Dahyun just got out of her last class for the day. She was walking down the halls when she saw Mina being corner by a male student. Dahyun fumed and marched her way to help Mina. She happily went up to Mina and greeted. “Hi, Mina! Thanks for waiting for me.” Dahyun looked at the guy, “Who is this?”

“Ohhhhh I see you have a pretty friend too. I’m down to have you join us for some drinks and karaoke, especially since you’re so beautiful.”

Dahyun looked at him in disgust, “Haha no thank you. Mina and I are quite busy so see you later.” She grabbed Mina’s arm and tried to walk away from the guy but he was quick to grab Mina’s wrist.

“Hey! I ain’t gonna leave before I have some fun.” In a quick moment, Dahyun kicked the guy in his area, making him fall to the ground. Dahyun quickly grabbed Mina’s hand and they ran out of the halls. “You crazy ! You’ll pay for this!”

“That’s what you get for being a creep!” Dahyun shouted and the girls made their way to Dahyun’s car.

When they both arrived, they both caught their breath. Mina realized that Dahyun was still holding her hand. “Ummmm Dahyun… you can let go now.”

“What?” Dahyun looked down and quickly retracted her hand and avoided eye contact with Mina. “Sorry, I was trying to get out of there as fast as I can.” Dahyun rubbed the back of her neck and looked at Mina, “Are you okay? Did he hurt you?”

Mina shook her head, “I’m okay, Dahyun.” Mina smiled and bowed to her, “Thank you for saving me.”

Dahyun blushed and became flustered, “D-Don’t worry about it, Mina. Guy doesn’t understand that no means no. So I had to do what I needed to do.”

“Kicking him where it hurts? I didn’t expect you to do something like that. You’re just full of surprises.” Mina giggled which made Dahyun blush even harder. Mina looked at her phone, “Well thanks for the but I gotta get to my next class. I’ll see you soon.”

Before Mina left, Dahyun grabbed her hand which surprised her. Dahyun suddenly let go and bowed, “Sorry about it.” Mina turned around and faced her. Dahyun fiddled with her hands, “Ummmm, so I have this photo project where I take pics of random people in different settings.” Dahyun became more nervous which made Mina smile as she can see how red she is getting. “I was wondering if you can help me with the project. My first place is a cafe setting so I thought… it would be fitting for you to be my first model. You know because… you’re beautiful.” Dahyun quietly said the last part but Mina can still hear it.

Mina smiled and laughed, “Of course I’ll help you. The least I could do since you saved me earlier.” She took out a piece of paper and wrote her number. “Here you go. Text me the details. I have to go now but I’ll be waiting for your message Dahyunnie.” She waved goodbye and left Dahyun speechless.

Dahyun was done explaining what happened beforehand. Tzuyu and Chaeyoung looked at each other and then they looked at Dahyun. “Unnie…” Tzuyu spoke up. “Are you sure it’s a date? Sounds more like just doing a homework assignment.”

“I could make it into a date!” Dahyun interjected, “Yes, I really need to do this project but this can be an excuse to have a date with her. It’s perfect!”

“You should probably find out if she’s gay or at least into girls first.” Chaeyoung pointed out. “Remember how you fell for a straight girl before? And how you embarrassed yourself in front of the school?”

“Yah! That was only ONE time in middle school. And besides, that prom proposal was still awesome.”

“Yes Dahyun. You doing the eagle dance for that girl and asking her out for prom was ‘awesome’.” Tzuyu laughed and Dahyun proceeded to smack her.

“I swear you can be such a savage.” Dahyun sighed, “Anyway, let’s go home. I have homework assignments to do. And I gotta figure out what to wear.”

“Will this also take 5 hours and you bugging us which one is the better outfit?” Chaeyoung laughed.

“I swear I will leave your here.”

The next day came, Dahyun was ready for “date.” Dahyun (and forcibly Chaeyoung and Tzuyu) decided to go with a simple outfit: a white button up with a black cardigan and blue pants with white shoes. Dahyun was nervously waiting at her car. Dahyun and Mina decided to go to the cafe near the school after Mina’s last class. She kept on glancing at her watch, nervousness still running through her mind.

