since I finished this story, and from that day I’ve been waiting for someone to ask me at least one of the questions below. Since no one did, I decided to do a Q&A by myself lol. I know it sounds silly, but it’s just I’ve put a lot of efforts in writing this story and cannot move on easily. So yeah ~ just consider it as a special chapter.  

Q: Why was the story named “If only”?

A:We often use If only to express strong wishes in the future, but If only can also be used to express regrets. A wish without fulfillment will become a regret. Yongsun had made a lot of wishes in the past, most of them came true but only one didn’t – “If only Byulie would realize my feeling.” And that one became the biggest regret for the rest of her life.

Q: Why did you choose Junghoon’s career as a pediatric surgeon?

A: High salary (lol), and love children. Above all, I needed a justifiable reason for his absence when Byulyi was in pain at night (Chapter 4: I’m here for you 2) and when Byulyi gave birth (Chapter 5: I’m here for you 3).

Well, he was not there when Byulyi needed him but you can’t hate him.

Q: Why did you choose Seoul National University Hospital?

A: Because it has the Main Hospital (where the delivery room locates) and the Children’s Hospital in the same campus, so that Junghoon could leave for emergency surgery and come back in time when Byulyi gave birth to Minhee. (Chapter 5: I’m here for you 3)

Q: All the chapters were not in the same timeline, how did you sort them?

A: By the tense of each chapter’s title.

The titles of the first two chapters were written in the past tense (If only I heard it wrong, If only it was me).

The titles of the next three chapters were written in present tense (I’m here for you 1,2,3).

The title of the last chapter was written in future tense (The Sun will always shine).

Q: How much did Yongsun do for Byulyi?

A: Anyone can say a lot. I will just list some significant ones:

She moved in the same building with Byulyi after Junghoon told her Byulyi wanted to live near her like before (Chapter 3: I’m here for you 1).

She read a lot of pregnancy books after not knowing how to deal with Byulyi’s morning sickness (Chapter 3+4: I’m here for you 1,2).