“Dahyun!” She looked to the side and her jaws dropped as she saw Mina and her outfit. She was wearing a turtleneck with a brown coat, black jeans and black boots. Her hair was also tied up in a low ponytail. “Hi Dahyun. Were you waiting long for me?” Dahyun didn’t speak a word as she was still in awe. Mina waved her hand in front, “Hello? Is anyone there?”

Dahyun shook her head and blushed, “H-Hey, Mina. I wasn’t waiting that long. Ummm… you look great today. Did you just change? You wore different clothes earlier.”

Mina smiled, “Thank you. And yes, I did. Since we’re doing a photoshoot, I thought it would be nice to dress up for the occasion. I bet you don’t want a frumpy model for your photos.”

“But you look gorgeous no matter what you wear.” Mina blushed at what Dahyun said. Dahyun quickly turned red as she realized what she said, “I-I mean… let’s go to the cafe!” Dahyun awkwardly laughed as she opened the passenger seat for Mina.

“Oh my what a gentle woman.” Dahyun swore her heart could burst any moment. After Mina got in, she got into the driver seat and they both drove off to the cafe.

After arriving at the cafe, the two girls entered and admired the setting of the cafe. It was simple but it still had that cozy environment that makes them feel at home. It wasn’t too crowded as it was filled with a couple of students from the university, either studying or just hanging around. “I’ll order us some drinks while you go find us a place to sit.” Mina suggested, “What would you like to drink?”

“Ah could I get an iced mocha latte? Thank you.” Mina nodded and proceeded to go to the register while Dahyun went to find a spot for them.

She decided to go to the corner by the window. It was a nice secluded spot but they were able to still observe the entire cafe. “Wow, this is so breath-taking.” She pulled out her camera and took a few pics of the cafe. Mina finally came with their drink order along with some pastries. “Oh thank you. How much do I owe you?”

Mina shook her head, “It’s okay. You don’t have to pay me back.”

Dahyun gasped, “At least let me pay for the pastries! You really don’t have to do this.”

“Don’t worry about it, Dahyun. Really…. Now let’s enjoy ourselves.” Mina began eating the pastries while Dahyun quietly sipped on her drink.

Dahyun put down her drink. “So uh for my photos they are actually candid shoots so just pretend that I’m not here while I take your photos. Just do whatever you want haha.”

“Oh… okay.” Mina continued eating her pastry while Dahyun just took photos. Mina couldn’t help but feel shy as the camera lenses were constantly on her. She looked down at her phone to ease her shyness.

Meanwhile, Dahyun was having a full on gay panic attack with each shot she took of Mina. How can this girl be so beautiful no matter what she does! She took a couple more photos before putting her camera down. “Alright, I’m done with the photos. Do you want to take a look at them?” 

Mina nodded and walked over to Dahyun’s side to see the results of the photoshoot. She looked at the camera screen and she was surprised by the photos. “Wowwwww. These turn out wonderful!”

Dahyun blushed at Mina’s compliment. “T-Thank you. If there’s any photos you like, let me know and I can get them printed at school.” Mina nodded and went back to her seat. Dahyun put away her camera and went back to enjoying her drink and pastry while spending time with the girl in front of her.

“So Dahyun. What made you want to study photography?” Mina asked.

Dahyun stared off the side to think for a moment. “Honestly, I really don’t know. When I was applying for college, I thought about what I want to do. I’m not really good at STEM, I can’t do business or other stuff. But somehow, I always turn to the camera whenever I feel down or happy. I just wanted to capture the moment, you know what I mean.” Mina smiled at Dahyun which made her more red. I swear that smile is gonna kill me one day. “Anyway, I decided to apply as a photography major. As of right now, I’m not sure what I want as a job but I’m happy with anything. Whether that’s opening my own services to take photos or getting hired to take photos for models.”

“Wow.” Mina clapped her hands while Dahyun laughed.

“How about you, Mina? Why did you choose to be a biochemistry major? I’ve seen you dance. Dancing can still be a good profession.” Dahyun pointed it out.

“Dancing can be a good profession but I rather still have that as a hobby and a way to relieve stress from my studies.” Dahyun nodded in understanding. “Anyway, my family are doctors or working in the medical field in some way. So I decided to also take that route since it’ll be easier to find a stable job in the future. I could be a doctor or a pharmacist or something in the middle. Still haven’t figured that out.”

“Ahhh, I see.” Dahyun realized something, “Wait, does that mean when you’re done with your studies… you’re going back to Japan?”

Mina sighed, “As of right now, that’s the plan right now. I’m pretty sure my friends will also go back when they graduate but they seem to like it here so who knows. But if I need to further my studies I need to go back home.”

“Oh.” There was a moment of silence. “So why did you come to Korea? You could’ve stayed in Japan?”

Mina looked at Dahyun. “Well, my friends convinced me to come since they’re coming here too so it’ll be good for us to stay together but also… I wanted to get away for a while. From someone.”

Dahyun was intrigued. “Ex?” 

Mina nodded. “Ex boyfriend.”

“Oh I’m sorry.” So she is straight. Wait, Dahyun, that is not the time to think about it. Console her! Dahyun cleared , “And I’m sorry for asking personal questions. I bet you’re getting uncomfortable.”

Mina shook her head, “Oh nononono it’s okay. I’m over him so I don’t mind. Plus, I’m making wonderful memories here in Korea. So I’m not letting someone ruin my fun while I’m here.” Mina gave Dahyun a smile while she smiled back.

After talking with each other for a while, Dahyun and Mina exited the cafe. “Ahhhh that was great.” Dahyun turned to Mina, “Thanks again for helping me with my project.”

Mina nodded. “I’m honored that you chose me as your- OH MY GOD!” Dahyun was surprised by her yelling. Mina pointed behind Dahyun and she turned around. “It’s an arcade! Let’s go Dahyun.”

“What wait-” Before Dahyun could finish, Mina grabbed Dahyun’s hand and they made their way to the arcade. As they were making their way to the arcade, Dahyun couldn’t help but smile and laughed. Still a kid at heart. She’s so cute.

The two of them spent the rest of the day at the arcade. They won a lot of tickets (mainly Mina because she’s a pro gamer like that lol) and won a big penguin plush to take home. Mina insisted that Dahyun take home the plushie but Dahyun refused and said it’s only fair that Mina keeps it since she won most of the tickets.

After the impromptu arcade “date”, Dahyun drove Mina to her apartment. The two of them walked to the front door of the apartment complex. “I’ll be good from here. But thank you for today, Dahyun. I had a wonderful time. Sorry for dragging you to the arcade. I haven’t been in a while since coming here.”

Dahyun blushed and giggled, “I’m glad you had fun. And don’t worry about it. I haven’t been to the arcade as well so it was good to take a break haha.”

There was a moment of silence between the two girls. Dahyun couldn’t have but stare at Mina, looking at her pretty face. She blushed harder. She took a deep breath. Alright you can do this Dahyun! “Hey Mina I was wondering-” Suddenly, her phone rang. She grabbed and read the contact “Ostrich”. Dahyun groaned, “Excuse me for a moment.”

Dahyun walked away and picked up the call, “Yo what’s up? I was about to ask this girl out on a date!”

“Sorry but I am calling to say: BRO EMERGENCY MEETING! Hurry your home right now.”

Dahyun rubbed her eyes, “Fine I’m coming.” She hung up and went up to Mina. “Sorry about that but I have to go home right now. Something came up.”

“Oh that’s okay. Thanks again Dahyun.” The next action caught off Dahyun. Mina went up to her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Dahyun turned extremely red. Mina smiled at her, “Drive home safe.” Then she went into her building.

Dahyun stood there in shock. A kiss… A KISS ON THE CHEEK WAHOOOOOO! Dahyun couldn’t help to keep her excitement down. “Oh that’s right I need to get going.” Dahyun ran into her car and drove as fast as she can.

When Dahyun arrived home, she saw that Chaeyoung and Tzuyu were already on the couch. Jeongyeon was sitting in front of them, her hands clasped and with a serious expression on her face. Dahyun made her way to the couch and took a seat next to Tzuyu.

Jeongyeon sighed and looked at the three girls. “Alright I’m gonna be direct with you guys. I have a date tomorrow with Nayeon.”

There was a moment of silence. “EHHHHHH?!”
